Do you not like pets in general, or is it just cats?
Yep, all pets, though I suppose it depends on what you mean by "not like". Do I think they are cute and adorable? Absolutely. Do I want one coming into my home and making a mess of things? No way.

Oh and belatedly, Felix Dies Natalis Mop_it_up.
Thanks, but do you think I'm German or something?

It's Latin.  So no linguistic relation to German.  But I could think you're Spanish, French, Romanian, Italian, or Portuguese....

I'm curious to how she came up with that as well, actually. When i read her post I knew what the words meant (not because of the topic at hand) because i figured it was either Italian, French or Portuguese because it looks similar to what "happy birthday" means in Spanish (ie i knew it had roots in Latin) so i would NEVER of guessed you were any of those nationalities considering you assumed it was German...

I'm a languages scholar, so it's more that I never say 'Happy Birthday' to anyone, I say something else.  Latin is one of my favorite languages to study because I had to do so much work with it to write my Senior Thesis, so you got a Latin birthday greeting.  I could just wish you a belated Happy Birthday and leave nationalities out of it, but where's the fun in that when I could confuse everybody instead?  Now I have EasyCure thinking Disney is plotting the death of Felix the Cat.

Me paenitet EasyCure.  What's the question?  I didn't think Mop_it_up was any of those nationalities, I haven't the foggiest what she is, I just picked Latin as my choice language to wish her a Happy Birthday.  Was that the question?

Oh I'm sorry for all the confusion.  I chose to wish her a Happy Birthday in Latin just because that's the language I picked, randomly.  Then she asked if I thought she was German.  I said no, it's Latin, and Latin isn't tied to the Germanic languages, but that if she thought I was picking the language based on her perceived nationality, then I would have to think she was Spanish, French, etc.  I still have no idea what she is, although I'm going to guess based on her response, she's not German.

There is some poetic justice in a mouse and a rabbit taking on a cat though, don't you think?  Cats have been keeping them down for centuries.

You're a language scholar?!? Totally awesome. I'm an aspiring language nerd. I'd like to hear more about what you have studied and if your studies have taken you to other places.
