TalkBack / Re: Wii U Press Event Set for September 13 in New York City

A November release date is not surprising at all.  I just think Nintendo is cutting it very close to release solid info.  They could build hype but instead their silence has just created confusion and pessimism.  They should have released this info at E3.

Plus one thing Nintendo probably completely fails to realize - for all this talk about trying to get core gamers back and not just be the casual guys, their secretive nature does not appeal to the core.  That audience expects info at E3, not a mere two months before release.  They want to talk videogames and they can't talk about silence and secrecy.  Here on this very site we don't just like Nintendo games, we like to talk about them and share our excitement for future releases.  We can't do that if Nintendo is tight lipped until the last minute.  So the general core gamer isn't talking about Nintendo.  He's talking about all the other games that he actually finds out about at E3.  That conversation creates hype and keeps a company "current" even between releases.  It's part of gaming........yada yada yada

Basically this

it looks... really great. I like how relaxing it is.

Here's hoping it doesn't play like those god awful MK games. The most recent one is okay at best.

I just watched the Ubisoft demonstration of KFFOS, and I’m wondering if most of the exclusivity revolves around heavy use of the Wii U controller; but who knows, Ubisoft is really jumping on board with Wii U, which is great. And I realize this is an unfinished game from last year, but I just wasn’t impressed with the visuals. I primarily play Wii games so I don’t consider myself a graphics whore. When I play games like Galaxy and Skyward Sword, I’m used to seeing the console’s abilities pushed to the max. I assume Nintendo will continue this philosophy.  Is it wrong to want an experience on the first “next-gen” platform that isn’t possible on current consoles, at least visually (controller aside)? I’m not setting sky-high expectations for Nintendo’s E3 conference because I don’t want to be disappointed. I just want Nintendo and 3rd-parties show something on the Wii U, which will make all the naysayers choke on their own rage and ignorance. Nintendo already has an uphill battle in winning the hearts and minds of “gamers” who insist on comparing it to competing consoles that haven’t even been shown. As stupid as this may be, it’s a real problem that the gaming media will perpetuate.

really you nailed it with that one. I hope that Pikmin is what shows off the Wii U's power as it is a first party game and the firt one still holds up today.

I guess i'm the only per who really loved this game. Everyone seems to have the same problems with it, but the 'bad story' isnt bad at all IMO. It's not great, but i found it entertaining. i guess you have to be a real sci-fi anime fan to enjoy it.

By far the best eshop game to date IMO. More stuff for free just proves it. Good stuff Matt Bozon and wayforward.

I don't know how to feel about this. :-\

This isn't really my cup of tea... i mean how the hell would i play on the train? then again I am extremely confused by this so i might just be too stupid to comprehend the vast potential that AR brings.

I'd love to see a game use this for things like shinning lights on a ghost, or looking around to find something

looks good. I hope its better then the 2 on DS. Those two are the worst in the series  by far.

I don't think they can go any higher then 300 USD if its released as a stand alone. Or with a Wii sports title. HOWEVER if they release it with Mario then can go up $50 and if they release some kind of bundle where you get more stuff. (i.e. Classic controller, wii motionplus controller, zapper, etc) i can see it going for 400 smackers. But they NEED  to have a cheaper $300 model to compete with aging cheaper systems.*cough* 99 dollar 360 *cough*

although i am a firm believer in the old saying  "you get what you pay for "

Am i the only person that wants a Skyward Sword HD remix at E3? I mean that game is beautiful on its own sure but I'd LOVE to see that art style in 1080p with smoother polish on all textures. (not just upconverted like dolphin)

How about the level uploading? I downloaded a ton of stages on brawl and I'd love to see that kind of stuff on the Wii U.

Maybe with mario kart or NSMB.

TalkBack / Re: Metroid Fusion

Best metroid game IMO. I have them all and i love the series but this game was just on another level when it came out. Prime blew my mind sure but when fusion released (almost along side it) I felt like i was playing a perfected Super metroid and what more could anyone possibly ask for.

Well they did an amazing job that banter was easily the best part of the game for me...well done tree house.

"Oh, you want balance? You got it. You know those Club Nintendo blog posts I write? I've written favorable reviews of Kirby patches, Hanafuna cards, Mario & Co. figurine, Mario buttons, and DS game case. I wrote unfavorable pieces about the Wii Remote holder aaand the Handheld History cards (which you threw a hissy fit about). So for Club Nintendo rewards, guess what? I'm MORE Positive than negative. But that's not good enough, is it? What kind of skew would you like to see? 90-10? 95-5? 'Cause it's not 50/50, and it's not 80/20, either.

Oh, but I'm sure I'm just misunderstanding you. In fact, it seems people misunderstand you a LOT. As a rhetoric major who drafts and interprets construction contracts for a living, I can tell you that the fault lies not with the audience. Want to be a better rhetor? Go study Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, Cicero and Quintillion. When you can form a cohesive argument clearly, concisely, and free of argumentative fallacies, we'll talk."

That was completely unprofessional and insulting. What is this IGN?

As a new reader this is extremely off putting. I may not return if i am spoken to this way

SOLD. this is a day one buy for me.

I couldn't be more happy with the way this game is turning out. These screens have made this a day one buy for me. As a fan of the older games i have found memories of finding a darker side to disney with the "illusion" games.

I'm thinking a new robot wars game.
