It's because Donkey Kong doesn't have a gun, and Candy Kong doesn't appear between levels to grant DK "favors"...

Meh Gamespot gives many games lower scores. If you want higher check ign.

I tend to prefer Gamerankings anyways much nicer to look at an average

Hostile Creation: Diddo

I was interested about this game, but didn't yet think it was worthy of the $60+ price tag (I don't have bongos).

You guys seem to be insanely in love with it (especailly Bill) and since you guy are like me, NINTENDO FANS, I have to buy it now.

Also Paladin told me that my idea for Mario 128 was similar to Jungle Beat, which is.......fantastic!

My brother and I were trying to figure out how that player got 3,000 beats during that stage, but we couldn't figure it out. I remember we realized what stage it was but I forgot now. And its not spoiler at all, I could tell you what happens at the end and im pretty sure no one would care when they found out. Its alot like old Sonic games.  And its basicly a gameplay tip not a cut scene at the end.

Im pretty sure there will be a sequal to this game, I don't think for GCN though. But I wonder if we will see a few other classic characters like Diddy Kong, Rambi, Squaks, or even a barrel. Not to say I don't like the all new cast, I love them, i'd take Orco(or what ever the Orcas name is) over Enguard any day. And the pigs and new apes are pretty darn cool. But it would be nice to have some familiar faces in a new game. I wouldn't even mind tag teaming for really long stages.

Yea - I do too; I was looking at the Gamerankings site when I saw the Gamespot score

How in the heck did you manage to get over 2000 in banana kingdom? I can barely pass 1,200. There has got to be some key area I am missing.

Look at the hint movie at the end... there's a way to do that with a big combo.

Seriously?  Crazy, I got 1451.

Cactus King... anyone do better than 1248?  I got as creative as I could in there.  The only thing I might be missing are the Ninjapes.  Can't seem to grab them in that level.

I think the 3000+ score was in Cloudy Heights.  I'm pretty sure it's possible to combo that whole stage, but the little bugs are killer.

I got 3000+ in Pineapple Kingdom (both levels in two huge combos), but it wasn't the one in the clip. That was in the Chilli Pepper Kingdom, which I haven't fully explored yet, but I can already tell those bugs are going to be a hassle.

I'm just doing one level at a time now and not moving to the next one until I maximize my potential beats as best I can. Very addictive!

I still haven't even finished the game.

I do one level at a time, make sure I get at least gold, then turn off the GC for a while and get back to work.

After I'm done I'll start all over again and get platinums instead.

No affence to anyone, but Ive always hated DK games. The controls, graphics and enemies (plus the annoying abysses every where) all forced me to dislike them. Though I really did want to. Really. I have allways thought that the controls were fiddly but the bongos make it sound even harder. All your belly aching about your wrists has now really put me off it. I am very lathargic (I only just keep healthy by eating 1000kcal instead of 2000kcal.) To reiterate a) I have never liked DK b) the controls sound hard and tireing and c) why bother getting some bongos I am never going to otherwise use.
No, we're not eating Nibbler - leela

a)The controls, graphics and enemies are pretty different this time around.
b)The controls are very easy and they won't be tiring if you do one level at a time.
c)Think of it as a $60 game.

If nothing else, give it a chance somehow... rent it or play it at somebody's house. I'm not telling you you'll love it, but I am telling you there's a pretty good chance you'll be surprised.

I have braught over so many friends to play this game, and each time they see it they say "the controls look to complicated" and then I tell them their are only 3 buttons, you'll figure it out. After about 10 minutes it's so simple to them. You really should give it a chance 09n, this game is far different then any DK game befor it.

I don't believe there's a bottomless pit anywhere in this game.  If you fall, you just lose points and get knocked to the nearest platform.

btw, only four platinums left.  I'll probably have this done soon.

Hahaha, nice! But my top score in that is 2206 now.

I'd suggest we start a high score list thingy... but I don't think there's enough people here who own this game for it to be any interesting, what do you guys think?
