I'm getting this on your recommendation. Thanks!

Hooray for another 3D game! Wouldn't it be cool if they released it with AM2R packed in as an unlockable bonus? That would be the ultimate fan service.

Why oh why can't they release this form factor with a 3D display? They could even call it the 3D New 2DS XL! It would align perfectly with their philosophy of confusing hardware branding.

Yeah it seems like more of an armor/weapon pack in a BoTW treasure box. I doubt they would try to recreate Link with Skyrim assets. That makes me thing of the Mario costume Bayonnetta *shudder*

The title doesn't feel right in my mouth. No sir, I don't like it.

I will probably continue my tradition of  downloading the Packet Relay Tools and nothing else, unless there are no Packet Relay Tools, in which case I will chase korok seeds.

You might have to use that save data backup app from the eShop. Basically it lets you copy save data from a cart onto your 3DS, so you can use the saved game for the eShop version of the game. It's useful if you are borrowing a game from a friend and want to keep your save, or if you decide to sell a game cartridge and download the game instead.

If they made a 3D version I would buy one at launch. It's disappointing to see 3D left behind. Glasses free 3D with eye tracking is groundbreaking technology and now we can only dream of what HD Nintendo games might have looked like on a "3DS HD". And while I'm lamenting... why are there not more New 3DS models??? The thing sold out so fast in North America and the resale price is over $200 for a used one. Still, it's nice to see the 3DS still alive and kicking in some form. Thanks for the in depth review. If anything, it will be a nice system for VC and DS games.

Level design is going to be the clincher for this one. I hope Arzest can plug their inadequacies long enough to push out a solid experience this time around.

10
Yeah! Where's the "Hot Springs" DLC this game richly deserves?

Perhaps they will release it alongside "Paya's Birthmark Challenge".

No swimsuits for Zelda and hot Zora girl? Pfah!

One of my favorite games of all time is set in a world where a very christian-like Theocratic order is manipulating two noble houses into running their nations into the ground so that they can swoop in when the commonfolk reach a fevered pitch and properly cement a Holy empire over the aristocracy, causing the deaths of millions. This game also paints it's messiah figure as little more than a spy and rabble rouser that was built up by the church as being the son of God, and this is all presented to you through a scripture that in the thinly veiled analogy would be something akin to the gospel of Judas.

WHAT IS THIS?

And Greg, YES, Panzer Dragoon should come to Switch. In fact, what a great time this would be to start bringing a bunch of great Saturn Games back. Sega should just do what NeoGeo is doing instead of making Sonic Generations again.

14
I really like the new format too. It's brisk, direct, and easily navigable. But yeah those Arms and Splatoon segments could have been broken up somewhat. What would be even better than those rundowns is some insight into the development of some of these games or hardware or something. A more complete take on Nintendo as a whole would be nice. Especially since Iwata Asks is forever lost to us. Who knows what cool history tidbits or hidden developer stories we will miss out on now?

I don't mind the prices so far. These Switch games have a portabie gameplay feature that is not present on other platform versions. And I have a hunch that physical releases will retain a good resale value in the long run, relative to disc formats.

TalkBack / Re: WB Clarifies LEGO City Undercover Storage Situation
« on: March 29, 2017, 03:07:20 PM »
Ok so the Xbox Marketplace shows that the game download will be approximately 18GB. On the eShop it's 7.1 GB. The Wii U version was 19GB.

Who's lying here?

Maybe there is better use of data compression on the Switch version due to the extreme need to conserve space.

17
The disadvantages of this storage format are far outweighed by the positive aspects of the system. And high capacity SD cards are getting cheap. A few weeks ago I was pricing name brand 200GB cards for $35 new.

18
The publisher could be trying to save money on a high capacity cart by splitting the data between cart and a mandatory "patch". Or, simultaneous streaming from the SDXC and game cart could theoretically shorten the load times for a big open world game like this.

Ok thanks. This storefront is only temporary right? I hope Nintendo gets a smarter storefront than PS and Xbox. Keeping DLC in a separate category from games would be a breath of fresh air.

So I went to download "I am Setsuna" on my Switch today and it's no longer on the eShop. Did anyone else notice this? Btw it is still on the web browser storefront for purchase, and as an aside, I discovered that the cartridge Japanese version is going for $60-$70 USD and it includes English and French subs. Might go with this one simply for the opportunity to recover some of the cost later down the road.

Edit: The cartridge version prices are from Amazon and Ebay, new condition with free shipping.

I haven't had any Joy-Con problems. This system is a dream come to life as far as I'm concerned. And FYI, the Skinomi screen protector is about as good as you can get. I've used them on my Switch, Vita, and Wii U. There is a liquid spray that you use when placing the protector that helps get some of the dust and bubbles out, then over the next couple days the rest of the bubbles and liquid somehow evaporate through the plastic and the ripples clear up to give a nice smooth surface. The liquid also helps with placement. It lets the protector slide around a little until you get it in just the right spot. Very good protectors and the price is nice.

I can get behind this. When you really like something, it's worth supporting.
(That said, three days in and we've only played like 2 hours - mostly spent climbing trees and trying to catch fish with my kids. Not sure I need more content. At this rate we'll be playing for years...)

For real.  I hear there is a town in the game, but rock climbing is where it's at. Also I cooked a mushroom and went over that way somewhere for a long time.

It's a little irritating that they don't release each campaign separately. My brother really wants to try SK but PoS and SoT are a little too tough for him and he doesn't want to shell out $25 for trilogy that he may not even like. If each pack was around $8-10 alone that would be the sweet spot.

I like BotW so much that I sort of just paid for this without asking questions and actually tried to shove some more money into the game slot on the console. I don't really know what I'm doing anymore, just please give me more of this game Nintendo!

Are any of these NeoGeo games good? I've heard NeoGeo made a lot of crap back in the day.
