Nintendo Gaming / Re: Animal Crossing Turnip Prices
« on: March 25, 2020, 01:50:02 PM »
I’m resurrecting this thread for new Horizons players who want to play the Stalk Market. My afternoon buying price is 115, let me know if you’re interested in selling. Please post if you’ve got a higher selling price, I’m looking to sell!

52
Turnip prices are going for 108 on my island this morning. Dodo code is 0W27J. I’ll be away from the system, but I’m leaving my gates open for anyone if they want to sell stuff.

53
This also happened to me. It was annoying, but I got the recipe I needed the very next day. This is the only time the game has done something like this to me and I find it weird. I hope it doesn’t happen again

I’ve already seen duplicate items on sale and have been visited by the same special characters in my first week. I feel like that shouldn’t be happening at all, but I do remember this occurring in past games.

More villagers have moved in and I’ve got the full run of the island. I’m still upgrading the shops and will probably pay my second mortgage today. I’m wondering if crafting tools will be a permanent mechanic in the game or if there are unbreakable (golden) tools.

Regarding online: Connecting has been fine, but are we left to make up our own fun? I was hoping that some sort of party island to play multiplayer games like before, but I haven’t seen or heard anything about that.

I NEED IT NOW AND I haven't figured out how to unlock it yet (no spoilers!).  I unlocked the ability to craft an upgraded shovel, but that does me no good without the regular shovel. :(

I played a little bit right after midnight and have played all morning. The game has a way of giving faster access to tools and items. having two currencies is fun because you’re just constantly getting both as a result of incentivizing every task beyond a Happy Home Academy score. I will say for anyone curious about the speed of things that as it stands now I wasn’t able to upgrade to better quality tools until after a certain point and I’m a day away from have the museum and my house a day away. Usually getting a house upgrade or access to certain tools could take days or weeks depending on ones play style.

It’s gorgeous and the music is cool, I played with headphones and really enjoyed the sound quality. I think the Nook Link mobile app has a cool design, but is ok at best. I’m interested in scanning in some QR codes and I like there is a list of villagers, but there isn’t any details about them beside their name and picture. There’s a space for another app, I’m not sure what it could be for. That’s just from my few hours of playing. Overall I’m enjoying my time with it so far.

Has anyone predownloaded the game?  I am kinda interested in what people think of the game thus far.

Not sure what roles are left, but I’m down for a few rounds. Can I be Mecha Ridley?

Nintendo Gaming / Re: What games made the best use of Streetpass on 3DS?
« on: February 26, 2020, 02:27:12 PM »
Dragon Quest IX had a map trading system that was really extensive. There were exclusive maps for America and Japan, but I think it was possible to get the Japan maps. They were basically dungeons to get loot and experience, I put in much more time with that game because of the street pass stuff.

Animal Crossing is a second for me because you could order items from the house. I would favorite houses and mine their rooms for stuff I didn’t have.

Honestly Streetpass was a really fun experience, I would enjoy to see it come back in some way.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: The Animal Crossing Switch Thread of Madness
« on: February 25, 2020, 02:21:33 PM »
This was the reason I bought a Switch all along. Nintendo merging their handheld and console departments was a good idea and I think we’re going to see a lot of those flourishes streamlined in this game. I really can’t wait to get it all started. I have a bunch of Amiibo cards that I barely remember buying, glad I can keep using them. I’ll try to buy some of the new ones whenever they’re printed. I had my hopes up high for this one- maybe too high, but after the direct I’m expecting a really robust experience.

I haven't played in a few months- around when the Animal Crossing update came out. I got pretty far through the game on my own, but I'd be happy to do it all again!

I played Live A Live a long time ago, it doesn't have much replay value but it left me feeling how some smaller indie games left me feeling. I remember it wrapping up real nice. Also TwinBee is dope. I never thought Nintendo would put them on the VC and now I have a little hope that they can be bought over to the US.

TalkBack / Re: The Great 3D-Switch Up
« on: November 19, 2016, 07:01:01 PM »
This is an excellent read with a lot of reasonable explanations with proper citations which I appreciate. I'm going to be rereading this over time to unpack my thoughts about this over time.

I initially wrote that email as a knee jerk reaction to seeing the Switch video and running with possibilities. I wasn't considering battery life among many other things when I wrote it. I think right when RFN was going over it I immediately thought up some kind of mock up of a portable Switch. I think Johnny called it a Switch Micro and I can sort of see it conceptually, but I'm not an engineer so I can't explain how it would work.

In time when Nintendo reveals more details we will be able to see more of what the Switch will have to offer and I think hopefully by then we can have a better objective view about the system.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Who's excited for Animal Crossing: New Leaf
« on: November 19, 2016, 10:48:40 AM »
I started playing because of the update, found that I had rebooted my town nearly a year to the day and so I've begun the long hard road to rebuilding my house and town. I had bought a few packs of the Amiibo cards to see what they do and I've been happy with them. Normal townie cards give you the option for them to move in immediately or get a random gift. While they don't come along with their own RV, scanning the cards have been effective in getting residents to move in as well as getting Meow Coupons. I'm excited to see the new set of cards that will come out next month since those cards will have characters with RVs. I've checked out some of the cards and some of the characters display Wii U or 3DS systems so I suspect being able to get the systems could be easier if you don't have any Animal Crossing Amiibo figures. I have Link and Splatoon Amiibo and scanning them has been cool to get exclusive items, but they turned out to be lame characters so I had to move them out. Animal Crossing has been my happy safe place for the past couple of weeks.

I love that even articles that seem to have information on the NX only end up obscuring what the NX is or could be.

I've been waiting for this day for what seemed like forever. I'm glad to finally get the ball rolling, I'm excited!

65
I've been playing it for a few days and it's not as Monster Hunter as I thought it would be and actually reminds me of a mix between Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest IX. It's got the same vague plot as Legend of Legacy, but I found this more tolerable because of the Final Fantasy setting. The lack of 3D caught me off guard but it doesn't hurt the game play.

I would imagine they would want to launch the program alongside with Miitomo which is supposed to come out in March as well.

I was sure that Shovel Knight was a shoe in, but Bayonetta is a fantastic addition. The DLC being built from scratch managed to keep the game relevant for over a year. Eventually I'll pick up all of the characters, it's a great game and all the extra content that the fighters come with make a great addition to the game overall even if you don't use a character much. Now if my update would just finish....

That's pretty late for me tonight, maybe we can hunt Friday night or over the weekend. I'm on the East Coast :/

70
I'm free most evenings, this week especially I have a lot of down time. I'm free to play anytime in the evening. I don't have any goals right now in the game so I wouldn't mind just helping to get parts or raise HR.

71
I bought this way back around April or May- whenever it was on sale. I have a friend who was playing a lot so I thought I'd jump in and give it a go. I found this version turned out to be more accessible than previous games and while I haven't played online much really my buddy and I have gotten up to G Rank pretty quickly. I've mainly been using sword and shield, it's been working out pretty good for me. I'm looking forward to MHX if it comes out here- hoping for a next year release.

I have a total of four codes to share, two from me and two from a friend. Anyone here who still didn't get one yet?

Can I have one? Please say yes, my birthday is tomorrow.

I enjoyed reading this- a lot of good info to pick up on. With the Miis and all their added details as well as the Amiibo figures and even a 3DS version this makes me feel like it might be the very last Smash Bros game. I don't want it to be, but it's just comes off as being the past games best parts boiled down and welded together. I don't know how Nintendo could top this version, but that's what I thought about Brawl too.
