Title: NWR Super Mario Maker Level Share Thread
Post by: Soren on September 10, 2015, 10:00:41 AM
So as our dear overlord Neal said in his review: "finding levels online is a bitch"(paraphrasing). I've taken up the task of creating this thread and maintaining it so that NWR regulars can find levels in a quick and easy way, play them, and provide feedback. I'm hoping to organize them all in this thread in as neat and tidy way as possible.

I've made my second level and called it 'Shell Shocker' and it's built around the use of Koopa Troopers to help advance around the levels. I kind of made it up as I went along and sat and tweaked it as I went to try and find something that mechanically works, but isn't too difficult or long.
It definitely felt better than my first level which I had been thinking about all week.
If anyone wants to try and and give me some feedback I'd be very thankful.
The code is 8A14-0000-0012-A097

Making some simple levels while waiting to see if the unlock system is actually different (still seems to 9-day so far...)
These Pipes Are Made For Walking - F8D0-0000-0012-983C Flight Test - 89F7-0000-0012-C2C3
Just biding my time to get the later unlocks so I can make my Kuribo's masterpiece...

I made a really basic level but feel free to try it. It's very short I wanted my son to be able to beat it.

I've made four levels so far.
Beginner's Basics: 297E-0000-0016-C715 (I have one that is similar that is set underground that was my first level, but I didn't delete it since it got a fair amount of plays) Cavernous Complex: 4C4F-0000-0017-47CD Mushroom Heights:7B22-0000-0018-B2F3 P-Switch Panic!: F4D1-0000-0019-A88E]

The Found Levels 1-2: B92E-0000-0014-A559 This one's a bit of a maze, but not too long or too difficult.
Thread the Needle: 4FDB-0000-001B-8E76 Very short level, but requires a couple of precision moves.

Bowser's Backup: FB2D-0000-0022-DD2A A pretty tough Castle level, a couple of hidden secrets to help along the way. And of course, Bowser has some backup at the end.

I've added some levels via twitter as well. I'm trying to catch up with some of the regular on Miiverse as well. I'll be shooting to update the OP every morning and evening.

I made two levels which I honestly don't consider to be much.. I did them with the first basic tool kit before I went on to really unlock the rest. They were more just trying out the tools for the first time and getting the hang of the system. Although I can say they are pretty short. (That's probably their best quality.) :)
First one is
Easy Peasy
67D9-0000-0012-A6BE
Second is
Bouncing Nom
C560-000-0016-5C7E
Now that I took the time to unlock everything yesterday though, I look forward to building a real level that is more traditional.

I'm quite proud of this effort:
61F4-0000-0021-5AC3
I tried to make it like a "normal" level, rather than basing it on a gimmick or idea. It does have lots of secrets though, and a boss battle to finish. "Castle Assault, Multiple Fronts" it's called.
This one is sort of inspired by Special Zone 2 from Mario World. It was my first effort:
3076-0000-0012-78EE Mario Maker is fantastic. I miss Chargin' Chuck though.

Here are the first three I have made, so far I think my Castle level is the best. I've still yet to unlock everything.
Over or Under: C5D3-0000-001D-1C7C Run Fast Sonic: D7B4-0000-001D-AE37 Platfall Koopa Castle: 47E3-0000-0025-A552
I am aiming for Nintendo like quality, first couple are pretty simple though. I'll check out some levels from here later tonight!

I've made two levels. I only like one of them.
Up & Down: 54D0-0000-0025-BE80
It's easy/moderate difficulty. Has more than one idea/set piece in it. I still only have the beginner's tool set, so pretty simple on that front.

Patience or risk;fight or flight 3D35-0000-0028-E96F This level is hard if you are impatient, easy if you are...or if you are very lucky. I think this one came out surprisingly well from a "score attack" standpoint. Probably my most creative.

Here's a rough version of my first in a series of Bowser Airship levels. I for one think my use of bowser at the end is hilarious.

I feel there a few fine tuning type things I need to work on before I move on to part 2. That said I do think it's worth checking out.

Hello! Long time RFN listener and Super Mario Maker convinced me to sign up for an account so I could share me and my wife's levels with you guys and receive some feedback. We got the game yesterday and have not been able to stop playing since! It is fantastic and making levels is much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Here is our first 4 levels:
1AB6-0000-0017-092E - Ship in The Air
BCCF-0000-001D-2593 - Jump them Walls
7ABF-0000-002A-5F8D - House of Boos
F863-0000-0025-EA7B - Hi!....Bye
We are actively trying to avoid enemy spamming and trolling levels, we try to make the levels semi-hard but not too hard to the point they are frustrating. These levels were after a full day of messing around with everything. We had not unlocked sub levels at the time these were uploaded. Thanks for playing and criticism is greatly appreciated. I can't wait to try your guys levels out and really getting used to working with the level editor. This is one of the most fulfilling video games I have ever played.

Played Brandoggs Bowser's Backup and Phil32's Mushroom Heights.
Bowser's Backup: I haven't finished it yet, not much room for error. I think it would be more enjoyable with a bit more leeway for the player here and there, but, I guess that's kinda what you were going for.
Mushroom heights: Pretty fun and easy going level, I'd only think a little more about placement maybe. For instance, I think some of the moving platforms overlapped slightly, would look more pro with a few tiny tweaks.

This level I am very proud of. It isn't too hard, and not too easy. Somewhere in the middle. I've been told it has a nice puzzle element, secrets and a great boss battle in the end.
8138-0000-0025-b1c7 big boss
Update: I have a brand new course. Basically, I found a new method of a forced boss battle. Now, big boss also has a forced boss battle, and they are 2 different methods. Please enjoy!

Under Enemy Lines: Infiltrate! D59E-0000-002A-D2B0 Don't forget your mission! If only this game supported maps & secret exits....
Hammer-time Bypass 3B35-0000-0029-B3E2 Probably the weakest of the bunch, but still not bad.
TYP's Bone-headed Decisions BA1D-0000-0025-0461 This SMB3 airship level seems to be a fan favorite.
Jittery Jumps! EEB8-0000-001D-12AB My first level. It requires skill and ingenuity. Some have suggested it's a tad too difficult.

I'll just quietly drop one of mine in here;
Comet Trail- 3AB5-0000-002D-4F7F : A somewhat troll-y level that is all about chasing shooting stars~!
I have others, but not refined enough to really share here.

I intended this as a normal level you might find in the real game--not a super hard Star Road/Special World level, but just a regular world level with a little bit of a fair challenge to it. There are several secret paths here, and I'm pretty proud of them; they have a real Mario feel to them, I think. I hope people like the course enough to find them instead of just playing the level straight through.

I have two new levels I made:
Bowser Jr.'s Elite Fleet is an auto-scrolling level that takes place in the sky on multiple airships and even has a ground part.
F72E-0000-003A-8AD0
Make Note of Note Blocks is basically my level 3-1, introducing note blocks into the fold. Has some tough platforming challenges near the end, so believe in yourself and you can complete it!

Airship 3/4: Shipwreck-ing
0E33-0000-003F-F1F9
Some heavy back and forth with the sub areas. If only Mario could walk around the ship's mast he could avoid the whole mess with that cloud.
Airship 4/4: The Great Escape
EAAA-0000-0043-753F
Of the four airship stages I'm going to say the fourth one is the one I'm the most proud of just because... well...

I made a few more levels, I'm only kind of proud of two of them.
Long and Strong: D5F2-0000-0044-743B
A long Super Mario World style level. I think I did an okay job here of teaching things early on that you'll need to consider later and having some visual cues to hint at other things going on in the level.
2-4: D2E4-0000-0039-E88B
If I ever get enough stars to upload enough levels, I'd love to upload an entire "game." 32 levels all titled after the original Super Mario Bros level naming scheme. This could be my castle level at the end of world 2.

I've only made two levels so far, but I'm looking to make a "world" with increasing difficulty soon enough. Will post that as I continue to fool around.
My first complete level is one for platforming purists, I got through it myself without much difficulty but one does need to take timing and approach into consideration. It's called Bunny-Hop Hill: 9F85-0000-0040-4F92
My second level is Donkey Kong Arcade, which should look familiar from first glance. Enjoy! 43D3-0000-0045-105A

Started making my first "Super Mario Bros. World". Started with something I thought was decently difficult and made that 1-4, then moved to making a 1-2 but it ended up being too tricky so I turned it into 1-3. I will update this post with all four levels in the World, but for now, I uploaded the last two levels, which are listed here. 1-1: Clad in the Finest Armor 8F40-0000-004B-83CF 1-2: The Wicked Warehouse 6D19-0000-0055-3FEE 1-3: Bowser's Bob-omb Brigade DDA2-0000-0049-165F 1-4: The Black Fleet(Ver. 1.1) 8B91-0000-0049-264D (Patched first jump, added coins)
After this experiment, I'll be moving on to Super Mario Bros. 3, then World, then New U. I'd like to analyze the mechanics of each game so that I can make good levels for each. What additions were made to the moveset in Super Mario Bros. 3? I'm having a hard time thinking of unique challenges for his moveset, aside from him being able to pick things up.

Here are all my levels so far if anyone fancies a crack at them.
NNID: Supachipz
Standing Jump Only (F142-0000-0012-69A4) Imagine a pit of Goombas, got it? Good, then add some flying goombas, Koopa Troopas and flying Koopatroopas. Then sprinkle in a few piranna plants. Pretty scary right? Now imagine that the only way across this hellacious pit of death is by jumping block to block with no run up... That's Standing Jump Only. Good Luck!
Shell Shocker (8A14-0000-0012-A097) Mario and blocks don't mix. Mario plus Koopa Shell and blocks... now we're talking. Use the humble Koopa shell to force your way through this level, moving up, down and all around in Mario's quest for the flag pole.
Shell Shocker...Reloaded (131F-0000-0014-E4F7) Frustrated with the original Shell Shocker course? Think of this as the 30th Anniversary Remake only instead of 30 years it's barely been 30 hours. Some minor tweaks in the remaster to improve flow and and some much needed stability to the course.
The Elimination Chamber (5E44-0000-001F-8C26) Multiple chambers, multiple enemy types, one way through. Eliminate the enemies and exit each chamber as you make your way to the firey climax making sure to pick the right bonus box each time to decrease the chances of Mario Being Eliminated.
Pacmania (CD68-0000-0020-966F) A Pacman inspired NSMB course, with coins aplenty, multiple routes and Koopa Troopers everywhere. Can you grab the invincibility stars and get rid of the Koopas to grab all the coins and make your escape from the maze? Post your top score to Miiverse to add an extra layer of competition.
Retro Pacmania (B2C5-0000-0021-CB33) A demake of Pacmania removing the wall jump and upping the challenge, changing the way you approach the level. Pacmania wasn't Pacmanic enough for you? This course is much more authentic (If you know what I mean). Waka Waka.
Koopa to Koopa (23E0-0000-002C-C23D) All Koopa, no floor. Take to the skies as you bounce from enemy to enemy in search of the castle in the sky. One wrong bounce and your falling back to the mushroom kingdom from whence you came.
The Three Tiers of Fear (DE04-0000-0036-C386) You need to explore every inch of this course in order to maximise your chance of survival as you battle three progressively harder bosses. Jumping over and running past them might seem wise but it may come back to haunt you.
The Great Escape (2174-0000-003C-7AA7) Finally you caught Bowser(s). Game over right? WRONG. The Wrecking Crew messed up the design of the Bowser encasing chamber and if you want to escape, your gonna have to take Bowser with you.
Be Sure to Ignore Door No.4 (B543-0000-0040-64EC) Door No.1: You're done. Door No.2: 1Up's for you. Door No.3: You'll be filled with glee. But Door No.4: Be sure to ignore! Don't say I didn't warn you.
I'm in Love with a Koopa Troopa! (D848-0000-0045-EFDA) He's so adorable with his shell, and his boots and his Wah-Wahs. I wub him so much and you will too by the time you reach the flag in this course. It's dangerous to go alone: Take This!
My Wife is a Monster (E8ED-0000-0056-8241) "High above the Mushroom Kingdom" she said. "No enemies" she said. "One block platforms" she said. Try not to fall to your doom in this sadistic game of precise platforming.
Run like flip (Switch) (E004-0000-0057-5924) You, me and a P-Switch. No platforms on this one either. You're gonna need that run button and to utilise all of Mario's skills in order to make it through this one before all you end up with is some worthless gold coins and a trip back to the start.
Super Mario 3B World (AA93-0000-005C-94A7) Three Bowsers, three levels, one Goal: don't get you're butt burnt. As the screen scrolls those Bowser's will give chase and you have literally no where to run.

This may be the most surprisingly addictive game I've ever bought. Unbelievably good Gamepad only game as well. Here are a couple of the levels I've put together over the past couple weeks. Any feedback is certainly appreciated.
An Easier Way? 0E72-0000-005F-7995 Easy/Medium difficulty "challenge room" level. Had a lot of fun tinkering with this one.
Follow That Shroom! DBF9-0000-003A-F42E Medium/Hard difficulty due mostly to length. Can you find the shortcut?
Phanto! 3E8F-0000-001D-7EBF Hard difficulty with a callback to SMB2. First level made, pretty hard but tried to make it fair as well.
Good Help is Hard to Find 62C6-0000-004D-CC23 Very easy difficulty. Under rated aspect to this game for me has been the ability to create levels for my kids, who are too young to play a classic Mario game. Had a lot of fun creating levels at night, then watching them play the next day.

My wife and I have a bad habit of staying up way too late on weeknights playing Super Mario Maker. When she's half asleep and has trouble remembering the names of the various enemies, the wacky alternate names she comes up with are really amusing. For example, her new name for Piranha Plant inspired...

I really a lot of the puzzles you incorporate into your levels! It's really neat, and there were a ton of times I went like "Ahhh that's clever!" in both "An Easier Way?" and "Follow That Shroom!"
However, I got about 1/3rd of the way through "Phanto!" and gave up, haha, I'm afraid I don't think I'll ever be the type of player who can handle those sorts of challenges. I got pretty far in Agent 47?, but was getting too frustrated in the spikey shell room... I'll try to come back to that because I MIGHT be able to do it if I keep trying for two hours maybe...

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you enjoyed them. Phanto is definitely a little too hard for its own good, only has about a 1% completion rate, live and learn. And on Agent 47?, I probably erred on the side of being too difficult as well, hopefully that will see a few more people finish it as I enjoyed designing it. A couple new codes to add to the thread!
Agent 47? 0FE8-0000-0073-D36E Can you infiltrate this levels defenses and eliminate your mark without being seen?

Hey all, I've started the next few new projects of mine, and I think I have some cool things to share.
Regarding my "World Project", I've started my Super Mario Bros. 3 edition. 1-1: --
1-2: --
1-3: --
1-4: Bullet Bill Bypass C143-0000-005F-79E5 With this level, I was hoping to introduce a level element that I've never seen in another level before- at first glance, it feels like a typical jump-hop level, but there's a surprise ending that is hectic and crazy that I'm pretty proud of. I'll continue updating this post with more levels from that project, but I did want to start with level 1-4 and work backwards. I think the difficulty will scale better with these levels than with the Super Mario Bros. World.
However, I looked to make an appealing and lovable level next, something full of interesting Easter Eggs and such, so this is my effort. Sunshine Remix: Bianca Hills B676-0000-0078-DDD9 Based off the underrated Super Mario Sunshine for the GCN, this is full of nods to the level, see if you can spot them all! I tried my best to make something faithful and lovely, so I hope you all enjoy it.

I've updated the Sunken Ship Surprise level. Made it slightly longer, took out the stars but added more fire flowers. The biggest change is probably the 100 second time limit. It now feels more in line with a New Super Luigi U level, with 1-up blocks replacing the big coins.

Thanks Gintami. I was hoping that starting at the top of the screen where you go down and avoid the Podoboos would allow the player to see the Thwomp waiting on the right, but one might be too focused on the Podoboos to see that. Thanks for your comments! I hope you'll check out my other levels. I definitely need to play more, as I've been addicted to making levels as I'm very interested in getting a job in game design post-graduation. :)

you know, I'd be more inclined to post my other 9 levels if it wasn't for the fact that it wasn't for needing to type up all these codes. this game should really be called "Super Mario Maker: The Revenge of the Friend Code"
I might as well go down the list as to what I got goin' on. Oldest to newest, though.
Blooper's Big Day - 2108-0000-0029-F290 - an attempt to subvert the idea that the floor is a safe haven from bloopers where they cannot reach you. and then I threw pirhanna plants into the mix. probably one of my more difficult, if short levels
Ontothee Pass - C6F8-0000-002E-0B35 - Actually my first level in Super Mario maker, but I took it down and reuploaded after getting access to sub-worlds. it's a level centralized on a particular mechanic. it's maybe not the most tightly designed Super Mario Maker level, but it's something that I feel like works if you're proficient with your jumps in Mario games.
Wigglin' Wolt's Bastion - 263C-0000-0003B-A73B - This is probably the course I am most proud of. it's a course that I took a bit of inspiration from Super Mario World 2, honestly...! It's a bit of a long one, though. so be prepared for quite the ride should you want to conquer this stage! at the time of writing, this is tied for my most starred stage!
Checkerbored Hill - F87B-0000-003B-C1AE - so, I made this one as a sort of rib on what folks accuse sonic the hedgehog games of being, and it's meant to be more of a loving jab at the hold right to win gameplay then it is an actual level. little did I know I'd be making 2 more sonic themed levels...
Boolistics - 25D2-0000-005A-6624 - A delightful romp that is also themed in a similar way to Wigglin' Wolt's and OnToThee Pass. This level probably needs rebalancing to be easier, as in it's current form it's honestly a bit much.
Soda Steppe - 4D88-0000-006B-2CE2 - A level I made to primarily be easily beaten and that would feel at home as an arlier level in a mario game. it's also themed around teaching folks to slide under a block. somehow, the level still only has a 40% clear percentage.
Shy Subterrane - AF3D-0000-006D-0217 - This is a project that started as a simple sequel to Soda Steppe VERY quickly got out of hand. although not as challenging or long as Wigglin' Wolt's or Boolistics, I have yet to have someone conquer this one.
Whispy Planes - 5ACA-0000-0077-7039 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6xCAOiWIKA Play this youtube video as you play this level to enhance the effect I was going for. now with Orange TrampouRocket and Blue Cubeswitch whisps~!
Velocity is Terminal - E4B0-0000-0077-9824 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq0QE11vEWE this one was made on the same day as Whispy Planes.

Wow! Lots of great stuff in this thread! I look forward to playing more of it. I haven't really posted much around here yet but I'm always looking forward to great Mario Maker levels ever since the game has come out!
Please try my levels too! I feel that these levels could be in a Mario game in that each stage relies on a central mechanic that ramps up in difficulty as the level goes on. It is not unfair nor is it filled to the brim with enemies. They can be challenging though! Good luck!

I'm hoping as this game continues to exist we'll see more and more interesting says of manipulating its mechanics to create more interesting levels than the traditional Mario levels. I've already started making a Zelda themed level after my initial Dobksh Kong Themed level (very much inspired by the recent Metroid-themed article on NWR), and I very much challenge you all to do the same.

Still can't figure out youtube embeds... regardless, I had to edit the course a bit, so the course may be a bit different then the one showcased in the video.
It's VERY frustrating that apparantly you can't set up a wall that will keep the player from jumping over it and have the vertically locked camera. For those of you not in the know-how yet, if you don't have any blocks on the upper half of the stage, it will lock the camera from vertically panning when your player jumps up onto higher platforms. the problem is that it doesn't also do the thing that wrapps blocks infinatley so the stage can't just be jumped over. 1-2 style, which means you either have to put in a ceiling or have a bunch of empty space in order to make it so your player can't cheese your level if you want to route them through a sub-level.

We have created quite a few new levels these are the best of the bunch I believe. Against the Grain (FD8A-0000-0055-DF99) Littlebigplanet (2982-0000-0084-5E9F) Twist and Battle-(D22E-0000-0058-818A) Dog Pound (0435-0000-0092-9783) Coastin' with Yoshi and Homies (3BCB-0000-004D-408A)
We are just now getting more into messing with backgrounds ect to create a more artistic vibe with the levels. I love this game! I enjoy just messing around with the editor and see what works. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. .

I'll be rolling a new part out every couple of days so people can get featured in batches and not get lost in an instant blast of like, 20 blurbs at once. I'm also proceeding roughly in order of submission so those who sent in tips first are generally getting featured first! (This also means there's still time for new submissions!)

In this level I set out to recreate the events of a zombie apocolypse in the mushroom kingdom. The first half of the level is a happy experience with little challenge but some clues for later. In the second half you awake to a destroyed version of the same town where you must solve puzzles and use more skill to escape.

First time posting here but maybe some people here can help me out. I feel like my stages are between the Normal to Hard difficulty (with some more on one side or another) but even ones I feel are easier seem to have bad clear rates and I think it might just be not enough people playing them.
I like themes for stages and also like wall jump stages (so if you have one I'd like to play it also) so "Wall Jumps Will Work" (SM64 reference) was the first one I wanted to make before I even had the game with the idea of making "Wall Jump Nightmare" to be the more hardcore one. The first has an ok 12.58% clear rate but so far nobody has cracked Nightmare (other than me beating it at a friend's house). I will note that there are no invisible block tricks or anything else of the sort. Though hard, from what I've seen from other people I don't feel any of mine reach that "insane" difficulty some stages have.
Wall Jumps Will Work: 072C-0000-0033-286D Wall Jump Nightmare: 6A55-0000-0096-FFA2
Aside from that I have some other ones I'm really happy with like "Pow Wow" which is a sorta puzzle-ish one involving using pow blocks as steps to get into doors and remove obstacles to get into pipes and such. Then "My Pal Yoshi" as almost a tutorial on some of the things you can use Yoshi for (with no sacrificing needed!) and both also have no clears other than the one I did at my friend's house x.x
Pow Wow: 2FFF-0000-00B0-6D2C My Pal Yoshi: 7860-0000-00C9-F6CA
I'm at my upload limit currently so I'm wondering if I should take down some to retool or just hope for more stars. I can still keep making stages anyway, the upload limit can't stop that lol.

Updated Pow Wow, though my others I like as is and don't think they really need checkpoints as much. Also added a Speed Run type stage to be like the cool kids. It's only about a 30 second run so it's not as crazy as others I've seen and done.
Pow Wow: D2E9-0000-00E0-C95E
No Mistake Speed Run: 3A97-0000-00E0-8A50
Edit: Also want to pimp this guy Kol's stage cause it was creative and cool. He had some other good ones too. Bring Your Portable Torch: D49D-0000-00DA-F1AA

Alrighty. I imagine most people have moved on from Super Mario Maker, but for those who still play it or have come back to it like I have, I have reuploaded nearly every level of mine with checkpoints, three hidden 1-ups for every level that serve as Star Coins for exploration types (for those that didn't have that), and upgrades for stability.
You have to trust the Lakito's and have patience to beat the level. Medium sized level, somewhat difficult
4th level Boss or Baby? 863F-0000-003A-A1A4 https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/863F-0000-003A-A1A4 (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/863F-0000-003A-A1A4)
Are you a boss and able to beat this short but difficult level, or are you a baby and found the easy way?
Which pipe will help you ? Only one way to find out… This level isn't too difficult and isn't too big
9th level DK Jr. DACC-0000-0073-1413 https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/DACC-0000-0073-1413 (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/DACC-0000-0073-1413)
I remake the NES classic game Donkey Kong Jr. in Super Mario Maker . This level is long and can become difficult
10th level Last Mario 2082-0000-00BF-83CC https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/2082-0000-00BF-83CC (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/2082-0000-00BF-83CC)
This level is inspired by the popular TV show last man on earth! This level is long but easy …
You play as Bowser Jr and fly in the clown car, but all the enemies are also flying and makes for a bumper car level but in the air . - medium sized level, medium difficulty
12th level DK JR. 2.0 06B4-0000-00D7-90FA https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/06B4-0000-00D7-90FA (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/06B4-0000-00D7-90FA)
I remake the NES classic game Donkey Kong Jr. in Super Mario Maker . I redid this level to add a check point and make it easier and more interesting
Based on the classical music song this level seems like a puzzle level but it's not… If you enjoy podcasts NPR Radio Lab did one on this song . You can find it here (http://www.radiolab.org/story/217340-unraveling-bolero/) or http://www.radiolab.org/story/217340-unraveling-bolero/ (http://www.radiolab.org/story/217340-unraveling-bolero/)
Remake of the first level in Super Mario 2 ( USA / Doki Doki Panic ) Its a long level but not too difficult I updated this level to make it easier and added a check point
The most difficult level I made. This level is insane and how it tries to kill you. This level is based on the popular YouTube video you can view here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in6RZzdGki8) or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in6RZzdGki8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in6RZzdGki8)
18th level Big Giant mario XL 1158-0000-00EC-F385 https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/1158-0000-00EC-F385 (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/1158-0000-00EC-F385)
You play as giant mario in this entire level but everything else is giant too . Medium sized level, and medium difficulty
19th Level Into the Monster 61F8-0000-00F0-F0EA https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/61F8-0000-00F0-F0EA (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/61F8-0000-00F0-F0EA)
This level I try to make it so you go inside a monster. This level shouldn't be too difficult but should be fun and is medium sized in length.
20th level Super Mario 30 ! 7125-0000-00E9-7793 https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/7125-0000-00E9-7793 (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/7125-0000-00E9-7793)
Celebrate 30 years of Mario games in this level. I am so proud of this level. I consider this level my masterpiece and my best level. So many mario costumes, many secrets and references to several different mario games. It's a huge level but it shouldn't be too difficult.
I hope you enjoy my levels and I hope you star them and comment.

I received the game shortly before Christmas, I've been playing a lot of the 100-Mario Challenge, I find it kind of funny to see just how bad the levels can get. I'll be sure to try out everyone's levels here, but before I get to that I wanted to try my hand at making a few levels before I got any outside influence (playing the random levels just shows me how to troll). Here's my first upload from the basic toolset:
1-1: First Try F315-0000-013F-2775
Here is the link to the level on the Mario Maker website, (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/F315-0000-013F-2775) if you want to bookmark it or one of the other stages I have.
I'm going to number my levels based on where I think they would fit if they were in a regular Mario game. The idea for this was to be the first level of a Mario game, so it probably isn't an interesting level for this game where you play one at a time. I remember hearing I think it was Miyamoto explaining about easing players into the game by introducing things slowly, including the first level not requiring the run button so that players can get used to things gradually, so that was my philosophy in making this.
Also, I'm a fan of the more "classic" style of level design as seen in the mainline games, so you probably won't be seeing the crazier stuff from me that most people make. If you're also a fan of the classics, you may like my levels.

Here is my list of levels. Like you, I do more traditional Mario style courses. It's essentially a WIP game I made with Green Green Meadows being 1-1 all the way up to Pipe-A-Palooza being 7-2.

Hey, guys. Did this forum just stop following Mario Maker?
That's too bad if so. I've made a level i'm so proud of. I'd like anyone who'd like to to try it. It has no clears yet. It's hard, but not F-You hard. It's just platforming challenge.
Please give it a shot. Feedback appreciated.

Finally got this game for X-Mas. I even uploaded a level! Try it! https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/4510-0000-016D-8069 (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/4510-0000-016D-8069) To my shock, completely random people have played it already. One person even gave it a Star! Crazy. Anyway, it is an easy level with some minor secrets and junk. Have at 'er. Or not. I'm easy.
Celebrate Star Fox games with this air ship level . It has a little of everything which includes lots of excitement. This is a big level and should be medium difficulty
The first level I made was twisty time and this is a remake of that level . It's easier, more interesting and has a big secret! This level is short and medium to easy difficulty.
23rd Level Jr Bumpy Air Ride 2 7503-0000-0173-611A
Another remake of a previous level . This level you play as Bowser Jr and are riding in the clown car but things get bumpy because everyone else has a clown car too so it feels like a bumpy car ride but in the air . This version is easier than before with more bumpers and has a new sub area to explore. Small level and kind of easy but random elements of the level can make it feel unique each time you play .
This auto scrolling level is also an air ship level with a unique twist . A Thomp has a clown car and won't leave you alone, can you survive this sky high ordeal ? Medium sized level , medium difficulty
25th Level Yoshi in the Rose Castle 37A6-0000-017D-5BF3
What is this? Yoshi in a Super Mario World castle stage ? You can't Stop this madness because this level is totally legit with traditional level design. It has three paths , secrets , multiple check points , several areas for Yoshi to be awesome and many power ups ! This level is intended to be an easy level and is medium sized in length. I tried to make this level as interesting as I could while being somewhat easy going and friendly. The level ends with a epic boss battle but it should be totally fun. This does take skill to beat but it's very minimal and I hope you can enjoy it .

This Super Mario World level is two levels in one ! The freebird level is up in the clouds . The Jailbird sub level is in a castle stage . Which one will you choose ? This is very traditional style level and I made it to be fun with tons of secrets and multiple paths. I tried to make this level very replayable so try it again and again to enjoy this larger medium to somewhat easy difficulty level .

29th Level Crazy Clown Car Chase!!! D460-0000-0198-467E
Just like the title suggests it's a crazy level with lots of mystery mushrooms and a few hidden giant mushrooms. This is also an auto scroll level and you only have a minute to beat it. Several enemies are flying in clown cars and following you . This original Mario level is large and is a little random so it can be easy or difficult it just depends, I hope you enjoy this level.

30th Level Shooting Fish in a Barrel BF45-0000-019D-2683
This underwater level has the clown fire car so you can burn up the fish . This level is lengthy but should be easy. I also included an another sub level with the gumba's shoe which is more difficult and fun .

If you don't already know, the giant boot is capable of performing a stomp by jumping, and then pressing Down on the D-pad in mid-air. When you land, two puffs of smoke will fly out either end of the boot, and these puffs can defeat enemies, even ones you may have thought couldn't be touched... The giant lady's shoe can also break certain blocks using this stomp.
If you did already know this and still can't figure out what to do, I can provide further assistance.

I gotta get back to this game, including making more levels! But I must admit, I am already tired of the autoplay levels, even though they are very clever. And I don't like the yeah-buddy-super-hardcore-punish-you-threefold levels either. I like reasonable, good, completable levels. Are there any of those being made anymore?

I also do not care for those types of levels. Unfortunately, traditional-style levels can be difficult to find, and tend to be not as popular, though you know the old saying, "90% of everything is crap." It's worth it if you can find it, though.
I still make more traditional-style levels and I also don't try to make them difficult or overly difficult, though sometimes it happens on accident since I have no idea how people will play my levels. Nothing comes close to Kaizo-style or whatever, though. I've also made various more gimmicky levels that still use the traditional values (example: progressive difficulty). I have never made an auto level, and have only one music level just as a curiosity piece.
If you (or anyone) are interested, you can check out my levels here: https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/profile/Mop_it_up?type=posted (https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/profile/Mop_it_up?type=posted) I've made a whole game's worth!
The traditional levels are fun to make! Thanks for playing, Mop It Up! Do you have any comments or suggestions for me to improve my levels?
I've never been good at thinking of things to leave in comments, so I don't think I can be much help. I also like to encourage people to make things with their own style, so I don't want to base comments on just my own preferences. I at least didn't feel like anything stood out as needing more polish, for example you tend to do a good job of spacing obstacles so nothing gets spammy. Some of your levels could probably be a little lengthier without detracting from them, if that's what you wanted to do, but, that's getting into preference territory.
