Being weirdly involved in obtaining data? Your guess is as good as mine.

I understood your comment, and I referenced the saying because it's a defeatist stance. Sony doesn't want to put the work into designing new controllers for their system- they want the tech to be shiny and the games to be pretty- and for the most part, gamers tend to be okay with that. The reason Nintendo's fallen behind in recent years is because of their continuous innovation and focus on revolutionizing the gameplay experience and not focusing on other aspects. Hopefully we see them tackle both with the Wii U (which appears to be the case). Nintendo's working overtime while Sony sits on their ass waiting to see what Nintendo comes up with and re-shell it. (Un)Fortunately, Nintendo draws the developers who are truly interested in using their hardware and are on-board with their ideas, but they still lag behind because of overall technical inferiority. But we're talking about Sony. And the Classic Controller's no Gamecube controller, sadly...Well, if it ain't broke...
The GameCube controller was fine the way it was, yet Nintendo still created the Wii Remote and Classic Controller.
I was referring to your "if it ain't broke" comment. Nintendo constantly makes new controllers for their consoles, but Sony likes to stick to their basic DualShock design. How are their PlayStation consoles going to evolve gameplay-wise if they keep using the same controller? Imagine if each new Nintendo console used the same SNES controller.
But we're talking about Sony. And the Classic Controller's no Gamecube controller, sadly...Well, if it ain't broke...

Just who exactly is a 1st-party Nintendo developer? I know of the following:Gack. You're selling Intelligent Systems far too short. Those guys rocked the Paper Mario series, as well as Pushmo. WarioWare is far from their best game... IMO.
- Retro Studios
- Intelligent Systems (WarioWare)
- HAL Labs (Kirby, Smash Bros. series)
- Project Sora (Masahiro Sakurai's joint venture with Nintendo, created Kid Icarus Uprising)
- The Pokemon Company
- Game Freak (Pokemon main seiries)
- Monolith Soft (Xenoblade)
- EAD (Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, etc.)
- EAD Tokyo (DK Jungle Beat, Super Mario Galaxy series, Super Mario 3D Land)
- Nintendo Software Technology / NST (Mario vs DK series, Metroid Prime Hunters)
Am I missing some developers?
Well, if it ain't broke...It doesn't make any less sense than the layout Sony's stuck with for the better part of two decades, and just from looking at it it seems like it would be significantly more comfortable than that. I am looking forward to getting my hands on it and giving it a go, so we'll see how I feel about it three weeks from now.
Speaking of Sony, I really hope they redesign the PlayStation controller for the PS4. I remember they wanted to go with that "boomerang" controller when they showed the first PS3 prototype, but they ultimately returned to the good ol' DualShock.
The thing is, we've been using the same damn controller for the past 15 years (the DualShock first came out in 1997). Isn't it time for a change? Nintendo constantly comes out with new controllers for each of their consoles, so why can't Sony do the same?
Noted. I just checked the ECloud service though, and that's what they had on the site... in any case, Nintendo could offer a little bit more, I think, especially if they want to push the system. 512MB implies the same amount of games I bought for my Wii, which was a pretty poor amount. It could be a solution to the lack of internal storage space if Nintendo wanted to, I don't know, actually stay ahead of the game and offer something other consoles don't have, but a mere 512 MB is a joke. Amazon gives you 30 gigs FREE upon using their service.Amazon only offers 5GB of free space. That is still a lot more than 512MB. But so far, on my PS Plus account, 512MB is more than enough. I have over 30 game saves in my online storage and have yet to crack 100MB of space used. Unless a save file is overbloated (the largest file I have on there is about 3MB), then 512MB should be more than sufficient for save files.
Noted.Or are we going with ridiculous over-the-top speculation? This is a kytim thread. Realistic expectations and speculation have no place here.
Well this would sure-as-hell solve the internal memory issue.
Hopefully this hasn't been posted previously, but Wii U to have Cloud storage. Looks like it will be used just for profile and save data so the 512 mb doesn't sound so low when that is taken into consideration.Quote- involves the Nintendo Network
- allows for 512 MB of online storage to each gamer
- storage tied to each Nintendo Network profile
- exclusively for save games and player profile data
- launching in Japan first
- supposedly working with Seattle, WA-based Mozy, Inc.to handle this
- source says Nintendo approached Mozy in 2010
- integrated into Wii U channels

I hope that I don't have to see you go- I've been noting that signature for far too long now.I can't wait to see the Caterkiller lynch mob that forms when it turns out you let us all down with your false hope! &P
Fear not friends, for my source sensed all the i'll will toward me and said this today:
"Watch man, people are going to be blown away by the Wii U news."
Tis true today, as the day it was written.
