No.  As of right now the system's operating system does not use the USB port for anything.  Power does flow through it, so it will charge the iPod, but it doesn't check any devices attached to it.

If you want to play music on your Wii, you can either transfer mp3s to an SD card and listen to them through the photo channel or Excite Truck. You can also listen to music via Flash in the Wii web browser.

u can get them cheap like say 2gig card for like $15-$30, lower when u find sales on buy.com for instance.

WARNING: I put my iPod next to my Wii for just a minute. I swear I was going to come right back and pick it up. When I got back to my room my iPod was gone and my Wii...I swear to God...burped.
