Ya know, the one great thing about Miis is that anyone can pick it up and do it. Just hand someone the remote and they can figure it out.

Sure, Sony might have better looking ones but you're gonna have to go through 100 steps to do it.

General Gaming / RE:System Shock & Deus Ex

I was such a fan of System Shock 2. It was one of the creepiest games I ever played. Used to play with headphones on and it would scare the crap out of me. The sounds would get me everytime.

You hear the ship creeking and sparks flying out...next thing you know a human with crap sticking out of head is walking towards you and swings at you with a wrench while wispering "Kill me, please" You kill him and move on, then you hear a creepy sound of a monkey somewhere.

The game was awesome. I ended up losing my copy before I could get too far into it, so I have no clue what I missed.

On a side note, I checked out Bioshock's website and was able to go check it out just fine. Although the flash site won't let me click on anything except screenshots, so I went to the HTML site and got more info, try going to check that one out.

Just read a review on Legend of Kage...and I'll probably be passing on this one.

Games with ninjas in should, as a rule, be excellent. Legend of Kage does contain ninja-related tomfoolery, but the lead character looks daft and is the proud owner of one of the most useless swords in the history of videogames. It has a tiny attack range and this results in much frustration on the part of the player.

Should be coming out Feb 19th. I never got to play this one, but I loved the first one!

I've seen reports of press release from 4 days ago that listed it as March 5th. Last time I saw one that said Q2 was at the end of Jan.

associatedcontent.com
gameinfowire.com
Nwiizone.com

Then again, I've seen reports on Feb 6th and 7th that say Q2
gwn.com

More and more things seem to be saying March 5th.

Opera is asking for user feedback for the Opera browser on the Nintendo Wii. On Opera’s Nintendo Wii portal page (sorry, it’s only accessible via the Wii) there’s a link for a feedback page.

I also found a Opera Community forum that discusses different things about the Wii browser.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Turtle Beach launches Wii headphone
« on: February 14, 2007, 11:33:01 AM »
OK, a few questions I have.

One: What makes this thing any different than any other wireless headset? True I haven't seen many over-the-ear (as opposed to over-the-head) wireless ones, but other than that...nothing.

Two: Does it transmit by infared or RF? RF is better because it doesn't need "line of site" but it does sometimes cause a little noise interferance. Also I wonder if it is IR, will it interfer with the remote

Three: Why did they have to make the base look so ugly? They should have at least used one that looked a little on the same lines as the Wii

And a statement.

Doesn't look like it does anything for the sound coming from the remote itself. So, sure it will cut out all the sounds of Zelda while your roommate is trying to study, but they still have to listen to Midna's little sinister laugh.

Think I'll be passing on this one

I used to play a game called Shattered Galaxy from Nexon. It was pretty fun, they changed ownerships and I haven't played much sense.

That's the question I'm wondering. I had mine on the thrid party tray, it was one where you can put 4 games on one side, 4 remotes and nunchucks on the other side.

The first thing I noticed was the lack of the hole on the bottom, the second thing was that it doesn't sit in it very well. But it was a present from my girlfriend so I thought I'd use it....I noticed the Wii getting pretty warm, so I moved it back to it's regular stand and it's still a little warm, but not too bad.

So I'm wondering if the people who are complaining about heat are using the third party trays? If so, if you're Wii fails due to overheating, can you hold that company responsible?

Also make sure the Wii isn't sitting on top of anything else that generates a lot of heat, like setting your Wii on top of a home audio receiver/dvd player that's almost always on. Just set it back on it's OEM stand and put it on a shelf.

Go to Gamestop.com, they are doing a 10% off Accessories, enter ACC10 as coupon code, you might also try SAVER as coupon code and get free shipping, not sure if you can do both at the same time.

Yeah, I remembered when WarioWare: Mega Party Game$ came out I read reviews about it and was totally excited about it....but I didn't see any pictures of it. Then I went to go buy it, looked at the box and thought "Wait, this can't be the same game, looks like crap" So I didn't buy, read some more reviews, realized it was the same game so I said what the hell and bought it. Played it for hours with friends. It's so much fun.

It's pretty clear you've never played WarioWare before.....

yes on the outside it's retarded as hell.....but once you play it you can't stop!

No, I think that was a good review. I used to play that game all the time on my brothers genesis. The review basically says, "Hey, it ain't worth 800 points unless you're a fan" The only reason I'd buy it is for the nostalgia of it. But since I'm an arcade Tech and I have a full size arcade version of Altered Beast, I'd much rather play that.

Wow...I've been gone from this board forever...anyway..

For VC reviews check out this page
VC Review

It's a page based in the UK but has all the US info too.

They seem to give pretty decent reviews. Such as Altered Beast
Quote

Considering it's one of the first games for Sega's Megadrive, it would be foolish to expect this to be a 'must have' title on the Virtual Console. However Altered Beast has a charm that few other games have. The speech is priceless (who could forget the first time they heard the immortal words: "Wise Fwom You Gwave"?) and although the gameplay is pretty basic, it's fun while it lasts - which isn't very long, to be perfectly honest. Even a gamer of average skill should be able to complete this in the space of a day or two

Is it worth 800 points? Probably not. You could probably pick up a Megadrive and a copy of the game for less. But if you were a fan of the game all those years ago, you could do a lot worse than give this a spin

I also heard Best Buy on Sunday. Although they said "call mid-afternoon to make sure they showed up" I was at work so couldn't talk to much, but I'm pretty sure it meant they'd be in sunday afternoon. I have a buddy that works at one so I'll double check as soon as I can. Either way, I think I'll stop by BestBuy on sunday morning
