It's hard to say in Sony's case. While ps4 sold 116 million units, it only sold 10 million units in Japan. Sony might see its failure in Japan as a place to improve. Also, I don't think these companies buying another company would mean that a subsidiary would have to abandon a handheld or mobile market.

Currently, Sony seems to be suffering from a lot of the same problems Nintendo suffered from during the n64 era. Instead of cartridges vs cds, its covid and supply issues. I also own a ps4 so, that must be some sort of curse.

That's the thing. I see the next 3 years as a transition. I just recently played on an Oculus Quest, and I have always been a vr skeptic, and it was really cool. maybe it won't be Sony buying Japanese companies. Maybe Meta will buy Sony? Or at least the Playstation brand. That is what Facebook does. They just buy their competitors. maybe that's why Sony relocated to San Francisco? Maybe that was just a step for getting bought out.

Nintendo isn't bidding for Japanese third parties. It'll let Sony buy them then hire all the people who leave to start their own companies. Nintendo wants the talent, not the existing IPs. It seems perfectly content funding projects, particularly for exclusivity and the rights to those games, without being financially responsible for the companies themselves.

You're right in that it hasn't been their style. That's not something Nintendo usually would do. However, there are a few companies who have been integral over the years in the success of Nintendo platforms whose absence would hurt Nintendo. I think Nintendo should find a way to secure Square Enix content at the very least. And I do remember Nintendo was positioning itself to buy more Bandai Namco stock.

This isn't something that needs to be done immediately, but 3 years in the future the market is going to be a different place then it was the last 5 years. They did express interest in opening their war chest relatively recently and acquiring some companies though. If Sony gets scared of Microsoft and buys all the Japanese companies then Nintendo will go back to having no third party support. And that doesn't mean Nintendo will go anywhere. They could lose money every year until 2059 before they run out of money. Nintendo is in a similar position, albeit better, compared to where Wii was when it was ending. They're on top, but transitioning from one hardware to the other can be disastrous if flubbed.

If we look back a few years ago the talk used to be "Microsoft has no exclusives" Now it has a full library. I imagine they'll become more franchise oriented and less experimental.

This might trigger a bidding war between Nintendo and Sony for Japanese third parties.

I also recently played with an Oculus Quest 2, and I can see why when they were on network news why Microsoft/Activision Blizzard were buzzed about the metaverse.

>Heretic and Hexen

The rights to these titles are a tangled web, but Raven is generally cnsidered to be the primary holder, correct?

I think Activision owned Raven. So, whatever problems Id had with getting new Hexen and Heretic games out are now not a problem.

The Matrix Resurrections 6.5/10 - A lot of great ideas, but not put together in a way that keeps the film riveting. Another case of the trailer being better than the movie. The best I can describe this movie is chasing the dragon.

Candyman 5/10 I actually enjoyed the first 2 acts of this movie, but the third act happened at lightning speed and it made the movie terrible. This movie has some serious pacing issues. I feel like more should have been explored before it devolved.

Anyway. It does a good job making a fake person portrait most of the time. Sometimes the results are horrifying.

"Wit launch title?"

The Wit was a console Nintendo released around the same time as Wii. It was exactly the same except the branding. It's a collectors item. Very rare. They only made 42 of them. I saw one go on ebay for $9000 dollars.
The terrible thing about it was it only played Wit branded games, and there was only one of them Wit sports.

When I went to High School my programming classes were exclusively taught on CRT monitors. It was between 1998 and 2002. What a time that was. We had to store all our projects on floppy disks. I tried this wild thing of storing some program files on Geocities. Early cloud storage. Geocities gave you more space to work with than 1.43MB floppy disks.  Which, would have worked if the teacher hadn't blocked Geocities when I went to turn in a program. I told him what happened and he gave me another day because he wasn't an asshole. In college we got to move on up to zip drives and usb drives. My first usb drive was like 32MB. That was a leap in 2003/04.

Amazing Spider-man and Amazing Spider-man 2 had such radically different tones that we could argue that they are in fact different universes.

The Amazing Spider-man 2 suit was great, what I like in a Toby style Spider-man suit. But The Amazing Spider-man suit is so different that it's actually cool. The main problem with it, I assume is that it's made of rubber. I've seen some cosplay printed versions of the suit that have the same look, but are probably comfortable.

I've been playing a lot of n64 games with bumped up resolution recently, and good Art design stands the test of time. Take Quest 64 vs Aidyn Chronicles. Quest 64 is a much better designed game.

Cathode Ray Tubes were a dominant technology for much of the 20th century. I think kids should know about them, and how they had superior refresh rates and color depth to our current LCD monitors. I recently bought an n64 USB controller and I was playing Mortal Kombat 4 and I noticed there was an amount of input lag that really hindered my ability to perform fatalities. I think if CRT monitors were lighter we'd still be using them.

That has always been an issue in comic book movies. The Dark Knight left the Joker alive at the end, but unfortunately Heath Ledger had passed away. Killing villains in their first outing is bad for franchises. Thor did this right. Which is why we were able to have the Loki series. Although, Loki has died a bunch of times.

Because Sony wants too keep making billions of dollars of Spider-man expect:

The Amazing Spider-man 3 (Andrew)

The Web of Spider-man (Tobey) - I imagine some Dr. Strange 2 Sam Raimi stuff is going to go down with Tobey. Make it a TV show.

The Spectacular Spider-Man (Tom) - The home series is over, Tom is now able to go forward as a man without the need for father figures.

It would also be interesting to find out that they all have hand web powers, they just didn't know it. The fact that they can synthesize it artificially is just a result of Spider-knowledge.

I bought Cubivore for $15 in 2007.

I bought GCN component cables for $12 around the same time

I wish we didn't return my broken Atari Jaguar though.
I still got Alien Vs Predator and the box

Still got this
Stickers fucked though

These aren't my listings.

Spider-man No Way Home: 8/10 - one of the top movies in Spider-man history. It has issues,  but they're minor. The first act is hilarious. It slows down a bunch in the third act. It's one of those cases where the fight scenes are better in the beginning of the movie. Great all around.

For years I read all these comments about "How does spider-man make such a crazy suit? How could he possibly make such a suit without help?"

And the answer has always been Spiders weave webs. Spider-man has superhuman knitting and sewing skills.

also What If The symbiote suit found Miles Morales in the MCUverse. Has this ever happened in the comics?
