the original question isn't so much that why does batman have nipples as much as why doesn't he?

In the drawings of all superheroes the just look like they have their designs painted on their skin. So it looks like their missing nipples. Many times even shirtless superheroes don't have nipples.

You want Bat-nips? Watch the Joel Schumacher Batman films (Batman Forever, Batman & Robin).

Batman should get a pass on not having nipples since he's wearing armor. Superman on the hand...

Err, no. Rachel Nichols is in it so I will look out for it if and when it pops up here. Had a LOL moment when the first review on IMDB was titled: If Ayn Rand wrote SciFi, this would be it. To be honest, I read the review and this show might not be my cup of tea considering I find the political undertones utterly repugnant.

It has particularly strong political tones, but i have grown to like the show mainly because of it's slow (but decently paced) buildup. And the CGI and set design for the scenes in the future is SGU-quality.

Kryptonian.  It hasn't been proven that the males retain nipples.

IGN has a new interview with the director of Wreck-It Ralph (which looks really good from the trailer I saw before The Dark Knight Rises). He talks about stuff like securing rights to characters (especially tough was Nintendo, saying Bowser should be bigger and that he wouldn't drink his coffee that way). http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/06/wreck-it-ralph-creators-on-using-actual-video-game-characters

A co-worker of mind has repeatedly pushed me to go see Lawless.

It's Shia Lebouf's new movie. Something about bootleg liquor days based on a true story. He said it was really good. Anyone heard anything about it?

That's what I was thinking, and the main reason why I posted it in this thread instead of blindly going to go see it.

It's actually quite good. Though Shia's performance is probably his best ever, he's still only manages to be pretty good.  The real reason to watch is Tom "Bane" Hardy as his older brother and a bit part by Gary Oldman.

My mom's a big Tom Hardy fan, and I am too from his work in The Virgin Queen. She's been hyped about Lawless ever since she watched a trailer for it on her laptop.

JGL and Shia probably cancel each other out.

EDIT: Never mind, for some reason I thought JGL was in this movie. Not sure where I got that idea. Maybe I was mixing it up with Looper.

So it appears that Marvel will never get X-men or Fantastic 4 back from fox.....

http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/172893-20th-century-fox-taps-mark-millar-to-consult-on-marvel-adaptations

It appears that Mark Millar will help Fox create a "Marvel Universe" of their own, starting with the upcominmg, X-men, Wolverine and F4 reboot.

Disney, please step in and figure out a way to rewrite these contracts so that you have a chance at getting these properties back. The Avengers and made an ocean of cash, please use if for something good.

I don't think they care about Fantastic Four, they might with X-Men. Besides, they want Spider-Man back from Sony a lot more.

Spiderman needs to join The Avengers 2 3

Disney has got to be able to do something about those contracts of desperation that heppened before Marvel became a wholly owned entity of the Disney Corporation. But I'm sure their lawyers are and have been working on it.

Sony and News Corp. have good lawyers too, so I think it's safe to assume that they made sure the contracts were iron-clad. The most I can see is Disney trying to get Sony's permission to use Spider-Man.

The only way for them to keep making movies is for them to keep making spider-man movies. They could sell it back though. All that money they made off the Avengers they might as well use it to buy the movie rights to spider-man. They should offer a perpetual 10% share in profits.

Why would Sony settle for 10%? The Amazing Spider-Man is currently at $751,657,162 worldwide (and still in theatres). Right now Sony would have about $380 million of that (typically theatres get about half). If Disney had it, that deal would give Sony only $75 million.

I was saying they would buy it for whatever a movie makes $800,000,000(avengers made 1.5 billion) and then also get 10% perpetuity.

so they would get like a billion dollars now and then almost 100 million every time a spider-man movie is released. I'd call that a good deal. Its like what Robert Downey Jr. gets.

But I think Sony would rather keep all the money that the movies make plus all the licensing money they get from merchandising. I just don't see Sony ever wanting to give it up unless the next movie loses money for them (which I don't see happening).

I just came across a story from last month that Fox returned DareDevil back to Marvel.

I wonder if Marvel has any plans to put something together for DD?
Unfortunately, Michael Clark Duncan can't return for KingPin, but I'm sure they have a great story and some actors in mind to fill the roles.

Who should play DD? Kingpin?
who should be the main villian, likely working for KingPin?

Disney owns Marvel Comics, so they should just finance and produce the movies themselves. They can have other companies distribute them, but those companies would have to give Disney a spot in the credits sequence.

[Example]
"Sony Pictures presents...
A Walt Disney Pictures / Marvel Studios production..."

Warner Bros. has no problems holding onto their DC Comics movie rights. So why is Disney in a tough situation?
