what is this "Phantom"?
« on: February 18, 2003, 12:15:46 PM »
I'm sure some of you have heard about this new videogame console. But what I want to know is, is this for real? The problem is, it's creator is not giving much details, any inquiries by the press have been avoided, and this thing is supposed to debut this December. Either this is crummy marketing, or we're in for a scam.

Yea, I heard about it. Check out the website, I forget the Address though. >/ Anyways, I think it's possible. It says it has like..a whole lotta games already. Maybe it uses PC games? And notice how there isn't any controller outlets? Mmhm. Gonna cost alot I bet. Maybe around 350 American Dollars. O.o

the website is http://www.infiniumlabs.com/

and in my opinion, it's just a big hoax.

the details regarding the system and the company are next to none, and what it promises to do is nearly impossible to do from a business perspective.  there's no way this company could hope to put out this system and make a profit.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

G.I. wrote an article this month about it.  What they have to say makes me believe that this is a hoax.

yeah, and apparently so has IGN. I do hope this is a hoax, the market is already crowded enough with three systems imo.

@ $700 USD even if this thing does turn out to be real (wich I doubt) it will be a massive failure.

infinium labs is real, this seems like a last ditch away from bankruptsy. If you type in infinium labs in yahoo youll find out hteir a small video card and sound card producer that is pretty much cookie cutter.
NWR has permission to use any tentative mockup/artwork I post
