How to really stay fresh this fall.

Splatoon 3 is going to be getting a big push in hardware as well.

Nintendo have announced that a Switch OLED themed with Splatoon 3 will release on August 26. It will retail for the standard Switch OLED MSRP (US$359.99 or equivalent), and have a white dock with blue and yellow Joy-Cons.

A Splatoon 3-themed Pro Controller (blue and yellow handles) and a white, branded carrying case will be available alongside the game itself on September 9.

I love Splatoon, so this is tempting. Im still using a launch day Switch. I kind of want it more for the collection than anything.

It is really nice looking. If I were buying a new switch now I would get this one.

I'd been rocking my launch day switch as well. A few reasons I actually picked this up when I found it in-stock at a local store last week:
  • The better battery life
  • The improved screen
  • The kicker: while visiting my nephews, one of them dropped my switch and cracked the case and part of one of the controllers. It still works, but I'm relegating it to docked mode from now on.
So far, I'm loving it. I play mostly in handheld mode, so the better battery and screen are major perks. And the design is neat (the glossy/matte illustrations even seem to have the benefit of making the joycons feel a little grippier). All in all, I guess I'm glad my nephews are rambunctious little balls of energy? :P
