Hey no offense. I mean, it just looks disgusting to me,, someone who doesn't eat pork.

A roasted lamb sandwich however....

Oh god that reminds me of that disgusting lamb head picture you posted :(

Say what you want, but that was one of the tastiest dishes I've ever had. You should expand your horizons, young grasshopper. Not all food is dick shaped.

Culinary Bump!

I made another sandwich today, Spicy Turkey Bacon. Cost about $25 to make and weighed slightly more than the last sandwich. Pictures didn't turn out as well, I seem to have developed bloom lighting in my kitchen.

The ingredients were:
- 1 loaf of french bread, buttered and toasted in the oven.
- 3/4 cup of mayonnaise with tabasco sauce mixed in.
- 1 pound of smoked turkey breast, slightly fried in bacon grease.
- 14 thick strips of bacon (sorry Stogi)
- 1 green pepper sliced and seared briefly in a pan
- 1 red pepper sliced and seared briefly in a pan
- freshly ground chipotle chili seasoning
- freshly ground black pepper
- 8 slices of Pepper Jack cheese.

Same for me with the hunger and the time. I think the only options are McDonalds, Burger King and Jack In the Box. No sandwich places either. I think Taco Bell closed about half an hour ago too. There is a pizza place here in Portland open till 4AM but I think that's only on Friday and Saturday. They are called Hammy's. I've never eaten their food because they are out of my delivery area.

I think I'm going to shop for sandwich stuff tomorrow.

Nice sandwich ShyGuy

*EDIT*
I Googled them and found their site. They closed for carryout at 2:30, AHH!!!

Thanks for the positive reviews.

Brandogg, I don't eat it all at once, it makes several meals over a few days. I had oatmeal for breakfast if that helps.

Still dude, 14 slices of bacon, while delicious, is like disarming a bomb, blindfolded...you also have, I believe, 18 servings of mayonnaise. Thank you for the correct spelling of chipotle, people call it "chi-pole-tay" all the time, it drives me insane. Also, mail me a piece of the sandwich.

The mayonnaise could be replaced with a healthy alternative, I'm open to suggestions. The bacon is high grade so it has a lower fat content than your average bacon. Although if you get too healthy it defeats the purpose of an extreme sandwich. :0

There's too much bloom lighting in those shots. You need to send them to Sony to have them photochopped.

yum Chipotle, theres a restaruant called that in Tucson. Unfortunately they suck. Good mexican food comes from Yuma Az or Mexico itself. Actually, there is good Mexican seafood in Tucson, which is completely absent in Yuma, and Yuma is closer to Baja.

You can just use olive oil instead of mayo, or even light mayonnaise. I use bacon grease, or occasionally pancetta grease at work a lot. It's the most delicious thing ever made...but I'm trying to stray away from eating stuff like that.

Hmm olive oil may work... I am already forumulating ideas for my third sandwich. Roast beef would be classic, but I don't know of a butcher or deli around here that carries decent roast beef. It's all roast beef loaf. I may have to make my own roast. Sandwich with horseradish perhaps?

On the other hand, Perm talking about mexican makes me want to do something with Chicken Mole.

I also need to do a Teriyaki chicken one. Need to learn how to charbroil chicken for that though...

Your not a steak and potato person are you?

I made a pita sandwich the other day that contain chicken, feta, tzatziki sauce, hot sauce, and an assortment of vegetables. Maybe you could think of something Mediterranean.

I feel the need. The need for sandwiches.

My Barbecue Sirloin Sandwich

My third sandwich and the first one that I made with the help of my charcoal grill. Again, the ingredients worked out to about $25 and it weighed about 4.5 pounds.

The ingredients:
- 1 loaf of italian bread, buttered and broiled.
- 10 ounces of Stubbs Spicy Barbecue sauce
- 2 twelve ounce sirloin steaks, marinated in Stubbs Spicy BBQ, grilled to medium rare over charcoal, and then sliced  diagonally.
- 1 yellow onion’s worth of home made onion rings
- 4 slices of Kansas City bacon
- 6 slices of provolone cheese

I decided to make a blog dedicated to my sandwiches. I still plan on posting every sandwich I make in this thread, but they can also be found at http://www.extreme-sandwiches.com/ plus extra stuff.

That is really something, I've always liked onion rings on a sandwich. If I made that I'd add a few veggies to that to give it some crisp and soak up some of that sauce and grease.

Just the usual. Definitely some iceberg lettuce, or romaine if you fancy something more luxurious. Put it on top of the cheese so that it will be in the middle of the sandwich and absorb its juices when you squeeze it. Cut up a tomato into thin slices and place them underneath the cheese; this will help keep them from sliding out of the sandwich when you bite into it. This sandwich looks like it has a lot of flavour so some pickle slices would probably be another good thing to add since they have a strong flavour too. I'd put them directly on top of the meat, I feel that's always the best place to put pickles on a sandwich.

I couldn't know for sure without actually trying it, but by the looks of it those three things could compliment this sandwich nicely. However, if you're going to be eating this over the course of a week or so, lettuce might not be a good idea. It would probably get really soggy from the grease and may even turn brown.
