X-Files 2 in 2008?
« on: July 14, 2007, 07:44:55 PM »
I used to love the X-files and heard rumors of a second film for a long time but now according to David Duchovny, it really is "going forward" and Gillian Anderson is indeed on board.

If you're a fan like me check out the full story here.

I been hearing that it will be a Monster-of-the-Week type feature, which is fine by me.

Hooray...but I want back the lone gunmen.
I don't think I watched the first movie anyway, must've been in the era where I chose to not go to the movies, ah well.

I believe they were killed in the final season of The X-Files after their own show was canceled and their story lines were finished in the final season of The X-Files.  This is going by what I have read because I didn't watch any of the 9th season when it first aired.  I have them all on DVD and right now I have 6th ~ 9th season to watch, plus the one aborted season of The Lone Gunmen, as well.

Edit/Update: Shyguy you're correct, my bad.

What happened to the lone gunmen? All three of the Lone Gunmen died in the X-Files episode "Jump The Shark", sacrificing themselves to save thousands from a terrorist created plague by using fire doors to seal themselves in a closed hallway with the man carrying the plague. AD Skinner pulled some strings and arranged for them to be interred at Arlington National Cemetery as tribute to their brave deeds

Dang it people! The lone gunmen were ghosts in the final episode, along with several other past recurring characters.

edit: Dang it ShyGuy! spoiler is not plural!

Haha.  You guys still care about X-Files.  Everything went downhill after the episode where the killer at the circus was the guy who lived in the other guy's chest.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I think that was the most recent one I saw.  It turns out he was one of the original Venture Bros.

Uh, that's why I asked for the lone gunmen to come back because I knew they were dead, this is the x-files so anything should happen, ghosts don't count, I want them in flesh.

Well I think Chris Carter once said No one ever dies in the X-Files, so I guess it's possible.

I doubt it will happen, the writers are apparently going on strike maybe as early as tomorrow. So say goodbye to your favorite TV shows and movies, at least for the 2nd half of the season.

Too bad it will more than likely be delayed because of the writers strike.

I thought Chris Carter was co-writing this himself... so wouldn't that mean the movie wouldn't be affected by the writer's strike?
