Nintendo Gaming / Re: Advanced Wars Wii U

Nintendo were trying to go with a more gritty style with the reboot Days of Ruin. I imagine they would still keep to a more animated look. Going too realistic means splatters of blood everywhere and that just pushes the age rating up without really adding anything significant to the experience.

Totally agree but, Monster Hunter Tri having online was a compromise.  On the PS3 one they literally built in Adhoc party to do the same thing.  Which is the hack to get it online for the PSP.  Its really silly.

Super incredibly silly because your PS3 had to be connected to the Internet via an ethernet cable while your PSP connected to the PS3 via Wifi, there was no way around it.

Well there was a way around it, but you had to connect your PS3 via ethernet to another computer that had an Internet connection and then bridge the connections in your network settings.

Q1 Wii U titles don't seem to be very appealing. Apart from Monster Hunter I wouldn't buy any of those other titles without a few reviews first.

I drew a hedgehog (a realistic one, not Sonic) next to some poop a while ago and it got deleted by the Miiverse police. Now the thing is it was classed as "sexual" in some way. I replied back and said I didn't break any rules I got told to read the Miiverse code of conduct.

There are some very kinky people working at Nintendo. People who may enjoy 2 girls 1 cup.

How much rage can one man possibly rage?

Do these units with pre-installed games come with an extra large SD card? My standard 3DS XL came with a 4GB that I've since changed to a 32GB.

I tell ya in Kid Icarus I spent hour and hours crafting the perfect weapons.

Like the phosphora bow that already has the best homing shots of any weapon with passive paralysis, the one I made had even more homing and paralysis. It was almost impossible to evade my shots unless you were already in the evade animation.

The premise of the game is you are the one controlling this system that sorts luggage that is to be loaded on to planes before departure.

I like puzzle games, I really do. I do not like puzzle games enough to like this. On the 4th challenge it gives you the game just becomes a mind numbing multi-tasking nightmare and does not feel enjoyable at all. Upon completing a challenge there is little satisfaction to be gained due to the game's lack of presentation.

I regret my purchase.

This would be handy I spend so much time on Miiverse I often see the low battery indicator. Still its Nyko, so yeah reviews first.

I'm sure the 3DS could produce better graphics than this, but is the overworld truly giant like a sandbox GTA game? That would explain the toned down graphics style.

Or they started development on the DS.
Generally all 3DS games look bad in screenshots and videos but look better on the 3DS and even better in 3D mode.

I'm going to hate levelling up that Dratini all the way up to a Dragonite. In case you don't remember dragon type Pokemon take the longest to level up.

Not played one since Ruby/Sapphire. I'll be glad to get in to Pokemon again. I heard in the more recent games that each Pokemon had a more specialised roles to play in each battle making it more strategic than merely seeing who had the upper hand in types and move types.

I've been enjoying it.  We should play some time.  Now I've only been progressing at B level so you'll wipe the floor with me but it be fun.
Be sure to add me to your friends list if you're not already on my list.

I have a problem where I look at people on my list and I think "Is this someone I know from NWR?" Because not everyone has the same username on Miiverse. I'm looking at you Caterkiller.

General Gaming / Re: Sony patents tech to block used games
« on: January 04, 2013, 05:22:14 PM »
I think it makes sense. If you follow the business side of the games industry then you'll know the alternative to this technology is even worse.

Online passes, DLC, tacked on multiplayer, higher priced games... and maybe a few more I haven't thought of.

Generally more money is being spent making and marketing games yet we are still paying the same for them and that's just this generation. I don't even want to know how bad its going to get if the next Xbox and PS4 are going to have much higher specs.

If they include this tech we may see more "complete" games in the future.

This. Game. Is. Hard.

Ok so I've managed to get all 232 stars in Grand Tour mode and I've beaten all the Grand Prix's in expert including mirror mode. I'm working my way to getting the triple star license and I tell ya... those expert ghosts on time trials are killing me!

I must have spent 45 minutes on that Shinobi level because the ghost drove so perfectly it was hard to make any headway. After I beat it I checked the leaderboard and its like only 30-40 other people managed to beat it too. The Panzer Dragoon track was crazy too because 80% of it is in the air and you have to chain all these risk-boosts together to get ahead of the ghost.

Can you imagine a kid getting this as a gift because their parents looked at the box and thought it would be a fun cheerful game then for the lifetime of the game the kid can't unlock half the characters.

I'm having fun in the online mode. Except for the quitters, this one guy was consistently beating me in 4 races and before I manage to win the 5th one he quits on me; honestly though I felt a little satisfied for making him quit.

Hmm I think I'd like to continue the Epic Pikmin Bro Saga at some point.

I'm going to draw Mario in all black with an eye patch, he'll approach Nintendo stars asking if they've herd of the Super Smash Brothers Initiative.

Sure, draw it any time. Maybe it can just be Mario making an open invitation and other people can contribute to the thread with their own pictures of the candidates. I'll be sure to contribute.

Not that I know of for 1,2 and 3.

I have gone through all the settings to see what I can tweak.

Played the demo on 360, kind of a pony one trick pony.

sorry I had ponies on the brain

The DualShock3 and Pro Controller use a USB mini-A connection and I don't even use the cable that came with the PS3, the damn thing is too short. I bought myself a longer Type A to Mini-A cable.

It works just fine whichever way you use the cables.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: NSMB U director says level editor is possible!
« on: December 29, 2012, 02:06:03 PM »
Not that simple.

They would have to design a system where you can see other peoples levels, search all the levels made by a specific user and have a spot for featured levels that are enjoyable, for experts etc.

Then they would need some kind of cloud storage for it where you can upload a number of levels and people could download them.

A level designer is one thing but then there's all that other stuff behind it.
