A new HD remake of Flowerworks: Follie's Adventure is being released this quarter, developer Nocturnal Entertainment has announced.

Originally released for WiiWare in 2010, Flowerworks HD is revamped to make use of the Wii U's HD capabilities. Nocturnal attributes the project to Nintendo's kindness; the company lent Nocturnal Wii U devkits in order to complete the port.

Being their first release since the original Flowerworks, Nocturnal considers the HD remake to be their version of a Kickstarter campaign. Should the game do well, the studio will continue to develop games for the Wii U.

Flowerworks HD: Follie's Adventure was submitted to Nintendo for approval last week. Once that is complete, Nocturnal plans to release the game in the US this quarter, with a European release to follow shortly thereafter. Check below for a handful of screenshots from Flowerworks, all in glorious HD.
