Nintendo Gaming / RE:Gamespot Zelda Review
« on: November 20, 2006, 07:31:20 PM »
Did the guy even finish the game? It doesn't look like it according to that quote "I haven't gotten too far into it..." (???)

He does have a point, though. I think a less linear approach to dungeons would be a neat idea. Think of Hyrule as the one "temple" in the entire game,  introducing new places and objectives as you become familiar with it ... But the heart container argument is totally lame.

I haven't played the game yet, but I kind of have a feeling this review is embarrassingly and stunningly full of sh|t.

That's it? For the entire 1st quarter? Zelda can only entertain me for so long. The lack of good, interesting, non-gimmicky games is bringin' me down big time.

"Does Brittany belong with K-Fed?"

That's the first thing I saw when I visited this site, and I thought I had gone to the wrong place ... the whole page, for a couple of seconds, looked like an advertisement place-holder for a website that doesn't exist. I would make the name of the site larger and put it near the middle so the advertisement doesn't dominate. Those advertisements are an eyesore, I tell you.

Too bad the console comes with a game I have no interest in, increasing the price about 30-50 bucks. I'd rather pay 250 with a game of my choice. 300 bucks for wii and one game I actually want is a bit steep.

Nothing surprising, actually a bit disappointing. Yawn.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Rumblings of Revolution controller redesign
« on: November 13, 2005, 05:24:31 PM »
I like Jensen's simplified controller idea. The d-pad looks out of reach and there will be games that need more than 2 buttons. Making space on a 2006 controller for games made way back in '85 is kind of rediculous if you ask me.

Periods, man!!! P.E.R.I.O.D.S!!!!

I'm enjoying MP2 very much, but I just don't see how anyone can get through the entire game without the hint system. There's really no structure in comparison to the first game, but it's still very enjoyable.

"2. Backwards compatibility suggests a more traditional controller design so I don't have to worry about some wacky powerglove sh!t that only works well for a few gimmick games."

I agree with you. I'm afraid they're going to screw up the new system with a "revolutionary" feature that will "revolutionize" the way games are played ... Sort of like the "revolutionary" DS.

It seems to me that this is a poorly fabricated idea with poorly fabricated ideas for games that try to utilize 2 screens. The touch screen is a joke, especially if it is expected to be used throughout the entire game. Talk about some major cramps. It all seems extremely gimmicky to me, and just another excuse to port more games and to make more money. Over ten years ago with the release of the SNES, it would have been unheard of to release a system with nothing but a minimally modified port of a very old mascot game. I think that Nintendo's quality is slowly but surely diminishing, but I hope their next console doesn't include some kind of hokey idea such as this one so that they can get back on the right track.

This sucks. I don't want more of the same. Connectivity? Again?! Nintendo just isn't what it used to be. I'm actually scared to know what the "revolution" will be with the new console.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:My prediction - SK is making Zelda
« on: May 15, 2004, 02:08:14 PM »
You guys, SK isn't Nintendo exclusive anymore, just get over it. That doesn't mean that SK won't continue to make games for Nintendo. The SK team may be making the new Zelda, but that doesn't mean they're exclusive to Nintendo. Capcom made some Zelda games, and they aren't exclusive...

It doesn't float my boat. The PSP seems like it might. That's all I'm saying.

I'm more interested in the PSP. The screens on the DS are too small and the touchscreen is just a hassle. I really don't want to play games with my hand constantly in the way of the screen. I'll stick to buttons, thankyouverymuch. The screen on the PSP is massive, and I really like that aspect. And the PSP blows DS out of the water when it comes down to graphics capabilities. Niether of the handhelds have any games I'm currently interested in, really, but I still prefer the idea of having a PSP over the DS.

I don't want any fanboy bashing, this is just my view on things. I still love Nintendo games, I just think this DS thing is a mistake.

I actually loved Castlevania 64 way back when it first came out. I thought it was a great 3d interpretation of a great 2d game, and it was kind of creepy. It should have been done again and improved upon (I thought the second one sucked).

I would loooove a game that has nothing to do with zombies or stupid things that wonder around like zombies. What about something like fatal frame? I'd love to see something like that done more often. Something more in the realm of "I KNOW it's there, because I can hear it, and it's getting louder, but I can't SEE it! WTF IS that?!"

I know what you meant. I guess I've just been grumpy about Nintendo's decisions lately, that's all.

On a side note,  Elfman in 12 minutes!!W00t!

Actually, it's Mario 1-2-3. It's a counting game for younger players. Awesome.
