If we do this again there really needs to be some incentive for the runner not to capture his own team's flag.

The idea was to allow a runner to play defensive.

If a Flag was exposed a runner could capture his own teams flag and save it from being eliminated.

I am definitely taking notes in my head about what is working with this game and what is not. So far it is hard to tell...I think the balance has proven to be good. But I would have liked to have at least 3 more player. 5 would have been best.

In the last game I was on the opposite end of what happened to you two, so I'm sure whoever did it probably feels terrible about it.

I guess I'll post here since the day thread is locked but man, I apologize. I just have not had time for this game. Is there a voting requirement since I now realize it has been two days since I've had a vote? I was trying to catch up with this game this morning but then work was so busy I never had the chance to do anything and as I warned you earlier, I'm in the middle of a move.

So sorry about the lack of participation. I'll make sure to get on here for a moment tomorrow and get a brief snippet of gametime in.

Khushrenada the voting requirement I believe was only for gunners.If they didn't vote for 2 days then they would lose a paintball.

It kinda sucks that the win condition I was aggresively playing for over the last day or two had changed and the rules not updated. I would have played a completely different game if I had known that sooner. Oh well.

That is true. It was my fault. I read through the rules one last time and tried to change everything and I just overlooked that situation.

Dasmos is talking about the section that said if everyone but flags died he would win. However, this win condition was developed before I allowed the Wario character to survive everything BUT a vote out. Although the Wario role had a disadvantage of being alone in the game, it made it easier to hide, I feel the original win conditions allowed for too easy of a victory.

That said their was a similar win condition that if the teams were TIED 1 flag each, or 2 flags each and no other characters then Wario would win to prevent a tie in the game. Why? if it is 1vs.1vs1 then Wario could just pick who he wanted to win, and thus he should allow himself to win. OR, 2 vs 2 vs 1. If they vote him out then it is 2 vs 2, and assuming everyone votes it is a tie. Not good.

So the Wario role had a few good win conditions. My major fault in the game was not explaining everything perfectly, because I didn't go over all the scenarios that could happen. I was very focused on school.

This game has been wonky...if team Bowser just shows up to vote and team Mario doesn't...then they can win, or at least get a tie. Can we have our first tie in Mafia history???

I had no clue what was going on the entire game. For awhile I thought Bowser gunners were my enemy. Then I thought Mario gunners were my enemy. Worst mafia game ever? I blame Maxi.

If you were that confused from the beginning of the game you could have PMed me...and I would have answered ALL the questions you had. I tried to make myself available, AND I tried to answer questions during the sign up thread before the game.

I am sorry you didn't enjoy the mafia game, and the teams confused you. Though, even without that knowledge simply voting on time would have saved you from death.

Actually, I realize you were also a Bowser Flag, you had 2 other people you could have PMed and talked to throughout the entire game to help explain and plan. Yesterday was a brilliant day actually.

I promise not matter what happens this is the last day of Mafia.

I am actually happy with the length of the game. I like Mafia to last 1 week and try to avoid the over the weekend mafia, because eventually the games get stale. That is unless a game is exciting.

Too me this game has been very exciting. So much stuff has happened and back and forth. I can't believe that a game went from a seemingly easy victory for team bowser, to a huge upset for team Mario, back to team bowser possibly having a chance to win. And we even had Wario up until the end, and the day before he died I thought he could have pulled off a miracle win.

This was one crazy and exciting game, there were many times when I thought the Bowser team was going to pull way ahead but then unexpected things kept occurring.

I almost forgot to mention Gylldas, I had a lot of behind-the-scenes conversation with him. I enjoyed playing with you, buddy!

I've no idea what was up with Pap64 but I think he was just busy and didn't have time to really read the threads. He only voted twice but both were for a Mario team member.

Good game everyone, it was fun.

As an aside, usually when I voted I used one of Birdo's lines from Super Mario Advance. I wonder if anybody noticed.

i thought it was an overall good game, but it needed tweaking. Capturing a flag didn't do any good for your own team, if played again with the same rules it would be advised just to play mafia the traditional way.

If i were to change the rules i would make it that if you caught your own flag you would just find out who were the flags, and your team mate wouldnt be eliminated, but if you captured the other teams flag it would eliminate a flag from the game or turn a runner into a flag.

Since the other topic is locked here is what I did this game.

Day0;Found 1 mario Flag. Since I didn't want to vote out Khushrenada because that would mean I knew something to other people. So I went with the Pale vote for voting for stevey. I had actually investigated Stratos but changed my investigation later to Pale. It was clear that Pale hadn't investigated stevey so I took that weakness and exploited it. End of Day 1.

Day 2; I had actually considered changing my role but since I didn't know my team I thought it was risky to do so.Also I only found 1 flag so if I became a runner and grabbed Khushrenada's flag there would't be any more flags that were known and no more investigations.

Day of the Pale vote I found out from Pale that GP was the last Bowser runner. So I PMed GP and asked her if she was the last bowser runner. She said she was and I told her who I was and my investigations.Asked her to capture Khushrenada's flag and Vote Pale.
Enter Plugabugz: He PMed me and GP and we basically gave him the silent treatment.I decided to investigate Plugabugz. I had investigated Mop_it_up earlier but changed it to Plugabugz.

I had a list of investigations but I knew I wouldn't survive long enough to do them.I would have to live to day 5 to complete them all. After the Plugabugz investigation I would investigate Dasmos but I died before I could do that.

Overall I would say that this game was nicely balanced.

I wouldn't. Same handicap results in the same thing. That "silent treatment" pretty much compounded it even further.

I was talking about myself.Giving you the silent treatment might have been a good idea if you were on the other team. I was being overly cautious this game.
