Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker is SOOOOOO Blurry!!!!!!
« on: June 12, 2003, 07:32:04 AM »
The blurring is done on purpose, its to focus the users eyes and give a more realistic effect.  Can you see the person standing in front of you and focus on what is 300 yards away? no you cant....if you look through the telescope, thus changing what you want to be focused on, its not blurry anymore....

NWR Feedback / Is there something wrong with the new server??

Yeah, connection to PGC has been the pits for me too.  I get "page cannot be displayed" about every other attempted load and have to hit refresh and wait again.

General Gaming / Controller Evolution: Is It Necessary?
« on: May 17, 2003, 08:30:15 AM »
I want to see a controller with a flip around stick that has a dpad on the other side.    Granted you couldn't play with both at the same time, but at least they'd be in the prime position when you did want them.  Thats why I loved the design of the N64 controller.  The two hand placements were the perfect solution, I dont' know why so many people hated this...

Nintendo Gaming / Cubivore, worth getting???
« on: May 11, 2003, 11:10:34 AM »
I played the import and loved it.  Its quirky buy entertaining to the point that even when you beat it, you still drive on the BEAT it and get all of the different animal forms.  50 bucks may be a little pricey, but if you get it for 30, I say its a definate must buy.

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo VIP - I'll give up
« on: May 06, 2003, 01:19:16 PM »
Ok, i came up with a solution for the rebooting problem, plus the addition of some added options...mind you, its very bizarre...

You have to follow these seemingly random steps exactly or you will have issues...

1. Uninstall everything you have about the nintendo theme so your computer is back to square one.
2. Go to the windowblinds site and download the shareware version of 4.0.  (Only works in XP)
3. Install 4.0 from the windowblinds site.
4. Install the nintendo theme manager.  (This for some reason builds off of the windowblinds install cause all it is is a weird version of windowblinds)
5. Move the nintendo theme into the proper folder like before.
6. Fire it up like before.
7. Now, when you go to your display properties and click on the appearance tab you will have all the window blind options and the "Game Cube" theme will show up as the one highlighted.  This is where you can get to a whole lot more window blinds options.  Now I just hope this shareware doesn't have a time limit on it.

Dang, I buy so much nintendo crap, i wish they did this in the states.  I want more of these themes so I can change it for my mood.

Thanks to all who hooked people like me up in this thread..

By the way, do you just get 'virtual' things for this registration thing in europe? or can you mail order real swag too?

Nintendo Gaming / SD Adapter
« on: May 02, 2003, 07:29:24 PM »
i know the reason people don't think this could be used as a 'normal' memory card is cause of the stupid file count limit inherent in the GCN.  Theoretically though, wouldn't it be possible to put software on the sd, format it if you will, so that it could act as multiple memory cards.  So that you would then have to pick which virtual memory card on the sd card you wanted for a particular game?

Also, do you think nintendo is going to package an sd with the adaptor?  seldomly does one find a store that would sell both a nintendo accessory and sd cards unless its like a comp usa.

At risk of getting in trouble for changing the topic to much...

I loved the monkey island games too and I was wondering how the ps2 game stacks up against the originals...any input on that?

Now for on topic...
I personally kind of flipped that pokemon was so low.  Now part of me wonders if gold/silver will be on there higher up, but that seems silly to me as red/blue launched the whole thing.  Basically i think pokemon created the concept of a persistant one player rpg, where people can just keep playing and keep playing.

I also feel games like ice climber, balloon fight, sky kid etc. should be on their for revolutionizing the 2 player co-op form of play...

oh and wrecking crew.

Is it more of a cartoony style game physics and graphics wise (like a mario kart) or more of a quasi realistic type game (like a wave race)?

NWR Feedback / Gamecube SP (add ons for Johnny's Editorial)
« on: May 01, 2003, 12:47:52 PM »
Yeah, I think Jonny has something there, and being a Q owner I wanted to add some of my thoughts.  First off, they have to do something about the wavebird receiver covering up the coolness.  I think it would be damn damn DAMN cool if they had built in wavebird receivers that weren't even visible, and it came packaged with 4 slightly different colored wavebirds.  That would be a selling point there.  Also, I don't like the feet on the q, and if they replaced that with a gameboy player that would be cool...also the gameboy player should be able to be used without a boot disc, and should have a pip mode so that you could play gamecube and gameboy at the same time.  With all of these features and lan and internet play for both gameboy and gamecube games, I think they would get some new purchasers.  Hell, I would replace my imported Q if they came out with that.  Anyone else have any thoughts?

Hey I saw this on slashdot games and they linked here.  Supposedly a new ereader with some battery style storage so that it can keep info when it isn't even plugged into the gba?  Planetgamecube hasn't reported on this...

hrmm..

edit: i don't really understand the xbox comment...do they just mean cause its big?  who knows....

7118
Even easier way is to just unplug it and plug it back in, or in the case of the wavebird, just turn it off and on...

Nintendo Gaming / Pokemon on the CUBE?!
« on: February 20, 2003, 01:21:41 PM »
My new speculation based on pokemon gba weirdnesses...

Ruby and Saffire don't link up with old gameboy games, therefore nintendo wants everyone to start over...

sounds to me like they are getting ready for a mmorpg pokemon, because one of the problems would have been people using their 5 year old ultimate pokemon...

Only 202 of the 350 some odd pokemon are obtainable in both ruby and saffire, and rom people have looked into the code and found out that the two games do have the capability of having those missing pokemon in them....

Final verdict...

Pokemon mmorpg to come out very soon and you must play it online all of the time.  It will have extensive link up capabilities with ruby and saffire and that will be the "one player mode" when your character "goes on vacation"

Yes its all speculation....but ya know...

Did you try amazon?  Thats where I just ordered my Zelda with bonus disk.  I'm sure they won't be the fastest, and I will  probably get my game a little late, but I'm assured of getting it, which is all that matters.  To do it, you have to add both TWW, and TOoT to your cart.  It will read some obscene amount of money, then when you go to check out you enter a code...I think the code is LEGNZELDSAVE but double check it to be sure.

Nintendo Gaming / This Zoonami Exclusive Game
« on: February 05, 2003, 05:08:55 PM »
I remember reading about a week or 2 back (possibly on ign) that Zoonami is working on an exclusive game for gamecube which could possibly involve a new nintendo franchise.  This seems to me like Nintendo has the goldeneye people working on a new Nintendo Exclusive first person shooter franchise.  Its basically the only genre nintendo doesn't have covered anymore because of the loss of rare.  It all seems to make sense to me, and I bet it will be pretty damn sweet if it is true.
