Moon. 8/10. I like sci-fi generally, but this was a small tight story where one actor virtually did all the work. The story itself has already been done in some fashion by both Stargate and Star Trek Voyager but it's still a good watch.

The Evolution of Hollywood's leading men.

I like old movies best, anyhow.

That picture depresses me, though I do have a soft spot for Seth Rogen...

Who is that supposed to be at the start of the line?

my rating scale seems totally verified by the position of both dragon ball and gi joe in the same rating, they are both based off of the same type of source material, but they both have the same downfall. Imagine what Gi Joe's Dark Knight could be to Rise of Cobra's Batman Forever

The Evolution of Hollywood's leading men.

Where's one for the women?

Yeah. If the leaving men are bad, the leading women are much worse.

To be honest, though, the caricatures are drawn in such a way that it took me a while to recognize most of the leading men. Seth Rogen was the only one I could pin point right away considering he is very different.

I knew Ben Stiller and Seth Rogen as soon as I saw it.
I thought the first one was Connery as bond and had no idea about the other 2.

The Getaway starring Steve McQueen. Man, this was a weird movie. Not weird in a strange hallucigenic or Pan's Labrynth kind of way. Weird as in I don't get why people did what they did or what the point of certain things was. And yet, I'm going to give an 7.5 out of 10.

The movie starts off fine enough with McQueen shown in prison life and then getting out and starting on a heist. The heist and the aftermath are alright as well since you're unsure how things are going to go. But during this time, you begin to wonder why some people act the way they do or where the movie is heading or how it hopes to resolve itself. And that feeling never really leaves you. Nor do I think the movie every really does resolve itself well. There were still too many questions in my mind. Plus, the way they try to put a bit of a spin on the main characters and try for a bit of a happy ending is laughable.

I guess the best way to describe the movie is that it is a bit like a modern Bonnie and Clyde. Still, the movie is such a mixed bag of things that I feel it did right and things that I feel it could have done better.

At the end of the day, I still have to recommend this movie for the sheer fact that it stars Steve McQueen. Anything with him in it is must-see. He truly is the King of Cool. Just watching him on screen, you feel a part of that cool as well. Watching him chase down a con artist who stole his suitcase of money or walking down the street with a shotgun and blasting a police cruiser help cement that reputation. Although, I did think he lost a bit of that cool in one scene where he slaps up MacGraws character in anger a bit. But he soon redeems himself and goes back into full swagger mode soon thereafter.
Whoever said, "Cheaters never win" must've never met Khushrenada.

I just got back from GI Joe and I have to say that I was impressed. It stayed truer to the cartoon/comic then I originally thought it would be. It was a fun action movie all around. I really hope they make a sequel because it could be tons of fun as well. Now I'll admit I still prefer Transformers 2 to it, but overall I can see myself watching the movie again. So I'd give it a 7/10. For what it is, a popcorn action flick, it was very good.

I reeeally want to see District 9. Comes out this weekend, doesn't it?

Anyway, last movie I saw was Ghostbusters (the first one). 9/10. There is very little about this movie I dislike. Not enough backstory is my one complaint.
This would be my PSN Trophy Card, but I guess I can't post HTML in my Signature. I'm the pixel spaceship, and I have nine Gold trophies.

THE MIST

best ending ever/10

Saw this for the second time. Wow. This movie is like any other horror title. Instead of trying to make you fear the unknown, it makes you scared of the known; posing questions of humanity, religion and morals while asking you to survive. It does a great job portraying our faults as a society, and the characters that rip open our faults, while attacking our ability to work together and problem solve.

Plus, the ending is one of the greatest in film history with Stephen King admitting it was better and later changing his own book to fit the movie.

Wow Stogi. You are one of the few people I know that loved the movie, I did too. I'm a big fan of Darabont's work, not to mention a fan of Stephen King because of things like you described. What I found most brilliant about the movie is that the true monsters weren't the creatures outside but the people in the store.

GI Joe: 7/10. This film set the record for blowing up 175 cars in production. This shows the whole way through the film. Extreme destruction and boom. Thin plot. And several ex-Lost cast members (with shitty accents!).

If you liked Transformers' assault on your senses, this is for you.

I just got back from GI Joe and I have to say that I was impressed. It stayed truer to the cartoon/comic then I originally thought it would be. It was a fun action movie all around. Funny how we had virtually opposing views yet rated it the same? I walked out with a headache because of his assault on my eyes and ears. A spoon would have done the job better.
