You know, last time I said that I wouldn't favor a permaban.

This time around, I'm just indifferent. In general, I'm not a fan of permabanning people - but I'm so burnt out on him that I'm just no longer willing to stand up in favor of him. If it were just my call, I probably wouldn't, just because, as I said, I don't like permabans... but I completely understand why the decision was made and simply don't care that it was made.

Sorry, TJ. I extended you plenty of chances and at this point, I just don't care. I can't care, anymore.

On the one hand, TJ was one of the 5 or so NFR listeners on this site, so I'll miss his responses in the podcast talkbacks.

On the other hand, in the words of Roose Bolton from Game of Thrones (regarding Rob Stark) (warning: spoilers for Season 3):

He'd been warned numerous times not to be a prick on this site, and it's hard to think of a more disagreeable person here. Say what you will about my own posting habits, but I tend to keep my disagreements civil and localized to a few topics a month. TJ, though, looked for fights.

I don't like permabans too. It goes against my belief that sane people can be rehibilitated. Many people here tried in to turn him around. Some of you were nice, others direct, others more authoritrian. Me? I felt the only thing he responded to was pointing the same asshole behaviour back towards him. To be a dark mirror to him and him alone. Maybe if he saw himself enough times reflected back, he would recognise the insanity running through everything he did.

Well, I guess he won.

You know, I fully accept responsibility for my posts in reaction to TJ. I made them, and they are what they are, even as a reaction.

However, just as I am responsible for my posts in reaction to TJ's posts, TJ is a grown adult - and therefore should be held responsible for his own posts. Not too much to ask.

We need to remember that TJ Spyke was like that for a really long time, and it wasn't until relatively recently that things built up to the point that everyone was that hostile. We all gave him lots of chances, and were accepting and hospitable far longer than he deserved. My only regret is that I let myself get talked out of permabanning him over the whole Emily Rogers situation.
