TalkBack / Re: 20 Nintendo 64 Games You Might Have Missed
« on: June 24, 2016, 11:28:19 AM »
This is a pretty solid list. I always appreciate when a Goemon game is included on any list. Here are some N64 games I enjoyed that are not as well-known, though probably popular among people here.

Mischief Makers *shake shake*
Blast Corps
Bomberman 64: The Second Attack
Tetrisphere
Glover

The first Yo-kai Watch was moderately entertaining.  I heard that the sequel was much improved, so I'm looking forward to this.  Perhaps this will properly jumpstart the phenomenon in the US.  If not, it'll be a good appetite-whetter until Pokemon Sun and Moon come out in November.

Regardless of what you think of the 2DS, this is a pretty good deal!

This is quite surprising news.  I always thought Disney Infinity was doing well.  It was certainly a better idea for a game than anything Nintendo has done so far with amiibo, even though I'd rather get precious Nintendo figurines.  It makes me wonder where the toys-to-life market is going.  Amiibo hype has been slowing down ever since the Smash line pretty much ended, so maybe Nintendo will follow suit.  Then again, this may just be Disney being wishy-washy about making games.

I'm so pumped for this!  I wasn't expecting a retail-release after Dual Destinies, and I'm just glad that they're bringing this out to the U.S. at all, and in just a few months!  Spirit of Justice is an interesting name, though I guess it fits based on what we know so far.

I can understand taking down a game eventually, but not being able to redownload a game is harsh...

Hopefully, there'll be any kind of Direct prior to this because I feel like Treehouse Live is usually a slower experience compared to showing highlight after highlight in a row.  There are some who'd prefer a digest trailer rather than watching for a whole day waiting for special announcements.

TalkBack / Re: 'Friends of Nintendo' Humble Bundle Available
« on: April 27, 2016, 12:59:47 PM »
I loved the Humble Bundle last year, and I'm glad it's continuing this year with a great set of games. I've always wanted to play Freedom Planet and Affordable Space Adventures. Although I've played Shantae and Retro City Rampage, it's nice to have a portable version for replay. And adding an old retail game like Rhythm Thief is icing on the cake! It's actually pretty fun so far, so I'm glad more people will be able to experience this!

TalkBack / Re: Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing Apps Announced For Mobile
« on: April 27, 2016, 12:56:16 PM »
As much as I hope that this it will be a full-fledged Animal Crossing, we're probably looking at mobile Happy Home Designer or something along those lines - maybe the ability to design homes and share responses in animalese (a la Miitomo).  Fire Emblem is an interesting choice, and I'm glad to see Nintendo wants to take it in so many directions. If it's free-to-play though, I worry that microtransactions may limit the gameplay.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo: NX, Zelda Launching March 2017 Worldwide
« on: April 27, 2016, 12:51:07 PM »
I’m fine with Zelda being on NX.  I’m even fine with Zelda and NX being a 2017 release. What concerns me most is what’s going to happen this year? There doesn’t appear to be much on the slate for Wii U 2016 besides Paper Mario: Color Splash (and I’m not that excited for this Sticker Star sequel) and Tokyo Mirage Sessions (incredibly niche). It also worries me that there won't be any other playable games, period. That absolutely stuns me that we could be looking at a one-game E3. That doesn't sound right at all, so maybe there's some hidden message we're not seeing. But we’ll see. I’m not expecting much from E3 this year, but I’ll hold out a little hope for any non-Zelda surprise.

I loved the original so I'm glad to see it's more of the same.  Even better so that it fixes that ridiculous 2nd half of the original as well!

TalkBack / Re: EarthBound (3DS) Review Revisit
« on: April 11, 2016, 06:24:25 PM »
I didn't play this game until it released on Wii U Virtual Console a few years back, so I don't have nostalgia for it. But I can see why EarthBound gets all the praise it gets.  Matt hit the nail on the head with the HP ticking down and automatic victory features standing out.  I'm honestly surprised these haven't made it to many other RPGs. It really goes to show how unique the game really was.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: NWR Super Mario Maker Level Share Thread
« on: October 03, 2015, 10:49:45 AM »
Wow! Lots of great stuff in this thread! I look forward to playing more of it. I haven't really posted much around here yet but I'm always looking forward to great Mario Maker levels ever since the game has come out!

Please try my levels too! I feel that these levels could be in a Mario game in that each stage relies on a central mechanic that ramps up in difficulty as the level goes on. It is not unfair nor is it filled to the brim with enemies.  They can be challenging though! Good luck!
