Digital Deluxe Promotion Redemption Site Now Live
« on: December 07, 2012, 11:48:05 AM »

Have you been buying digital games on your Deluxe Wii U? Time to cash in!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/32743

The Digital Deluxe Promotion website, which allows you to redeem earned points for eShop credit, is now live in North America. The site can be found at http://ddp.nintendo.com and will require you to sign in with your Nintendo Network ID.

Wii U Deluxe owners will earn approximately one point for every ten cents spent in the Nintendo eShop. 500 of these points can be redeemed for a $5 eShop credit, which can be spent on either the Nintendo 3DS or Wii U eShop. This is the only current method of redemption, meaning that until you earn 500 points, you cannot redeem points for credit at all.

The site also gives you the opportunity to look at point history, showing you how many points you've earned, from which purchases on the Wii U eShop.

Not really. You bought the game for $9.99, not $10.

So I've got $15 to spend from this, and I'm not sure what to get.

EDIT: Also, do we get DDP points for spending these credits or are they taken out of it?

I'm fairly sure Nintendo has stated that it does not work that way.

Most retail rewards programs usually reward a single point for every DOLLAR spent, so this actually pretty nice.

i earned $5, but i won't redeem it until later. I'm really happy nintendo is doing this, I wish more 3rd party games wee on e-shop. I wanted to buy batman on e-shop but no deal so i got it at retail for $10 off so it still worked out for me. I do wish more cheap games were available, i would have picked up nano assault for $5

I'd probably spend more money if the virtual console shop was open. Those $5 NES and $8 SNES games are much more in the impulse buy category than some of the stuff I've seen in the eShop, and they obviously add up as impulse buys. In a single month I could somehow justify spending $20 on 4 NES games than $20 on just Trine 2 :/

EASYCURE: I remember thinking(don't ask me why) this was a blond haired, blue eyed, chiseled athlete. Like he looked like Seigfried before he became Nightmare.

But Trine 2 is so GOOD! On the contrary, this type of promotion should make experimental purchases that much easier because it's essentially "free" money. Besides, Trine 2 is a game that I implore ANYONE who doesn't know what to buy on the eShop to get. It is an awesome game.
