The home office in Ecumsecum, NS is working on the "Top Ten Reasons Donald Bought A Steam Deck" feature. Last week had two of them.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65316/nintendo-downloads-november-2-2023

Things we missed last week: Because of the footnoted releases, North America AND Europe both set new records since the tracking was noted at 71 and 69 (not nice) respectively. Among the unlisted releases was World of Horror, the one-bit eye-stabby RPG.

Well, after that ginormous cluster*bleep*, this week is opening at a little less than half of that worldwide. The big deal is the discovery of who is replacing Charles Martinet as Wario - I hear TYP was available? - starting with WarioWare: Move It. Or maybe it's the last good full Star Ocean game before the series jumps off a clip with Star Ocean: The Second Story, or XSEED hiring Those Men at Syn Sophia for a fashion game in Fashion Dreamer.

For fans of toxicity, there's a new League of Legends RPG this week (review forthcoming), but I'd be more into the pair of Alien Hominid games (remake and new one) coming this week. Also Thirsty Suitors may SEEM like an Otomate special, but it's actually coming via Annapurna. Finally, battle royale rhythm game Headbangers: Rhythm Royale drops for those last-minute Halloween parties.... before we IMMEDIATELY get double teamed by the combination of Christmas creep and "Metroidvania" with Ebenezer and the Original World.

This is like getting an apple in your Halloween candy.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65312/mario-party-3-crashes-expansion-pack-n64-library-later-this-week

It appears 1080 Snowboarding is waiting for winter to join the N64 library of the Switch Online Expansion Pack, but we will be getting a game this month anyway.

Mario Party 3 - the last first party N64 release - will be added to the library later this week; although the video indicates a release on the 27th (Friday), it will likely appear in North America on the evening of the 26th (Thursday).

Elements of Mario Party 3 are included in 2021's Mario Party Superstars for Switch, but this will be the first time the game has ever been re-released.

TalkBack / Suika Game Updated, Adds English Text
« on: October 23, 2023, 05:16:45 PM »

Boy, that escalated quickly.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65310/suika-game-updated-adds-english-text

Although it was Japanese only before, one of the most out-of-nowhere eShop hits has had localized text added.

Known either as "Watermelon Game" or "Suika Game", the mind-blowingly popular streaming smash is now available with English support following its surprise North American launch last Friday. A seasonal (Halloween) theme was also added.

Since its Friday launch, the surprise Japanese hit has ranked alongside Super Mario Bros. Wonder in the eShop's top sellers.

I wish all Ubisoft executives and Bobby Kotick a very f**k you go to jail.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65252/nintendo-downloads-october-26-2023

Things we missed last week: Apparently HUGE in Japan, the Suika Game aka "that thing with the watermelons" came out worldwide. It doesn't have English text. Lay on, MacDuff.

This week is abnormally large by most standards - the tracking list has the highest "starting" total of the year, and even if we took out the things releasing in multiple SKUs it'd still be 52 games in NA. The most prominent of these is the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, for all your parroting stealth action needs (which in addition to the main bundle has three sub-bundles), though another game from Japan is basically taking one otome game and after crossing it with hanafuda of all things, split up the suitors into their own $35 - $45 game depending on the country. Uh, no thanks. Other items of note are the spiritual sequel to previous Switch RPG Crystar in Crymachina, and what would be in the top section if its boxed copy wasn't a code-in-a-box in the annual Just Dance release.

PC smash hit Dave the Diver (as featured in the last Nintendo Direct, there's a demo) headlines the indie releases, alongside a followup to the 2018 Switch (and 2016 3DS RPG that I actually reviewed) Ambition of the Slimes. The original version was quite mid, as I recall, but maybe this new one will be better. Then again, between Crymachina, the stuff in the sales, and Mario Wonder I probably won't find out for a while.

It's Sonic's 30th anniversary, and the blue blur is so, SO screwed.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65179/nintendo-downloads-october-19-2023

Things we missed last week: Early Konami puzzle (???) game Loco-Motion came to the platform under its Japanese name Guttang Gottong.

Ordinarily this week would be on a down note, which would be due to a game that glorifies drunk driving already being out following up with a game focused on Sonic's ****ty friends tomorrow. (Apparently Sonic Superstars is, as the kids say, "mid", but look for our review later to confirm.) But the week ends with something not seen on the Switch in nearly five years and in general in more than a decade; an artisinal, hand-crafted 2D Mario game in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Prepare the shrooms, it's going to be a bumpy ride for what is probably the biggest deal on Switch this year. (Somewhere, this is getting sent back to 1993 and someone at Babbage's is having their brain exploded by the concept of Sonic and Mario games launching three days apart on a Nintendo console.)

Also driving into stores are the second Hot Wheels Unleashed racer and Aksys dipping into the murder mystery space with Inescapable - a rare VN from them that doesn't have five suitors and an Idea Factory logo.

Smaller items this week include another Jackbox Party Pack - holy crap, there's TEN of them now - alongside the seasonable Hellboy Web of Wyrd, a multiplayer Illfonic special based on Ghostbusters, and Gargoyles Remastered which will surely live up to the standards of the era of which it came and not, I dunno, the mouse of today who needs to be broken up posthaste. Also, we have a real stretch of the term "collection" being used for a pair of old Boy and His Blob games... but the price is right, at least.

TalkBack / Voice Of Mario, Luigi In Super Mario Bros. Wonder Revealed
« on: October 13, 2023, 11:32:00 AM »

Martinet out, a new fresh face in.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65178/voice-of-mario-luigi-in-super-mario-bros-wonder-revealed

We appear to have the new voice of Mario in next week's Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

In a post on Twitter (the site now known as X for some insane reason), voice actor Kevin Afghani confirmed he was the new voice of both Mario and Luigi in Wonder.

Afghani's prior credits are limited; he was the character Arnold in mobile/PS gacha game Genshin Impact and additional voices in the "Secret History of Cuphead", as well as a title character in the Dragon Ball Abridged spinoff Dragon Ball R&R.

TalkBack / Microsoft Completes Acquisition Of Activision Blizzard King
« on: October 13, 2023, 05:49:00 AM »

Kotick goes away in 80 days with a golden parachute instead of today in handcuffs.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65176/microsoft-completes-acquisition-of-activision-blizzard-king

After multiple government delays, the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard (King) has finally closed.

The deal, announced on January 18, 2022 closed this morning and saw the Xbox manufacturer acquire the Call of Duty behemoth for US$68.7bn. Integration will begin immediately, and notorious ABK CEO Robert "Bobby" Kotick will leave the combined company on January 1.

The deal was subject to multiple restrictions, including assurances from Microsoft that Call of Duty would remain multiplatform and even come to Nintendo platforms for a decade in some fashion. Restrictions include a UK requirement that Ubisoft handle cloud services for Call of Duty in the UK, and Microsoft games coming to other cloud platforms in Europe.

Riccitello to Sony (e5)

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65167/john-riccitello-resigns-from-position-at-engine-maker-unity-effective-immediately

A recent controversial change to the pricing structure of the Unity engine has apparently led to the ouster of the company's CEO/president/chairman.

Unity have announced in a press release that CEO John Riccitello (ex of Electronic Arts) has resigned as CEO, president, chairman, and member of the company's board "effective immediately". Riccitello's role at Unity will consist entirely of continuing to "advise Unity to ensure a smooth transition".

The company had been under fire in recent weeks due to announcing a controversial change to the cost of the platform which would have resulted of a fee of up to $0.20 per installed copy of the game as well as the mandatory addition of a "made in Unity" splash screen. The fees were later walked back, with personal Unity licenses being exempted and the fee being assessed the lower of a per-install charge based on self-reported installs or a flat 2.5% of revenue.

TalkBack / Nintendo Downloads - October 12, 2023
« on: October 09, 2023, 04:00:00 AM »

Now that Batman is doing the Batusi in December, it's good to know that we still have some heroes left - a whole company, actually.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65160/nintendo-downloads-october-12-2023

Things we missed last week: Darius II in the Archives.

I had a whole slew of references to the goddamned Batman lined up for this week's column, but then quality interceded to push those back to the end of November's column. (Good.) Left scrambling to fill the spot, we'll give the honour this week to Company of Heroes Collection as we try and find out if the Switch handles real time strategy as well as turn based. Also kicking off this week is the first licensed football game to actually feature future concussion sufferers Chris Henry, Patrick Mahomes, et al in Wild Card Football - as Neal reminded us last week on Connectivity, it has the NFLPA license, but not the actual NFL teams.

Serenity Forge - the madlads who got Doki Doki Literature Club+ running on Switch - are publishing a new RPG called Long Gone Days, which leads the indie rush alongside Day of the Devs star Saltsea Chronicles and a remastered version of DS horror shooter - talk about rare birds - Dementium: The Ward. For a certain level of indie, there's also a re-imagining of River City Ransom up for grabs this week.

TalkBack / Batman Arkham Trilogy Releases Delayed To December 1
« on: October 03, 2023, 05:37:00 AM »

One less charge to worry about on the old Bat Credit Card.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65099/batman-arkham-trilogy-releases-delayed-to-december-1

A major Switch release originally targeting next week has been delayed past US Thanksgiving.

In social media posts this morning, publisher WB Games announced that the Batman Arkham Trilogy - originally slated for release next Thursday, Oct 12 - would now launch on December 1. The publisher cited "wanting to give Switch gamers the best possible experience" for the delay.

The Arkham Trilogy - 2009's Arkham Asylum, 2011's Arkham City*, and 2015's Arkham Knight - was announced for Switch release in the June Nintendo Direct. It was originally going to release ahead of Sonic Superstars (Oct 17), Super Mario Bros. Wonder (Oct 20) and the Metal Gear compilation announced in the same Direct (Oct 24).

Maybe the return of Detective Pikachu means we'll be able to find the Nintendo Seal of Quality.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65066/nintendo-downloads-october-5-2023

Things we missed last week: We were one last second delay in North America (Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong delaying to December) from setting a new record for releases in the region. As it was, we still tied the record at 67.

After we thought it was dead for several years, Detective Pikachu Returns (still sans Danny DeVito, but he's best voicing Groudon since he makes it always sunny) this Friday with more video than actual official gameplay screenshots released by Nintendo or TPC. Interesting maneuver Cotton, let's see if it pays off for them. It's a busy week for RPGs and the RPG-adjacent anyway, with Silent Hope, Disgaea 7 (now with less autoplay) and against all logic or demand Borderlands 3 is joining the rest of its trilogy.

Given last week's gongshow I'm going to hunker down with the hat rat, but you also might be down for Front Mission 2 (allegedly), Direct star Wargroove 2, or the second game in the Dark Pictures series.

TalkBack / F-Zero 99 Receiving First Track Update
« on: September 28, 2023, 05:16:00 PM »

You've suffered through Port Town II, now you get to try the original.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65047/f-zero-99-receiving-first-track-update

The track count in F-Zero 99 has doubled.

A forthcoming update (due tomorrow) to the September 14 Direct shadowdrop will add the five Queen League tracks - Mute City II, Port Town I, Red Canyon I, White Land I and II - to the game, including the option to race them in Grand Prix mode. White Land I was previously available in the "Expert Tracks" mode.

This only leaves four of the King League tracks to be added from the original SNES game, as Port Town II is also available in the hard track option.

The title formerly known as Chicken Wiggle Workshop has had a hell of a road.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65043/hatch-tales-remake-of-late-era-3ds-eshop-title-launching-march-28

It took several years and a name change, but the former Chicken Wiggle Workshop now has a release date.

Following a 2018 Kickstarter campaign, backers have been notified by publisher Atooi that the title now known as Hatch Tales will release on March 28 - roughly six years to the day of the original campaign. The original 3DS version launched following the release of the Switch in 2017, and the Switch version was intended to add a level editor.

Talk Nintendo Podcast host Perry Burkum was one of the composers attached to the project.

..since this is the 35th cup, I guess it's not surprising that it isn't Mario themed.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65039/xenoblade-chronicles-3-takes-the-stage-in-the-next-tetris-99-maximus-cup

Just because we have F-Zero 99 doesn't mean the other Switch Online exclusive freebie isn't done getting updates.

Tetris 99 has announced the 35th Maximus Cup this weekend will be themed around Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and will run from the traditional Friday morning 3 a.m. to Tuesday morning at 2:59 a.m. EDT. Earning 100 points will unlock the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 theme to possibly replace the Game Boy Tetris theme.

TalkBack / Legend Of Legacy To Receive HD Remaster In Early 2024
« on: September 25, 2023, 11:10:02 AM »

Now this is a 7.5 you can set your watch to.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65009/legend-of-legacy-to-receive-hd-remaster-in-early-2024

Thousand Year Door isn't the only RPG getting remastered on Switch next year.

NIS America have announced a remaster of 2015's Legend of Legacy - the 3DS title originally created by FuRyu and published initially by Atlus - will be available on Switch among other platforms "early next year". Preorders are already open on NIS America's store for standard, limited, and deluxe editions; the limited featuring a mini art book and digital soundtrack while the Deluxe adds in additional art cards and bumps the soundtrack up to a full CD.

TalkBack / Hideki Kamiya Departing Platinum Games, Next Thing Unknown
« on: September 25, 2023, 04:08:04 AM »

I asked my mom like Kamiya said, she wondered why I was calling at 5 a.m.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65008/hideki-kamiya-departing-platinum-games-next-thing-unknown

One of the founding creators behind Platinum has left the studio after nearly 16 years.

In a post on Twitter (the social media site now known as X for some infantile reason), Platinum was the first to confirm the departure effective October 12 (two weeks from Thursday):

Kamiya himself responded confirming the announcement:

One of the founding creators of Platinum out of the ashes of Capcom's Clover Studios, Kamiya served as executive producer on many of the company's projects including the original Bayonetta and The Wonderful 101.

TalkBack / Nintendo Downloads - September 28, 2023
« on: September 25, 2023, 04:00:00 AM »

Remember when "the summer of too many games" had nothing? Well, welcome to the Autumn of Too Many Games.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/65006/nintendo-downloads-september-28-2023

Things we missed last week: It was a good week for classic shooters, with Strike Gunner in the Archives and the Telenet Shooting Collection getting localized.

A couple of years ago, the last week of the quarter had 50 releases and ended up with a record-at-the-time 60. This week's opening bid in North America? 52. Some long awaited games will be showing up in stores: the first EA Sports soccer/futbol game that isn't branded with the literal Mafia, the oft-delayed Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong, and potentially the best Harvest Moon farming sim since the split in the mid 2010s. They're joined by the Anime World Report doubleheader of a game based on the Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai anime and a Fate-based action RPG (musou?) set in the 17th century.

The download space is headlined by an even-longer awaited indie title as we finally close the book on the August 2018 Nindie Showcase show with Mineko's Night Market, as well as a remake of the late 1990s RPG Gothic and life sim Paleo Pines. And no, Cocoon is NOT based on the vehicle for diabeetus specialist Wilford Brimley, despite coming from a literal film studio in Annapurna. It does come from one of the creative leads on Limbo and Inside, though.

Wait, a Trails series we can get in on the ground floor on?

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/64879/nintendo-download-september-21-2023

Things we missed last week: Well, we predicted the Direct which added NSO subscription incentive F-Zero 99, strategy title Wartales, racing sequel Horizon Chase 2, and rhythm shitpost Trombone Champ. The Archives title, added in the educational section of every prison ever, is Jail Break from Konami.

I spent most of the last week getting my tabletop on in Gloomhaven, but for my money the big game of the week is the first game of a new Legend of Heroes series in The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails if only because it won't require me to win the national lottery in order to play it before the sequel comes out. The highest price tag of the week goes to Mortal Kombat 1, which is just as broken as fellow $70 game Tears of the Kingdom, but with MK1 everyone actually sees it.

Name of the week honors goes to Mon-Yu, or as it's officially called... deep breath "Mon-Yu: Defeat Monsters And Gain Strong Weapons And Armor. You May Be Defeated, But Don’t Give Up. Become Stronger. I Believe There Will Be A Day When The Heroes Defeat The Devil King". And the Japanese name is longer. Smaller titles on the dock include a revival of... Operation Wolf? oooook.... alongside Days of Doom from Atari and the tasteful You Suck At Parking.

TalkBack / Gloomhaven (Switch) Review
« on: September 18, 2023, 12:00:00 AM »

Fire Emblem, Dungeons and Dragons, and Magic: The Gathering walk into a tavern… that was one wild party. UPDATED with score September 23.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/review/64757/gloomhaven-switch-review

Author’s note; The review was originally in progress as a key portion of the game - the cross-platform multiplayer - was not available due to the Steam client not being updated during the review period to support it. It has been marked as final following the necessary update.

Launching this week on Switch, Gloomhaven was known to me for two reasons; it’s my roommate’s second tabletop game when Dungeons and Dragons isn’t an option, and it’s got an absolutely massive box which holds more cards than the Las Vegas Strip. Needless to say, it’s definitely preferable to have the game in a digital format, and now that it’s been brought to Switch it might be the most convenient way to spend a hundred hours. Though there are still some things that show this as perhaps too straight of a copy of the existing PC version.

The core of Gloomhaven is a strategy RPG set in the titular town, where your character starts out in one of six different classes based on the standard RPG characters; the fighter is called a Brute, the mage a Spellweaver, and the thief a Scoundrel. The “Guildmaster” mode is required first, as the player has to at least see the classes in action before a “Campaign” can be started. Campaign is where I spent most of my time, since this is the portion of the physical board game I had the most experience with. In the campaign, a built character is assigned a personal mission based on the class, such as killing a large number of enemies in a single class (there are normal, “elite”, and boss monsters), and completes maps in the world while building up toward the completion of the personal goal. Once the personal goal is completed, the character can “retire”, which unlocks additional classes and allows the character to be rerolled. This rerolled character will start out more powerful than the first, so it’s important to snowball through characters quickly.

Once an event is started either in Guildmaster or Campaign mode, the characters are sent into a hex-based dungeon with objectives that were familiar to me from Fire Emblem games. There were rout maps labeled “kill all foes”, boss-killing objectives, and a form of seize map where instead of a throne, it required obtaining a specific item. The combat is based on cards, as each character enters battle with ten battle cards that are used to determine the character actions. Two actions are available on each card, and two cards are played at a time; if the top action of a card is chosen the bottom of the other card must also be chosen (though elements can be skipped, and “basic” actions such as moving two spaces or attacking with a base stat of 2 are also offered). The cards have an initiative number rated 1 to 99, with the first card chosen setting the turn order for the players and enemies in numerical order; ties appear to go in alphabetic order of the involved character’s names. Once played, the cards are discarded unless the chosen action requires “burning” the card which removes it from play permanently. Cards can be recovered via the “short rest” or “long rest” commands, which on a short rest requires burning a random card to recover the discard pile (rerolling can be done once, with a health penalty). A long rest is a 99 initiative command that prevents the player from moving or attacking for the turn, but recovers 2 hit points when the character will likely never exceed 20 and allows the player to determine which card to burn while they recover the rest of the discard pile. If all cards are burned, or the character’s health reaches 0, they are considered “exhausted” and are removed from the map: all characters being removed is considered a loss.

If an expansion with a single character is almost as big as my Switch, imagine what the full thing looks like.

Each of the battle commands on the cards has a prescribed attack damage and range, though the damage can be modified by buffs and debuffs on either side. Generally, the more powerful an attack is, the more likely it will require burning the card. Every player on the map also has a deck of attack modifiers that are also applied at random, ranging from x0 (which nullifies all damage though additional effects still apply) to x2. This deck can be modified by a perk system that can remove some of the negative modifiers, though the x0 and a few -1s will still be present even on the highest leveled characters. A perk is granted each time the character levels up, and side missions can be completed on each map that can provide one or two points toward the three necessary to purchase a perk. Perks can also be taken which can potentially add statuses such as poisoning, stunning, or “muddle,” which forces the attacker to draw two modifiers and take the effect of the worst one.

Brute, by Aqueous. DPS *is* back..

Campaign is the main multiplayer mode of the game, which sets up one player as the host with “client” users entering a ten digit alphanumeric code to locate the game. Curiously, the code has “Copy” beside it, presumably a function on the PC where you’d copy and paste the code into a Discord chat but the Switch doesn’t really have a need for copy and paste, so why is it here now? There doesn’t appear to be a dedicated local multiplayer option; the code still required internet access even with my roommate on the same couch with a Switch copy. Additionally, the setting for crossplay must be identical for all copies of the game connecting. Once connected, the client player can be assigned to a character in the party or can roll their own. It’s a solid system that works well,  though the Switch version is targeting 30 frames per second even in docked mode which I found it hit consistently. In testing crossplay, the other system - we used a PC copy - would hold back for about 3-5 seconds after an action completed so the Switch could catch up. It might be more noticeable in a situation where “the other system” is in the next room like I had, but it’s still worth keeping in mind if you’re looking to grind with a friend on another platform.

Some of the controls in the Switch version took some getting used to, and there are functions I’m still not 100% able to hit even after playing for most of a week. It’s not immediately obvious how to access the in-game item shop, and I found myself switching out of the character I was running in multiplayer to the other one far too frequently. Even some of the in-game commands took getting used to; my first character was in the “Mindthief” class, who has an attack option to make one enemy attack another. When using it, I would have to press A on the enemy to start it, confirm that I wanted them to be the one controlled by holding A, then repeat the process on the intended victim of the attack before it would actually fire. That’s two presses and two holds for one attack. I could see it if there were multiple potential targets in range, but when I’m staring down two skeletons right next to each other I should be able to select one and have it know to automatically go for the other. It switches between “press” commands and “press + hold” a lot, when it bothers to recognize them at all. (Which on the first night was about 70% of the time, though this issue was resolved in further testing.) One final issue - which apparently happens on PC as well - came when for some reason I could just not walk on a particular open tile in order to get at an enemy. This really threw off the map, though we did end up winning in the end.

The common Gloomhaven community standard is to keep things secret - particularly the per-map side quests, which the game only reveals at the end of the map - so the Switch is fundamentally a great platform to play the digital version on. It can kill a lot of time; each map takes about 45 minutes to an hour, even with or perhaps because I was playing with someone who knew how to manipulate the AI. But I never felt the game dragged at all, and would vastly prefer this digital copy to having to schlep around something bigger than every game console I’ve ever owned.

The good news is, there's still enough time for it to get a second lotcheck review.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/64873/long-threatened-remaster-of-plumbers-dont-wear-ties-receives-release-date

After being threatened on an annual basis for the last three summers, there is now a date attached to the remaster of Plumbers Don't Wear Ties.

In an announcement on Twitter, the service now known as X for some moronic reason, publisher Limited Run Games confirmed that the notorious FMV game would release digitally on December 8. The announcement was accompanied by the official opening of physical preorders for the game next Friday.

Many new first party trailers, though not as much in the way of new information

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/64850/first-party-direct-updates-pokemon-warioware-mario-rpg-luigis-mansion

Quick updates to previously announced Nintendo games from the Direct:

  • Detective Pikachu Returns (October 3) added a new Pokemon to the partner lineup in Luxray, who can see through walls and joining Growlithe and (Galarian) Darmanitan. A specific window beyond "winter" was not given for The Indigo Disk DLC for Scarlet and Violet

TalkBack / Nintendo Museum Planned For Kyoto, Opening By End Of Fiscal Year
« on: September 14, 2023, 07:30:26 AM »

Is it any worse than stopping to talk about the Mario movie?

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/64849/nintendo-museum-planned-for-kyoto-opening-by-end-of-fiscal-year

A brief interruption of the Direct announced that Nintendo is planning to show off more of their history.

After showing off a Mario ? block design on the roof, it was confirmed that a "museum" will be a part of a new Nintendo building in Kyoto, and is targeting a launch by the end of March 2024. According to Nintendo, it will contain "a wide variety of products from Nintendo's history".

The museum will be based out of a renovated console repair facility that was closed in 2016 known as "Nintendo Uji Ogura Plant".

The last Smash Ultimate amiibo comes with a bottle of aspirin and a plot novel from his home series. (Or it should.)

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/64848/dates-and-windows-given-for-five-amiibo-including-final-smash-ultimate-one

The Nintendo Direct featured launch dates for four previously announced Amiibo as well as confirmation of the existence of a fifth.

  • The Tears of the Kingdom duo of Zelda and Ganondorf will be available on November 3
  • Noah and Mio from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will follow on January 19
  • The final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo - Sora - will be released sometime in 2024, roughly two and a half years after the character's release in the second Fighter's Pass.
