Title: P.S.O Question
Post by: abbot on March 26, 2003, 05:31:07 PM
I was wondering if Phantasy Star Online was worth buying for the offline game? I would asume not but i need someone to clarify this.  Also I was wondering if a dail up connection would bring lag to the online game?

It's a game about collecting and trading.  The insane amount of replay value comes from the online experience.  I'd have to say no, but it all depends on the person.  I would still enjoy it, but I know when I first had PSO for DC and the BBA work-around wasn't known, I didn't touch it.

unless your really, REALLY into killing random monsters hoping they drop a certain item and chatting with other players for 9$ a month, I wouldn't get it.

I, on the other hand, have found PSO to be a fun game in both online and offline mode.  The $9 a month is a little steep, but that doesn't negate how fun the game is.  I would recommend this game to those who are fans of the genre.
