Buy Gamestop stock, don't ask why, just put everything into it.

Lol, what a saga that has been. Although I do kick myself for not buying Nintendo stock 5 years ago. I was so close to calling my bank to see or set-up how I could do that but didn't make the call and have watched it rise steady since then. Why did I get cold feet of having my money tied up like that for awhile?

Last time I wanted to do stocks I found out what would have been my brokerage service needed me to have $5000 in my bank account just to get started, which I didn't have. Everything I would have invested in would have done well...

You need to find a better brokerage service then. Vanguard is generally regarded as a good one and I don't believe you need a minimum to start there. I use Fidelity since that is where my company's 401k is managed. Robinhood is on everyone's **** list because of the Gamestop shenanigans so I'd avoid them for the time being.

I learned enough to make an informed decision once it hit 140 the other day and I didn't have enough liquid to feel it was worth the effort to jump on the bandwagon. But its been fun to watch the show. I also tend to avoid single stocks and focus on indexes and mutual funds. My 401k is in mutual funds since I'm limited by employer selection, but that's been doing above market average. Last time I ran the cumulative numbers I was at 16% rate of return over 5 years.

Well that was 8 years ago. I think it was Scott Trade, which is now defunct.
