Title: Yes, my local arcade is awesome..
Post by: Dasmos on February 08, 2006, 06:09:38 PM
It seems they have replaced F-Zero AX with Mario Kart GP. I played vs. with one of my pals, it seems pretty fun. Some odd non-traditional items though, which is cool. I reckon I will go back and play again, although there is no real desire to unlock everything.

If they were really awesome, they would have kept both the F-Zero machine and put in the Mario Kart machine...

So where is this arcade?

I miss working at Playdium...  >_<

TimePlay > Credits...at least when you're trying to finish a game but suck at it...

I got 10000 wins (yes, ten thousand) in Soul Calibur II's Conquest Mode.  Too bad they didn't have that in the console versions.  ;_;  At eight rounds in an average of four minutes, that took me...83 1/3 hours.  If I hadn't worked there, and/or used Credits, that would've been prohibitively expensive.  Yay for free TimePlay cards after each shift!

For the longest time before eventually shutting down, new games were a rarity.  Soul Calibur II was one of the newest games.  I didn't think we'd have a chance to see F-Zero AX, though, and I was right.  ;_;

Your local arcade is awesome by the sheer fact that it exists.  My brother was cleaning his room a few days ago and found a token for our long defunct local arcade.  It was a sad moment.

Arcades seem to be rapidly diminishing here in the states.

As both an arcade lover and a DDR enthusiast, it sucks.

Are you kidding me?  At least around here, more and more places are spawning to play games.  I live in the Dallas area and right now Main Event (which is a bowling place, but has a pretty huge arcade) and Dave and Busters are the place to be for any birthday party, social gathering, whatever.

Not to mention there are other great places like GameWyze which basically allows you to pay to play any home console game you want...for 6 bucks an hour, it's pretty great...

You're from SA right? Is this at Intencity at Marion? I wasted like 30 bucks on that F-Zero Machine!

Yep, it's in the exact smae spot too. I spent about $15, plus the money for the card. I thought I could unlock new stuff, but it turned out that I already unlocked all the stuff in-game. Still then tilting seat was awesome.

the only place round here that has the mario kart game is like an hour away, not worth it to drive an hour to play when I have the DS and older versions.

There arent any arcade here anymore but theres a used video game store that still has like ten or so arcade machines up to play or for sale depending on how much money you wanna spend.

Don't think of it as an hour drive to get to play.  Think of it as a warm up for Mario Kart GP.  The ride home is a cool down.
