Mario Kart 8 for 25 or $35 after coupons/points back at Kmart for SYWR (which is free):
$20 points back for pre-order $5 points back for anything over $45. $10 electronics code for anything at $60 (the code has to be applied manual and I can't get it to double stack like others not sure why). ----------------------------------------
Loved the ship battles, diving, and spear fishing but there's always a downside to assassin's creed--the story. The "future" missions always sucked but now they made it into a mockery with a bunch of minigames like Frogger for one. Wish I could have skipped them altogether.
Also since I never did bother clicking your link until you mentioned it but that's an markup price PS4 Camera bundle. It should be 43,980 but they are "reselling" it at 49000 yen so no wonder why they have it in stock .
"I just checked Amazon japan and they still have units for sale"
LOL guess you never been to Japan but they are very pro-Japanese and Amazon is an American retailer.
The truth is the top 5 retailers in Japan have been out of PS4 since launch and only getting a small handful of units--not sure if sony bothered sending out more since the Limited Edition MGS one launches this week.
Started Ratchet and Clank Into the Nexus and was surprised to find out how short this game is. Nearly done and I only have 5 or 6 hours into it. R&C 1-3 were something like 15-20hr long for me so this is only 1/3 that? Not sure what's going on but it seem like platformers are getting shorter. SM3D World and Land were both 10-12 hours to completely unlock everything yet SMG or even Sunshine were 20+ hours easily.
Anyhow, other than it being extremely short--it's also a bit dull. There's only a couple of funny moments which is kinda at odds with the whole series. Why does this game take it so seriously. Can't recommend this one.
Bravely Default sequel is already in the works for the 3DS.
I don't think Donkey Kong moved WII U units, retailers had a fire sale (example Sam's $100 WII U Zelda bundle--people were price matching that deal like mad since the website stated the units were in stock even though it wasn't).
Think he was referring to "print" discounts. Everything goes through Nintendo and I believe Nintendo gives an discount to how many copies are printed--meaning if the order is small the fees are at the highest meaning the developers/publishers really don't get much profit.
Also Nintendo controls the Eshop and the front page is loaded 90% of 1st/2nd party titles usually, MS and Sony's does a great deal to promote 3rd party games. Just got done a few rounds of Zombies and MS front page was 3 three party titles (CoD Ghost (activision), ACIV (ubisoft) and one indie game think it was Castle Crashes (the rest were free to play tank game and a couple of ads for TV shows).
PS4 supply is still limited (hell it's limited everywhere) so those numbers might not actually reflect the demand and at the end of April is Japanese Golden Week start so I'm guessing a few people will be receiving an PS4 as gifts as well.
Also MGS Ground Zero is launching in a few weeks along with Nobunaga no Yabou Online, Natural Doctrine, and Dynasty Warrior 8 complete should help the ps4 maintain an 30K average a few more weeks.
Fans think the WII U needs an hardware boost and the fastest way to do that is an price drop so either Nintendo drops the gamepad or reducing the WII U price and eating the loss themselves. I don't think an price reduction is going change the NA market--at best the price reduction will sell to families and maybe a few hardcore players but that's about it.
Most likely using the new UE4 engine which would explain why it's skipping all of last generation hardware. Me, I don't currently own an next generation hardware (PS4/Xbox One) but I will eventually and I'd rather play a game that maximize the hardware vs playing something that tries to play the middle ground.
Thief (the reboot) is an example of this (developers were stretched to thin and the game runs poorly on any platform).
I meant was FFXV and KH3. Was doing two things at once.
Both these titles have had an *long* development cycle and I think Square Enix is bleeding money so I'm expecting to see an release date sooner than later. In fact, there's supposed to be an announcement any day now.
LoL, at the 40 hour mark myself and just entering the last stage--so far it's a lot better than M&L: Sticker Star but not as funny as M&L: Bowser's Castle.
The badge system works a bit to well, namely I upgraded it so I couldn't take damage for 18 total rounds :0 which only left the Gaint battles which were a pain because they focused on the tilt and touch functions of the 3DS.
Overall I'm enjoying the hell out of it and should be finished with it by lunch today.
"Those are horrible software sales in general for the system."
Knack was free plus a lot of people took advantage of "free download" upgrades for games like FFXIV. it's not really surprising to see low software sales.
The Japanese launch window is a bit sparse but in the fall there's supposed to be more Japanese type games like the Order, KHIII, ect and that's where the PS4 should boom.
There's not a big push for "home" console development in Japan since the 90's--it's all about the handhelds in the land of the rising sun--which is the total opposite of the US and European markets.
Yeah, I'm expecting an Sept release date. Releasing games in the summer generally don't sell as hot but I can't imagine it going any later than that since SSB will be releasing oct/nov.
