Zelda: The Wind Waker OST
« on: February 06, 2003, 09:27:59 AM »
Nintendo has finaly set a date for the new Zelda OST.

It will be released on March 19 for the price of 3200 Yen (About $27.00).  This will be a 2 disk set.

Both CDjapan and Amazon Japan are currently taking pre-orders, and will both ship to the USA (And won't chage you a insane import markup, just higher shipping).

You'd need to have a lot of faith in Nintendo to buy a CD of music you've never heard before.

Don't listen to him, that CD is really the oatmeal man singing amish jigs!

By the way, OST stands for "Original Soundtrack."

I wonder when it will come stateside I usally don't import these things. But I will buy one if its brought over. They did so with OoT, and I thought it was near the release of the game.

i don't anyone bringing the complete OST stateside, given that it's two discs. If i remember correctly, the Ocarina of Time OST was two discs, but the US soundtrack was only one.

i've heard many songs from videos and MP3s, and i'd have to say the OST is probably worth the purchase.

Rory C: If you want Metroid Prime music, check Kazaa. Someone recorded most if not all of the music from the game. Sound quality could be better, but it'll do until they release an actual soundtrack, *if* they ever do.

OK, the thing I could probably do without is the 27 bucks, but if it's Zelda, I'll pay it. Orchastrated?

Almost all japanese game OST's released in the USA are just compilation CD's.  Every now and then tokyopop or some other label will pick up a full OST, but there just isn't the market that there is in Japan, and with importing being much more affordable now, it's just not worth it to them.

OOHH!!! Gimmee!  The best songs are all during cut-scenes, etc. so I never get a good chance to record them.

I'm gonna get the TWW OST.  The music is in this game is awesome.   Classic Zelda tunes updated.  I'll probably get it off of ebay or something.  It's not worth it to wait because NOA ususally doesn't do the greatest job when they bring over game soundtracks.  Granted they do something, but not quite to the level that the people who would actually buy game music would like.

Also, I have all 44 tracks from Metroid Prime.  That dude was right, check kazaa.  It took me a couple of weeks to dl them all, but I got 'em.  I don't see Nintendo releasing a Metroid Prime OST, so you have to take matters into your own hands.
I like videogames.  I like them a lot.
