Title: Anyone else find this place slow?

Well do you? I mean the pages seem to take forever to load! I know this is free and that they don't even have to have this forum - but it seems to be very very slow. I mean it takes 15 - 30 seconds for a new page to load, if not longer! I dont think it's on my end because all other pages load quick as usual, just this one.
On a side note, this place looks great and I hope the speed issue is looked after. The layout, sections and feel of this place is great - I look forward to posting here often in the near future!

We're working on it. I'm monitoring the server, and it's entirely network performance, so we're tweaking a few settings and what not to see what we can do to speed things up. We've also got a few other things that will fall into place in a bit as well. Now that we've opened them up, we're expecting it to be a little slow at first as everyone goes to get their accounts, but it'll pick back up once the initial rush is over.

OK, I've added an HTTP Compression utility to the server which should significantly speed things up for all of you. If you have any problems, please let me know. There might have been a small hiccup right as I was restarting the services, but it should be all good now.

I think it worked rick. It was really slow at first but now it is flying. Well it is for me at least.

I do have one question though. THis is supposed to be a place to come and discuss things. But we arent allowed to talk about ANYTHING!! Every thing gets erased.

Yah... Pretty fast now, but slows down occassionally....perhaps it's just me...

I've noticed a pretty rare slowdown, too- I'll click on a board and the page will just kinda sit there for a while. All I have to do, though, is go back and click the link again, so it's not like it's a big deal. Works much better than a lot of other sites I go to.

Probably, rodtod- we're just so used to lightening fast speeds.
And Rick, it's not like this grasshoppers gonna summon a plague if you don't fix it- it really doesn't happen all that often anyway.
