I just read about the proposed Superman Lives movie. Producer Jon Peters wanted to ditch the red and blue costume (calling it "faggy") in favor of a black costume, wanted to make Superman not fly, give Lex Luthor a space dog, and have Braniac fight polar bears and have a sidekick that Peters called a "gay R2-D2 with attitude". Ugh, that would have been a disaster.

It would have been horrible, but probably very entertaining in a "so bad it's good" way.

You forgot the giant spider*. They planned on Superman fighting a giant spider.

*Movie Trivia Time:
Q: What happened to the Giant Spider that was supposed to be in Tim Burton's Abborted Superman Lives?

A: It eventually ended up in Wild West starring Will Smith

-Executives behind the movie were pushing all kinds of retarded ideas and these came to light after Kevin Smith was hired to re-write the script.

Also, at one point they offered Will Smith the role of Superman but he turned it down. In the end he still fought a giant mechanical spider in Wild Wild West anyway. Lame..

I don't think anyone hear would contest that she was the best part of that movie (or any other one she's in*).

yeah, i think it looks pretty good. I was hoping with a new cast and director that the suit would be different as well. Its nice and different, but not off the wall different. It doesn't look like a birthday party spidey suit, and so there it succeeds.

What about the spider symbol? It looks weird. I kinda wanted them to use a different suit, like the one Ben Reilly used as Spider-Man (not Scarlet Spider).

It looks like a wet suit with a silly color scheme. Clearly this is actually Scuba-Diving-Man, one of Aquaman's greatest foes!

I have seen a lot of negative reactions online to the Captain America costume. I do think it could be better, but this one isn't bad.

He looks like he's Parachute Man. Standing with GI Joe rejects.

Captian America looks like an old fashioned fighter pilot. I don't know the plot though. Was he still frozen in ice? Could this be an inbetween time of being freed from ice and hasn't had time to change his clothes?

The beginning and end of the movie are set in present day, but the rest of the movie takes place between 1939 and 1945.

Basically, Steve Rogers wants to join the military but is deemed unfit to serve. He instead volunteers for the top secret Project: Rebirth and becomes Captain America. From what I have read, there is a scene that shows a fighter plane in the Arctic before they flashback to World War II.

Remmeber this Mortal Kombat short starring Michael Jai White aka "Black Dynamite"

Supposed trailer for a new Mortal Kombat movie

It looks so deliciously horrible!  I love how they try to rationalize the story.  ;D

Look slike Warner Bros. gave it the green light to be turned into a 10 episode Online Mini-series focusing on Michael Jai Whites Jax character from the original short.

Quote
So much for the proposed Mortal Kombat remake that Warner Bros. Pictures had hoped to get off the ground. Still, fans of the bloody battle are in for a treat as Bloody Disgusting learned that director Kevin Tancharoen - who directed the awesome online short - will return behind the camera for a 10-episode web series dedicated to the popular video game. Penned by Tancharoen, Todd Helbing, and Aaron Helbing, star Michael Jai White leads the cast as "Major Jackson 'Jax' Briggs. Shooting will take place in Vancouver this coming February. Contested expected to be cast are: Shang Tsung, Liu Kang, Sub Zero, Durak, Kabal, Kitana/Mileena and of course Scorpion. No release date is planned, and there's no word on that R-rated remake. The only plot details we could conjure up is that a few Earthlings will fight to save the planet from Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung, two Gods ruling over parallel universes, or something to that effect.

I'll be checking this out whenever it becomes available, and hopefully it 's good enough to lead to something much bigger, like an HBO mini-series or a Movie or something.

speaking of hobbit feet

hobbit is well on its way into production now....now they have to rebuild all that stuff they tore down after filming the last hobbit movies.

That's pretty awesome news. I was always a big fan of the original film adaptation. That web trailer was pretty impressive, even if the style was a huge departure. Hopefully they'll keep Jeri Ryan around, too! ;)

It is kind of odd that they mention Durak in the article... I mean, wouldn't Goro make more sense?

Looks like Expendables is getting a sequel.
http://www.aintitcool.com/node/48122
Also sounds like Van Damme might be in this one as long as Seagal isn't.

What would you guys want out of an Expendables sequel? (I hope more for an A-Team sequel, but Expendables 2 could be great)

I'm hoping Arnold's team goes head to head with Stallone's team and Willis even has a bigger roll orchestrating the whole thing.
I'm hoping Arnold's team is a carbon copy of Stallone's team and looks a little something like this

Stallone vs Arnold
Jet Li vs Jackie Chan
Terry Crews vs Michael Jai White
Statham vs Wesley Snipes
Mickey Rourke vs Danny Trejo
Lundgren vs The Rock
__________ vs Van Damme( or Seagal)

and I haven't paired up them all since I don't remember everyone on the team. Did Lundgren die at the end?
Who am I missing, who else should be included and what/who would you change?

edit: added Danny "Machete" Trejo
