Metroid: Hunters Online?
« on: April 04, 2005, 07:40:21 AM »
SPOnG reported today that they "confirmed" that Metroid: Hunters will be fully online and will have a similar setup or similar functions to that of Halo 2.  However, I have yet to see any other site report on this.  It would be great news if indeed true.  Opinions/Facts?

I'm gonna look at this as confirmation that Metroid is offline only.

It sounds feasible, the game does come out in the fall and so does Animal Crossing.   It'd be the perfect way to launch that game anyway, especially now since they do have an online plan in the works.

What the hell is wrong with Spong?  Senior Retail Person?  They get inside info?  ><

Until PGC says confirms this themselves, I refuse to believe it.

Even if it was online, it wouldn't be online. It'd be no-line.

I stopped reading after that. Wake me up when a trust worthy source backs this claim, a source with credibility to lose.

Well, a few hours ago Cube-Europe copied the SPOnG story, quite literally.  Apparently they believe it enough, or want to believe it enough, to mirror it on their site.  Whether that gives it any more credibility or not, I couldn't say.

Perhaps the reason it was delayed is so that online could be added...probably just wishful thinking.

No! They've already got network play working well. They've had that since the demo. They will proably use outside deveopers to embed whatever code they need for online near the end of development. It's not going to take them any additional time to implement it.

SHHHHHHHHHH...!!!  Paladin may be reading this thread....
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Oh, I've been reading this thread... but I'll keep my inexpressible rage confined to the other one.

I thought Prime 3 Arena was going to be multiplayer focussed anyway and online would be a pretty major feature?

And don't worry about Cube-Europe, they repeat any rumor that's posted on Spong.

That would be quite nice. Like Halo with 1000% less 13 year olds calling you homosexual.
