Either way, welcome to the WiiFit club!

Thanks! Oh yeah, Omegathon! I guess your absences are excused. Just tell the board that.

While I didn't finish all my work last night, I couldn't resist giving it a little try. It's really weird, takes some time getting used to it. But it was surprisingly fun, too! I particularly liked seeing all the miis in the free run I did (Evan, Stevey, RAB, a bunch of forum folk I recognized passed by, and one of my "irl friends" was jogging alongside me and just face-planted... hee!).

Oh, and yoga is frickin' tough, although I am already a yoga master at deep breathing. lawl

I used Wiifit every day for over nine weeks and stayed within a several pounds of my original weight at all times. I got up to an hour a day doing 90% aerobic, and still no weight loss. At that point I gave up because it was doing nothing for me. I have read online of multiple people losing weight with Wiifit though, so I don't blame the program, I think the problem is probably a medical one on my part.

You're probably at equilibrium at your current workout intensity?  Maybe on the verge of gaining weight by building muscle?

One would think that, but my diet didn't change from what it was a year ago without Wiifit and I weighed about the same at that time.

Wii Fit just burns the calories you normally spend brushing your teeth and sitting up from the toilet, confirmed.

Face it, you're "fit", which means getting your heart rate up and sweating isn't enough to appreciably reduce mass.  Gotta target those muscle groups with real intensity now.

Well, guys, I got quite a kick out of Wii Fit, and it's still rocking the sales charts... but for me the novelty wore off surprisingly quickly after, actually, only two times of playing it. So, I decided to sell it. Little did I know that...

Well, suffice it to say that Hell hath no fury like a video game scorned. 8o

Anybody else still playing this regularly?

My mother got this.  She's had my Wii for the past few months, so I've been deprived.  I visited home the other day and got to play it, though.  It's surprisingly effective.  I think I like it.  Shall update more as I use it over Christmas.

I use it to monitor my weight, but it doesn't give me a big enough workout to lose any weight.

But are you more fit?  It's not called Wii Weight Loss.

Miyamoto said he hoped that this made people more aware of their bodies. He didn't specifically state fitness or weight loss as his goals, only awareness.

So, Wii Fit is the Video Game equivalent of Live AIDS?

Not awareness of issues, guys! Awareness of self! Like... knowing... that one's body... matters. Is in need of activity... it exists... like that! Like how people are aware of fat and calories in food nowadays.

So, Wii Fit is the Video Game equivalent of Live AIDS?

oh wow.

I'd love to have WiiFit; however, it's too damn expensive. I refuse to pay the full cost.

I've always been curious about how well my body works. ****, both my parents AND my brother are doctors. They're always telling me fascinating things that make me examine my health. Like for instance, the human body is perfect and it is always trying to return to its most perfect level. Because of that, as I've gotten older, I've become more concerned about everything I intake; everything that makes my body waver from it's perfection. I'd be helpful to know exactly where I go wrong. And maybe once, I might not gain weight during the winter. :(

I don't use the Wii fit any more, but my wife is still doing at least an hour a day.  She's lost 30 lbs since June using it.  (Admittedly, we've changed our eating habits in response to the game, so part of the weight loss is due to that.)

For me the Wii Fit is more of a gateway drug.  I'm pondering getting Shaun White simply to play it on the balance board.  Already bought Raving Rabids TV Party for the same reason.

Wow Tanatoes. It sounds like WiiFit has actually been a pretty beneficial sort of gentle nudge.

I <3 you for buying 3rd party games.
