Skyward Sword is actually among the very best games in the entire series. How anybody thinks it's bad it utterly beyond my comprehension.

I really enjoyed playing Skyward Sword. In fact, I'm considering selling my disc and buying it digitally now.

Some unexpectedly great Wii U news! I'm nearing the end of The Wind Waker right now and plan on moving on to Twilight Princess next, so I'm glad I'll be able to jump to Skyward Sword right after that now too. I wish this game got the Nintendo Selects treatment, as I would have liked to have a physical copy of it, but at this point I'm just happy to be able to play the game affordably any way I can.

I'm in the camp of Skyward Sword being a weak entry in the series. Those silent realm segments are just horrible and punishing when failed. The mild annoyance of Hyrule Castle in OoT evolved into that monstrosity of a game mechanic as Zelda console games evolved. I really hope the new direction for BotW means no more mandatory stealth sections.

I can't find the motivation to finish Skyward Sword. I've tried. Groose is still great though.

Skyward Sword is my favorite Zelda because they took the best part of the 3D Zelda experience to me, the dungeons, and made the whole game around it.  It also made the combat a lot more fun to me since fights were more engaging and not just mindlessly button pushing like the previous 3D Zelda's.  Yeah it's not the most challenging in the world either but having to actually aim at certain parts of the enemies and Parry some of their attacks back at them made for a more stimulating experience then the previous 3D Zelda's.

Oh yeah and Lanayru Desert is easily the pinnacle of Zelda game design.  The whole timestone mechanic and how brilliantly it was implemented throughout the entire area including the dungeons was just amazing and shows why no other company or studio even comes close to offering this kind of experience.

It isn't my fave Zelda, but otherwise I agree with what Luigi Dude has to say about the game. I enjoyed the dungeon designs and the sword and shield mechanics, and I rarely had issues with the controls. However, the reason it isn't a contender for my faves are because of things like the pointless padding of the backtracking segments and, you know, Fi, enough said there.
