I'm gonna say probably around 10.  I'll jump on here first to see if any plans have changed.  Otherwise, I'll see you then.

Haha. I'll actually be on for the next hour or so - if that works for you.

Great job White Mage!About the paths.Maybe if you don't visit your town for a few days the snow will cover it.I'm not sure.

Nook's Cranny is going to be remodeled tomorrow. So If you want to stop by I have a Cabin Couch and some carpet and wallpaper.Respond here or PM me if ya wanna visit.

I'll definitely visit!  I've actually got a bunch of furniture I need to get rid of and if there's anything you want, you can have it before I sell it all.  That goes for everyone else here too.

What time will you be playing later?

5. Wii Fit
4. Mario Kart Wii
3. De Blob
2. Animal Crossing
1. Super Smash Bros.

I wanted to put Secret of Mana on there since it was released on the VC in 2008, but I figured that would be cheating.

I also haven't played No More Heroes yet, but I'm sure it would be on there.

If it had ALL OF THEM than I would be more inclined to get it.  I heard they have a version of Zelda and Mario or something. Anyway as is i love G&W in Smash but not enough to waste so many points for .

Speaking of points, now the website is worse than before.
Yesterday I could go in and attempt to take survey's but it always threw me out, now the Survey's are all GONE. The single survey I did do I got credit for, but I don't have the option to go back. WTF.

I'm going to wait a little longer and hope Nintendo fixes things. This is really getting annoying.

Yeah, it is really bad today.  I can't even log in.  I punch "sign in" and all I get is the never ending blue loading circle that eventually leads to nothing.  I wonder how long the site is going to be like this?  Not that I'm in any real rush to complete all my surveys, but it would be nice if something worked correctly when it was released.

TalkBack / Re: Advice to PS3 Fans from a Nintendo Fanboy Part II
« on: December 17, 2008, 10:22:36 AM »
I am thoroughly enjoying these PS3 Fan posts!  I just find it very interesting that we, as Nintendo fans, have something to share with Sony fans - and it's the idea of dealing with a console that's sitting in last place.  Before the announcement of the PS3 and Wii and their respective price tags, who would have ever thought that such radical shifts in console leadership would eventually take place.

I think a lot of what you touched on makes quite a bit of sense.  It's going to be a tough road for Sony, but eventually making a profit is something that is obtainable.  It will take time and there will probably be a few more mistakes along the way, but by following the points you mentioned - it does seem possible.

Isn't the guy from Celebrity fit club a former drill instructor?

Yes he is, but I believe he is from the U.S. Marine Corps as well.

I finally caught a ceolacanth this morning , thanks to the advice from Bill.  Just being patient and making sure it really had the lure was all it took.  There's a picture over in the eternal love & snapshot thread along with some random others.

I also finally met Phineas today and got a bubble wand.  Those two things pretty much made it the best day of Animal Crossing thus far.  Now if Nook would only upgrade.

Also, you know how a path starts to form when you walk/run over a certain area time and time again?  Does that ever get covered back up from another snowfall?  The only reason I ask is because my town is starting to look kinda dirty instead of the nice white winter setting it once was.

^Freya works the local brothel.

^For a second, I thought Hitler was on TV.

^Aurora has a UTI

^She's also a robot zombie with dastardly plans.  How could I not go along with her.  THOSE EYES!

^If anyone visits, my town, please... PLEASE... stay away from Mac.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Tales of "Mothership"
« on: December 16, 2008, 03:54:09 PM »
I'm actually excited about this.  Tales of Symphonia was my first foray into the Tales of... universe and I had a wonderful time with it.  There's something about Dawn of the New World that makes me a little bit apprehensive about purchasing it, but the overwhelming popularity of it on this site might make me change my mind.

But this new "mothership" (even with lack of basically any details) has me incredibly excited.

Coelacanth, bail out of a bite MUCH faster than other fish.  All I can really give for advice is to make sure that the fish has actually bitten the lure (this is tough because you instinctively yank the pole as soon as you see it go "down", when the fish might have just been playing with it)...But yeah, the main issue is that you need to be fast...

Thanks for the advice.  Hopefully it starts snowing again tonight so I can try to catch it again.  I never thought that something in an Animal Crossing game would be so difficult to accomplish.  Time consuming and tedious maybe, but never difficult!

Gah!  I don't know why I keep attempting to get the site to work.  I should just wait until the weekend but there's something about the idea of getting fake coins that really appeals to me.  Unfortunately, instead of kicking me off after I click onto a new page, it simply won't log into my account.

yeah i agree. I guess Nintendo expected to release this next week or something and didn't expect people to find out and slam the website so fast.

That's gotta be what it is.  It seems like they rushed it out and forgot to make sure it was actually working.

As good as it feels to see Nintendo and Sony in completely reversed places this time around, I really don't necessarily want Sony to fail.  That just seems needlessly cruel.  Sure they may copy tech/ideas from others, sure they mostly pander to a demographic of gamers that find joy in bald space marines and shooting hookers, and sure they were incredibly arrogant going into this console generation to the point that it's so ironic that they are where they are, you can't help but laugh.  But hoping that they drop out of the game business is a low blow (not saying that anyone is calling for that here, but around the web, I see it a lot).

I look back at the GameCube and even to some extent the 64 and what it was like to be a Nintendo fan during those eras, constantly defending your "child's toy" of a system, hoping and waiting for the next great game (more often than not, from Nintendo themselves), and waiting for the day that they finally announced the oft rumored online plans.  To be honest, it wasn't the best of times.

I don't really wish that anyone has to endure that side of the gaming culture.  It's one of the worst parts of being a fan - that you may be rooting for the loser while the majority is for the winner.  No one wants to be in that position.  As "bad" as Sony and it's fans may be, I don't think they should be run into the ground.

At the same time, someone is always going to be number one and someone is always going to be last.  So is life.  And I'm glad Nintendo's not in last, haha.

the site keeps bumping me off, making me log back in every 2 minutes.  Gah!

Yeah, same here.  Anytime I click to a new page I have to sign back in.  Plus the site is moving incredibly slow.

Has anyone caught a Ceolacanth yet?  For some reason, every time I think I'm going to get one, I miss it somehow.  It's obviously a ceolacanth because the shadow is pretty huge, but when the lure goes under and I press A or jerk the controller, it misses.  It's happened about 4 or 5 times now and I'm getting frustrated.  Is there a different timing issue when trying to catch it?  I don't have any problems catching the various other fish (stringfish included).  And I don't remember having this much trouble with it on the Gamecube game.

Maybe I'm just slow.

EasyCure, I will visit your town if you get the game!
Bill, if you have your gates open some time tonight I will visit you, but no pressure as I can hold out and wait for Greeny when you return.
I use Wii Speak, but when I play alone I wish I had a keyboard because the point and click style keyboard is awkward and slow. Maybe I'll pick one up in a few weeks or so.
The only piece of furniture that has a game system is The Pink Box- it has a GameCube and something else in it, I forget. You can't play them, they're just for show. I gave it to Golden Phoenix when she came through. Maxi left me a bunch of cool stuff at my gates and got me back into the groove of donating fish to the museum so there will be lots of stuff for people to see no the next visit. I am going to try to make some patterns this week to spread around as well.
What games could you play in the GameCube Animal Crossing?

Completely agree, the point and click method of entering text is awful.  I keep finding myself moving the joystick around trying to move the reticule to the letter I want like it was on the GameCube version because I seem to remember it being faster than me struggling with the wiimote.  I don't know how many times I've had a typo because of it.   A keyboard would be incredibly helpful.

Also, when you are using the wiimote to type letters, etc. out, is there a dedicated "backspace" button that I haven't figured out yet?  I think the B Button handled deletion in the original, but it just seems to cancel the letter writing process in City Folk.

Does anyone know if any of the stuff that you may already have registered gets counted?  I would hate to have my years of dedicated number/letter entry be lost.

I think NoA said that some of the things registered will count, I have plenty of unregistered Wii and DS games unregistered so I wonder how much I can get.

Well, at least some of my stuff will carry over then.  I haven't physically typed in a Wii game registration code for a while now because once I linked my Wii to my My Nintendo account, anytime I played a game that could be registered, my Wii sent the info to the account.  I didn't think anything of it until now.

There are a lot of things I like better aboutthe GC one though.

For example,

I liked it better when there was a lost and found with a seperated police station.
I don't like how the townhall and the post office are one place.
I don't like that there is no dump, rathera recycle bin. I liked the dump.

Also, are there NES games in this one? That was serious bragging rights what NES games you had.

I don't mind not having those so much.  But, what I really miss is having the gyroid out front of your house so you could save there.  I hate not being able to change anything about my attic "bedroom" other than swapping out the bed.  They couldn't let us change wallpaper or flooring?

Not having played the DS version, what was the method of saving for that game?

I'm actually really excited for the Mario Power Tennis wiimake.  I never had a chance to play it, but if it's anything remotely like Mario Tennis for the 64, then it's going to be an instant buy for me.  As for the Pikman do-over, I'm okay with just owning the Gamecube one.  I really enjoyed the game a lot, but just don't see it as a rebuy.  I still have an unopened Pikmin 2 game waiting to be played.

I'm really tempted to just pick this up on pay day this wed. but.. Does the AC+ Wiispeak bundle exist at all because I've yet to see it in any stores. I wouldn't mind a seperate purchase (i can send annoying voicemails to all your wii's like the one i got today) but the bundle would be the better deal.

The only place I've actually seen that bundle is at Best Buy.  I don't know if they have it as an exclusive or I've just missed it at every other place I've been (which very easily could be the case).

This looks like a fun game to add to my list of Wii titles to buy, once I get a Wii.  :-X
I never picked up WW for my DS light, so the transition from the GC version should be great.
I went from the GC game to this and it is a nice jump.

That's what I did as well.  I know a lot of people across the internet were complaining about there not being enough of a difference from WW to CF, but the transition from the GC game to this one was a welcomed improvement for me.
