Target Terror $11.21 (reg $29.99)
http://www.amazon.com/Konami-00646-T.../dp/B0010BAKG2

Wow, 2 dollars cheaper than when I picked it up...
You know if it's within 30 days you can email Amazon for a price adjustment (they refund you the difference) so in your case $2 but you can only ask once on a price adjustment on an item.

Well darn. That's the problem with impulse purchases.

Maybe this isn't news, but Speed Racer is 29.99 at bestbuy.com

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8780802&type=product&id=1204332501565&ref=39&loc=01&srccode=cii_11138&cpncode=07-63539987-2

Well, Jack said it was a great time, but short lived, so this could be the right price.

Guys, I totally caved this week and bought Rockband "Special" Edition for Wii (yes, that's in quotes on purpose). I did it for a few reasons. One, I can't wait three agonizing more months to rock out, and I only own a Wii. Two, there's talk of efforts of making the instruments cross-compatible w/ GH4 (which I definitely want, and have money down on). Three, and most importantly, I found a sweet deal on it at Amazon.

Amazon.com: Rockband Wii, $126 shipped, no tax, unless you live in NY, I guess. linkiez (go down to the "New" section, and it's the first one listed.*)

It's apparently got minor physical damage to the exterior box, so is being offered through Amazon's "Warehouse Deals." But it's still Amazon, though, and is covered by the normal stuff that Amazon covers (returns/refunds, 30-day warranty against defects, etc.). And at this price, if I have to (like, if cross-compatibility stays w/ just the 360 version), I can offload it before GH4 comes out, and make a good deal of my money back anyways.

And till then... well, please excuse me, as I'VE GOT SOME ROCKIN' TO TAKE CARE OF WHOOOOOOOOOO

* Just saw that it says "Backordered, in stock on 7/21. Mine also said "backordered, available on the 16th" when I bought it on the 15th, and it shipped on the 16th, so it seems to be a good indicator.

Hey Kairon, did you pick up Target Terror yet?  How is it?

It's... it's your typical arcade shooter game... hmm...

the good stuff is that it really is meant to be cheesy and zany, so the pixelated real-life character shots are perfectly in tune with that. You also instantly enter mini-games (like that gold cart one, or a ripoff of Missile Command) in the middle of the game when you accomplish specific level-specific milestones, like shooting 25 barrels in a level, or 12 security monitors or the like.

However, the game's cursor control disappoints a bit. Sometimes it seems slightly jarring. Sometimes, the game "hiccups" and snags for a couple seconds, making it hard to know if you hit someone or where your cursor went for that split second that the screen freezes. Also, it doesn't have a "calibrate option" like Ghost Squad had, meaning it's RE:UC style cursor aiming, not Ghost Squad style gun-sight aiming... T_T

BUT... unlike other games, this one's not a pushover. Me and my new roommate played on the easiest level, and we started with 40 credits (lives). We could only beat 5 out of the 10 game stages (there are three levels with 3 stages (beat the first to unlock the next) and what I anticipate as one end level once everything else is beat) on 40 lives and there was no continuing after that. So if you want to actually "beat" the game, you'd have to put some work into it.

Sounds like good fun, but those pointer issues may irritate the crap out of me.  So far the only arcade type shooter I have is Crossbow Training.  What would you recommend for the best amount of mindless shooting fun at this point?  Target Terror, Ghost Squad,House of the Dead, or Chicken Shoot?

Correct.

The only glaring minus is it's only 4:3, like most of the other gun games.

16:9?  Fat.

4:3 only means there's nothing more to it.  Set your TV to 4:3 mode and play it as it was in the 4:3 arcades.

Check out PixlBit!
