The "Share your Holiday 2008 Shopping List" Thread
« on: August 13, 2008, 02:39:44 PM »
I'm taking this from another thread before it gets derailed.  Nick and I were talking about the ridiculous amounts of games we purchase, so I thought I'd share my pre-order list for the rest of the year.  Here's what it looks like:

Rock Band 2 (360)
Fallout 3 Survival Edition (360)
Fable II Collector's Edition (360)
Gears of War 2 Amazon Exclusive Edition w/Lancer (360)
NHL 09 (360)

Still pending pre-orders:

LittleBigPlanet (PS3) - Waiting to see who offers the Kratos Sackboy skin
Resistance 2 (PS3) - Waiting to see if they're going to offer a Collector's Edition

There's nothing on Wii or DS that I'm dying to have, but I'll probably find something worth buying on the DS side by the end of the year.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World -- an action-based multiplayer RPG I can play with my friend for an entire week.

Otherwise, I have a hefty backlog of games to work on anyway, besides working on videos, updating my site, lolling at Nintendo destroy the industry, etc.

Shame on everyone who doesn't have Little King's Story on their shopping list.

So, uh, any game I plan on getting from now until the end of the year?  Okay!  Well, hmmm, I plan to get Sam & Max (Wii) and Wario Land Shake (Wii), as well as any DS games I get, without preorders, so I'll leave those out...

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (Wii) -> Holding out for a preorder bonus
Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii)
Little King's Story (Wii)
Tales of Vesperia (360)
Infinite Undiscovery (360)
Fable II (360)
Little Big Planet (PS3)

And *tee hee* at Silks getting the Lancer/Gears bundle... :tpg:

Shame on everyone who doesn't have Little King's Story on their shopping list.

And yes!

When's dead Rising coming out?

Capcom was vague with the date...Probably early next year (January/February-ish)...

(Actually, checking again, they CLAIM it will be out this year...)

When is Little kings Story coming out?

December 15th!

Hmmm... I don't celebrate any of the assumed holidays, so I'll just take a stab and go for winter releases. Right off the top of my head is:

Fallout 3 (PC)
Guitar Hero: World Tour (Wii)
Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii)

I'll have to dig some more for others, I guess...

Tales of Vesperia (360)
Infinite Undiscovery (360)
Fable II (360)

You're like me...more massive games than you have time to play them.  Like I'm actually going to be able to play through Fallout 3 and Fable 2 in any reasonable about of time.  I'm just kidding myself...but it helps me sleep at night.

And *tee hee* at Silks getting the Lancer/Gears bundle...

It's my private shame.  Actually, no idea how I'm going to explain this one to my better half...I'll never forget when I unboxed the Halo 3 Legendary Edition in front of her and pulled out the massive cathelmet.  Most embarassing video game moment ever.  She was like, "What the hell is THAT?!" and then started laughing.  Not with me, but more at me and my ridiculous cathelmet.

Yeah, I'm pretty bad at limiting game purchases...The problem is that if I delay buying a game long enough, I'll either forget about it or lose interest in it completely, even if it's a game that I will truly enjoy if I buy...So to circumvent that I just buy every game I have an interest in right away... =(

My birthday is in December so I typically make a combined list for that and Christmas.  I throw the games I want on the list and if I don't get them I buy them myself a few months later.

This year's list:
Guitar Hero: World Tour (Wii)
Warioland: Shake (Wii)

If Korg DS-10 comes out in time that gets priority as well.

There's not nearly enough Mega Man 9 on these lists.  In fact, ShyGuy's the only person to even mention a downloadable title

HOLY ****.  Out of curiosity, I did a search for the GoW2 Lancer that Silks is getting.  No wonder you're afraid your significant other is going to make fun of you.  Good luck on that one.

Silks' original post specified "for the rest of the year".  Besides, Nintendo probably won't release the game until November because that's how they roll.
