Title: Mafia XXXI: Phony Day 1.

Mayor Khushrenada woke up feeling a bit groggy.  "Maybe I shouldn't have had all of that rum with Kapp'n last night," he groaned, as he fell off the side of the bed.  "Oh, today is the beginning of the trials.  I guess I should go ahead and tell everyone it has begun."  Grabbing his favorite top hat from the rack, Mayor Khushrenada made a mad dash to the grounds in front of the Town Hall.  Surprisingly, no one was there.  "Looks like I am going to have to leave them their messages on the bulletin board," he mumbled.  "Hey, wait a second, what's this?  Could it be a message from one of the Mafia?"

"U LIK P-NUS HEHEHE"

..............

The Mayor ripped the vulgar message off and entered in his own message to the townfolk...

"Good morning, I hope you all slept well!  Actually, I guess that is kinda impossible with everything that is going on...But no worries: I've had Booker lock the gate, so there's absolutely no way for the enemy to escape.  However, the rest is up to all of you!  Good luck, and may the best deducer or deceiver win...Oh, right, I'll be closing the polls at Midnight EST..."

Announcements:

Hey there good citizens! Everyday I'll let you good players know what's what with my little announcement post. I'll let you know who hasn't voted yet and is in danger of getting killed by inactivity, I'll re-iterate who died, who they were and how they died along with any other announcements I see fit to make.

As mentioned in the Player List/Rule thread, I'm going back to old school rules. The day vote will end Midnight Est and this thread will be locked to prevent late vote changing. This also means that the next day won't start until around 10 AM EST time. However, it does mean you have a lot of time to send in your night actions. They won't be due until 9 am EST. Should be interesting to see how we do playing things classic style again.

I think that's all for today so welcome to the City.

I've tried to better explain the roles and hopefully make it simpler to figure them out. Just some quick things to note. Bianca has been cut. Death and Sable will appear as their role if investigated. Death is the only who can kill Cube and the Bomber's Assistant and still live. K.K. Slider can kill Death and live. Death's night action is due an hour after voting closes or 1:00 AM EST. Otherwise, he will not get an action. He is only under this time limit until Sable dies. If that should happen, he's action will not be due until 7:00 AM EST like all other night actions. That should be about it.

I will let you know my schedule:  I have evening classes on Tuesday, Thursday 5:30=9:00pm.  I will be engaged as much as possible in this game, but I will most likely be low key this game.

I actually did that once myself. The game was too confusing and i said:

Okay, those first 8 Mafias I played were just a warm up, I lost all of them on purpose yeah, that's the ticket. This one I'm going to win, I can feel it, the 9th time's the charm.

I'm not voting for DrewMG because he was rude and didn't say please. I'm going to Vote EasyCure because I feel like following the crowd and don't understand the concept of quoting people.

Hmm stevey sent me a PM and a whole lot of other people asking if he could be the apprentice.
My thoughts.He could be a mafia member wanting insurance if he gets voted out.Or he could be a townie role.Possible roles are K.K. Slider,Detective Cooper, or Mr.Resetti.If he is Resetti than I don't think he would have anything to worry about.If he becomes the apprentice than I don't think anyone could stop him.

The per hour limit wasn't changed, it was just the total. And I'm not sure I want to change that.  Personally, I don't want to receive more than 20 PMs per hour.  It's designed to keep people from spamming =P

Also, Stevey your bizarre PM to EVERYONE does seem a bit suspicious... but then again, it isn't that out of character for you so I won't vote for you... yet. :)

I really hate bomber rolls in the game, but there's a pretty simple strategy to minimizing the damage they cause and get rid of them.  It just requires a LOT of coordination.  Now, this can only work every other day due to voting rules unless Khush would get rid of that rule...

It's simple, everyone secretly decides who we want to vote out, then everyone abstains from voting except for one person who's willing to take one for the team.

For example, we get everyone to not vote today except for one person, and that one person votes for Stevey. =P

Theoretically, the coordination shouldn't be that difficult because even the mafias want the bomber dead unless there is some unholy alliance.  The only person who wouldn't go along with it would be the bomber or the bomber's apprentice, but would they really want to out themselves?


Yeah I know, that level of coordination is probably impossible.  But if someone else wants to vote for Stevey today, I will gladly not vote at all :).

No, this is the quote of the game.  What difference does it make if he woke up during that time?  Most people don't check the forums as soon as they wake up.  Maybe he has work, or school, or a life.

Just a heads up. NovaQ has been pulled from the game. Due to an error on my part, I listed NovaQ as a member of the Fox mafia to Crazy Redd. He sent out a message to NovaQ which included all the fox mafia members. Because of this, it would make the game rather lopsided. So, NovaQ has been pulled from the game. He was a Coon #1 but that position is going to be filled by one of the townies in the game.

No votes for NovaQ count. He is out of the game and can not share his knowledge with anyone.

Ok,  Just so people know Maxi IS the Bomber.  If you have a role that can take him out without killing yourself do it. 

I made a rookie mistake, and trusted someone not to betray me, because I believed he had a role that would mutually be beneficial.

Before this game goes down in history as one of the worst Mafia games, why don't we have a day one reset.

Look, Khush made an error with the roles, which caused a bigger ruckus than realized. 

I just have a feeling that this game is going to end disappointing to everyone.  Since it is only day 1 a reset can fix it.

No reset! The PM everyone thing is somthing you can only do once and I still have a few member(s) by their ball with screen caps.

I have been planing the PM thing ever since the last AC mafia waiting for someone with a role like cubes appear again...

Still have parts of the ultimate strategy left undone and a whole mafia left to rape!

We've got 21 players. I'll included NovaQ in this. Therefore, if 11 people pm me asking for a reset before the next day is set to begin or by 9:00 am EST, then I will reset it. Frankly, I thought I handled my error fast and well enough but if it seems like it has broken the game fine. But if the problems of the game have arisen because of your errors, is it really fair to reset the game?

Anyways, pm me if you want a reset. If you don't, don't bother sending a message.

I will be honest it is my errors, but TRUST me people a reset is better than a bad game.  Khush actually did handle the switch pretty good, but it did leave the mafia in a tight spot.  I can explain later.

The Villagers all met outside the post office to figure what to do about the rampant problems facing their humble abode. It was a large gathering and people were cramped for room as they listened to various suggestions. "Hey, stop hitting me with your tail, Spak-Spang!," yelled one of the townfolk.  The crowd abruptly became silent.  "Hey, wait a second, that's a RACCOON tail!  He's Tom Nook!"  A pileup formed in the middle of the crowd, but being as oily as he was Spak-Spang easily squirmed out of it, making a break for the door. 

A little ways away, Mayor Khushrenada was taking his time to get to the meeting. He had spent too much time at The Roost and found it hard to walk in a straight line. Spak-Spang passed him, looked back and yelled, "Hahaha, you'll never catch me alive!"  He noticed Mayor Khushrenada pointing past him, so he quickly turned his head back forward just in time to see himself run smack into a tree.  "Ack, that smarts...Wait a second, what's that sound?"  He looked up just as a bee hive landed on his head.  The townfolk had by now made their way outside just in time to see Spak-Spang running around wildly with the bee hive stuck on his head.  K.K. Slider spoke up:  "Shouldn't we go do something about that?"  Mayor Khushrenada replied, "There's no point, he's allergic to bees anyway..."  The townfolk looked onward as the godfather of the Crooked 'Coons soon fell and gave his final death spasms...
