Problems while playing Donkey Konga
« on: February 17, 2005, 11:06:12 PM »
I picked up a used copy of Donkey Konga with the bongos for $31.00 from Game Crazy yesterday.  After a while of playing, I realized that I start focusing on the moving circles so intently that I get a little disoriented.  It seems as if the whole room is moving.  This is especially noticeable when I play on harder settings and the circles move faster.

Has anyone else ever experienced this problem?  This is the first time this have ever happened.

Another thing... now that I've got the bongos, I'm really looking forward to the release of DK Jungle Beat  If I'm not mistaken, it should come out sometime in March, right?
500 years ago, I shook the Pillars of Heaven.  Why should I fear a runt like you?

Yes, this happens to my friends and I all the time.   I think it's because in DK, the circles move one way and the whole background moves the other .  It's quite trippy.

Donkey Konga takes some extreme focus and coordination...I find it best when you focus out everything...

Jungle Beat comes out on March 14th.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Yes this has happened to me and its probably because of the circles move one way and the background the other and I guess becuase your eyes try to focus on both things. It doesnt affect me in a negetive way at all but if it really bothers you rest your eyes for a 1 - 5 minutes it always works for me.

Hey, just sue Nintendo for causing these problems for you, forcing them to put annoying warning messages in front of their games, despite the fact they have more warnings on and inside the boxes than Sony and Microsoft combined! Oh, wait, someone already did that...

Well KDR they dont have them on the back of the box like Nintendo does.

EDIT: And what are the chances that people would read the manual anyways?

I'm just saying that Nintendo has implemented so many warnings. I mean, they state it on the back of the box, they state it in the game manual, heck, they even include a manual of JUST warnings in each game, yet they're the only ones targeted by these sue-happy idiots, who forced Nintendo to put an annoying warning at the beginning of each game and demo. Which is even more ridiculous considering they're "not the market leader" anymore.

What surprises me is when Nintendo gets sued by people who are against violence in video games, you would think that the fact that they are considered the most family-centric video game company would shield them from stuff like that.
