I've done a little bit of research, and while I understand that some night actions have priority over others, I don't think the order the night actions were sent in during the day takes any effect over the order of which they occur the night. In fact, considering it takes time to die over poison, I'd say it's a fair assumption that if an insane murderer were poisoned by sandwich, he'd still at least come close to a kill before he died.
Of course, like I said, some night actions do have priority, for example, the doctor's protection comes before an attack on a player, the Godfather's hit out even if he's killed, as well as a few other scenarios, however, in this case, I don't see why poison had priority over savage, brutal, old-fashioned murder. If anything, both I and my target should have died, unless poisoning is a day action, not a night one.
