Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo Should Release a Mario Compilation
« on: April 08, 2003, 08:33:06 PM »
If Nintendo were to persue making a Gamecube verision of Mario All-Stars, hopefully they will look to the underappreciated Sonic Mega Collection for some of the neat features.  For those that have never seen the game, SMC features character and box art and even scanned copies of the original Genesis instruction manuals.  It would be nice to see all of the small details, even interviews with Miyamoto-san or Kondo-san detailing their involvement with the series.  Chances are that if the Big N were to ever seriously consider the project, they would hand it to Nintendo Software Technologies here in the US or get a 2nd party developer to bring it together under their supervision.  Here's to dreaming...............

Nintendo Gaming / Would you want these games for Gamecube LAN?
« on: April 08, 2003, 08:24:01 PM »
You're absolutely right.  Starcraft, Warcraft, C&C or any other real time strategy PC game wouldn't be the same without a keyboard or mouse.  And as you mentioned, Starcraft 64 and C&C 64 didn't do so hot.  For Gamecube LAN strategy, it looks like the rumored Advance Wars for the GC will be the game to own.  If and when it comes out.

Nintendo Gaming / Would you play these on the Gamecube?

With the movement of resurrecting older, classic games on next generation systems growing, some of the greatist games of the arcade are still undiscovered to a youger generation of gamers.  For many who remember the older arcade games, downloading MAME and roms, or simply buying or building you own arcade cabinet are ways to relive the experience.  Most of the arcade games that were ported to consoles in the past have suffered from downgrades in both sound and graphics, but with the power of newer systems some of the older games could be released better than arcade perfect.   If a developer were to invest in bringing some of the older arcade games out for the Gamecube, what ones would you want to see?  Below is a list of potential games, but feel free to add your own.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1-4 player)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II:  Turtles in Time (1-4 player)
Golden Axe (1-3 player)
Golden Axe:  Revenge of Death Adder (1-4 player)
The Simpsons (1-4 player)
Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat II
Samurai Shodown
Samurai Shodown II
X-Men (1-4 player)
Dungeons & Dragons:  Tower of Doom (1-4 player)
Dungeons & Dragons:  Shadow over Mystara (1-4 player)

With Nintendo's rumored push for LAN capability for the Gamecube, a new opportunity may be opened for developers eager to exploit the feature.  Below is a list of some games that could be developed with the LAN party feature.  Which ones, if any, would you like to see?

Doom
Duke Nukem 3d
Shadow Warrior
Quake Series (1-3)
Unreal Tournament
Starcraft

Command and Conquer

General Chat / Has anyone played the Doom III alpha?
« on: February 18, 2003, 05:59:45 AM »
I wanted to know if anyone out there has had a hands-on with the Doom III alpha that was leaked to the net.  I've tried to search for it but all I find are 'fix' patch files that supposedly make the alpha run better.
