Before, during the whole "hot coffee" controversy, I thought that Jack Thompson was just another politician, completely full of hot air. Now I realize that he is a selfish man who is willing to exploit the suffering of others in an attempt to boost his own agenda, and to raise his own esteem.
One more thing, no matter how much you may dislike Jack Thompson, please dont issue threats here, or say what you may think he "deserves" that is just what he wants us to do, he wants proof of what he thinks about us gamers, so lets not give it to him.

Declaring a console as "for kids" is a result of this, for example. To devalue a set of competitors you define their console as inferior and lower them on your scale so you still feel like you are the alpha.

If it -is- an imposter, then he did a really good job emulating Jacks signature style. It read like any other Thompson manifesto.
And animecyberrat...we're not defending "violent games". We're defending all games from a religious nutbar (I'm not saying all religious people are nutbars, just certain ones) who claims that they are warping children and causing the downfall of christian morals in America, and we're also defending the idea that videogames do not a pyschopath make.
I really hope Jack gets his license revoked. He's an uninformed, politically motivated asshat who makes up more than he researches and still gets called an "Expert".

I wasnt agreeing with tompson I was only saying its dumb how you guys all get worked up over this guy who says your playing too violent video games, and I have already made it VERY WELL KNOWN that Mortal Kombat is my favorite video game series but I was already ateenager when I stered playing it,. I think LITTLE KIDS should not be allowed to play violent vidoe games, but teens and adults have the right to chose what ever they want.
Now I wasnt not saying that i agree entirely that playing violent games makes a person violent cuz I play many violent games and I am a very peaceful person in life. Again chidlren DO NOT have the saem rights as adults and they shoudnt be treaed as adults ever.
