honestly I would not be surprised, Sony seems to be falling victim to the same thing that happened to nintendo way back in the N64 days.  Sony just strikes me as getting increasingly arrogant, like now that they have the most consoles out they do what they want, not necessarily what the gamers want.

And yet thats how i used to feel about Ninty.  Now I think the tables have turned and I feel that Nintendo is listening to its player userbase.

I really don't like the mindset that the Revolution can co-exist or that it's a secondary system...

Its called PR Kirby, kind of like the DS being the third pillar, its entirely to cover their arses, if the DS had failed then they would have released a GBE fast, but now that its a success the GBE will be years off, if ever.  

Same with the REV, if sales aren't as big as nintendo hopes, but it still seems to be purchased as a second system for most gamers then Ninty can say, look it did what we wanted it to do, it became a secondary system for many, but if sales are huge then you'll see the whole Secondary system talk be quietly thrown out the window.

I believe Nintendo will take Japan in the console market just as they have the handheld market, and the effect will be Sony being murdered in other places like America and Europe by Nintendo and MS.

Can't forget Apple could be the ones who deliver Sony's head.

The only thing Sony has right now is Spiderman 3.

I don't think Sony will die anytime soon....but I do think there's a strong chance that the ps3 will be the gamecube of the upcomming generation. I know this a little outlandish, but I have a good feeling the rev will be a runaway, playstation/ipod like unexpected sucess. And that the ps3 and xbox 360 will tussle for second place.

I have been pointing this out to some people I talk to at work it seems that the roles are reversed. I mean Nintendo wanted to treat the industry like it was still back in the 80's and basically there was nothing that can stop it. They stick to a format that not one is hard to program for, but also is the most expensive of the three console, keep the royalties high and alienate the thrid parties. Sony comes in with a system that was relitivly easy to program for, cheep medium, low royalities and loose standards.

Today Sony seems to want to continue to live in the 90's where everything it said was eaten up like bread from heaven. They create a power system but it seems like it will take the most work to get the most return from. The Blu Ray disc it uses will be the most expensive of medium and I doubt that any company even Square will have a hard time filling one. (Not saying it not going to happen though). And Nintendo seems to have eaten some humble pie because they have been working hard on atracting the thrid parties back.
