Back in my wild, game-dominating days in which I could be totally obsessive over this game, yes, I'd have all kinds of analysis written up. But I'm out of practice with this game actually. I'm not as sharp as I used to be. I don't have my good-luck charm of thatguy in these games anymore. Together, we could break these games. Ah, what fun. Nope, I try to relax a bit these games and just enjoy my time in them as they become less and less frequent.
Last game, you may recall I threw out some quick hot takes before I was voted out which was based on my gut reactions to the events leading up to that point. I had been doing no real analysis that game and in my quick list, I mentioned a few people I thought were innocent with 2 of them being mafia. In the list of 5 - 6 people I thought could be mafia only 2 maybe ended up being mafia. And the one person I voted for and truly thought could be mafia ended up being the detective who was one of the final winners of the game.
This game, I supported apdude and thought nickmitch was mafia from his accusations of me yesterday and then his vote on me. But nickmitch turned out to be a townie and apdude was mafia so once again I continue to put my eggs in the wrong basket. I'm tempted to join you with your Insanolord vote as I have voted for him the past couple days but I'm just not sure at this point. I thought when he escaped the tie situation with apdude that there may have been some mafia machinations going on but with apdude revealed as mafia, I don't think that theory is right. But maybe he is mafia and two members were targeted at the same time. Beats me.
In the past, I used to send out messages to all kinds of players and analyze them over and over and send out all kinds of different information to see what sort of reactions would occur. I don't send out many messages anymore in these games. In fact, I use to be pretty bold in what I'd say and in getting the ball rolling with starting a dialogue with most players. Now, I'm almost afraid I'm pestering or disturbing a player when I send a pm. I've sort of phased out that portion of my game so that more activity can take place in the game instead of the inbox which could make for some boring Day threads. I haven't stopped sending messages altogether just not in the same investigative style I used to.
I'm just try to keep to a more casual mode of play in these games. I started to fall out of that as the Day 3 began to wind down but, once again, I was reminded how time-consuming that can be and it was all for naught anyways. It seems there are some players in the know this game and even though I'm not in that group yet, I'm ok with that. I worried sometimes that my dictation of gameplay at times may have held players back or would get tired of people targeting me because I couldn't find a mafia member in the first two days to vote out and then when I was gone, no one really seemed to step up in investigating and things would fall apart for the remaining players on my side. The fact that there are other players this game who have abilities and are clearly using them well makes me happy about the future of this game. I'm glad to see that I don't have to play as hard as I used to and that I'm not needed as much for weeding out the mafia. So many games I would start out just trying to have fun and make some jokes but after 3 such posts, I'd often myself either struggling to survive the game or abandon making fun posts to post serious and big walls of text outlining different scenarios. For once, players are just letting me be and with the way things are going this game, I may even be able to enjoy a win in which someone else did all the work and I just happened to take cash in on for the sole reason that I was still alive when it happened instead of all the times I got win bringing along other players who hadn't done much or sometimes anything in the game.
But look what you've gone and done. You've got me reminiscing and writing a big block of text like the old days. Good one, ShyGuy. You fooled me. Now do your own analysis for once. Khushrenada don't care. I just don't want to screw things up for the townies and ruin a potentially good thing here.
