Nintendo Gaming / Zelda Using Motion Sensor for Sword!

Yay! I think using the wiimote just for controlling navi was kinda pointless. Well, now that might be taken out itself, but yeah. I'm really glad they made using the wiimote is now actually part of the game instead of it being a really small thing that you don't use very often.

Nintendo Gaming / Sudoku Gridmaster vs. Brain Age's Sudoku
« on: July 28, 2006, 02:15:38 PM »
Even Nintendo admits that Brain Age's Sudoku is the ideal way for it to be played. Go to http://www.nintendo.com and you'll see the Sudoku Gridmaster "ad/button"(I don't really know what to call it...) and the guy is playing it sideways! I just thought that it was pretty funny.

hold the DS a little bit farther away. And I mean almost arms length.

Nintendo Gaming / DS Screen Protectors
« on: June 12, 2006, 03:45:43 PM »
There was a thread about this awhile ago, but yeah. In that thread they mentioned the NuShield Screen protectors as being the best kind, however on the website it only shows it being made for the regular DS. Does anybody know if it will still fit the DS Lite?

I bought my DS Lite on Sunday at Circuit City, but I didn't know about the deal. Has anybody gone back there and shown them the reciept and coupon for it?

EDIT: Nevermind, its not.

I don't think there's gonna be an online pictochat. It's probably not very easy to write using the wiimote.

I'm over it, but I still feel a little bit of stigma when it comes to telling people about it.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: ign pans nintendo's e3 conf
« on: May 09, 2006, 05:35:40 PM »
Yeah, but what has been said by Nintendo the last several months? "You'll know everything at E3" Or something along those lines. They could've detailed some of the OTHER important things like price, date (the lack of an exact date is worrying me), and the online service's interface. This is the best opportunity to announce these types of things.

It's a beat-em-up style game. Tons of classic beat-em-ups exist. Anybody craving for a new Ninja Turtles?

TalkBack / RE: Sony Tries to Ape Nintendo, Fails
« on: May 08, 2006, 07:20:23 PM »
Ugh I really hated seeing Sony's press conference. They said the lamest stuff like "Isn't this exciting?" I didn't like that girl from G4 or whatever it's called who demoed Nintendogs a year ago either. But at least she SOUNDED excited, although she was trying a little bit too hard. But Sony's guys said stuff so listlessly. And the blatant copy of Nintendo... and they called it their own innovation. They even called their own original playstation controller really unique and innovative when it was a SNES with hinges. But I think this will work out. Nintendo's controller is on a whole other level. But games that use tilt functionality can be ported. Whether that's a good or a bad thing remains to be seen.

EDIT: Also, the way they "unveiled" the PS3 controller was the lamest thing ever. Not only did they copy the way Reggie unveiled the DS, but they had their PS3 controllers in plain view from the beginning of the press conference! And that guy had the dumbest look on his face as he pulled it out.

NWR Feedback / Release Dates
« on: May 03, 2006, 09:12:37 PM »
I really like how the games are all sorted now, but... it takes 5 clicks just to see a specific release date list. It's really a small gripe, but I just wanted to let you guys know. It's just annoying to have to click.. wait for it to load... find where to click... wait for loading... click... loading... etc. Are we going to be seeing DS Release Dates/GC Release Dates/Wii Release Dates likns on the frontpage anytime soon? Or maybe just bring back a Release Dates link? Thanks in advance for your response!

and people seeing random advertisements outside will always have their hands on it.

It's really frustrating a little bit. I've gotten used to the name, but I find myself trying to be careful in the way I talk about it. Even developers have to be careful. One developer said "You really have to touch the revolution to really understand it." This was AFTER the name Wii was announced. I don't want to have to be careful in how I say the name of something.

Nintendo UK David Yarton says funny things.
Ya know, though I still think Wii is a bad decision, I DO like saying Wiimote.

From IceCold talking about a dictionary application for Wii. "Wow, I just had a revelation..

Wii DIC: Further extending your vocabulary.. '

Haha.

What sort of applications are there going to be on Wii?

Well, it makes up for the Game 1 where Kobe got hammered on a drive to the hoop. They seriously need to insert 4 refs or something. Three isn't enough.

Nintendo Gaming / Theories on how Wii was chosen
« on: April 30, 2006, 07:27:10 PM »
I remember awhile back they had this "What's your favorite Star Wars game" poll on a website. The game that won was the joke title, Jar-Jar Binks: Greatest Jedi of Them All. That's pretty much how Wii was chosen. They chose the joke answer.

So yeah, make your own little theories. Maybe this should belong in Ty's Funhouse, but oh well! (note: Not a serious discussion thread)

Nintendo Gaming / What should they pack in with it?
« on: April 28, 2006, 03:24:49 PM »
So what do you think Nintendo will ship with the Wii or what they need to ship to be successful. I say they need to ship Wii, two WiiMotes, two shells, two nunchuks and maybe a demo similar to the one at TGS (in gameplay concepts). Do you think that shipping it with the shell is essential? Which leads to a further question, are they going to sell the shell and regular controller and nunchuck as one package in stores?
