I didn't pay. All my friends wanted to see it, so I got one of them to pay for me.

so shut yer trap? Nah thats too harsh, and i actually have some respect for ya (why? beats me).

Are we gonna have to have the "nothing beats free" talk again?

(on second thought, your avatar alone is respect worthy)

The Box - Worse than "2012"/10.

Man, this Richard Kelly guy needs to get his head out of his arse. Donnie Darko was okay, but way overrated, Southland Tales was horrible and The Box was worse. The guy's too worried about maintaining his "artistic sensibilities" to make a film that's actually interesting and not full of itself.

I won't be seeing his next film, if they let him make another that is.

I thought it looke ridiculous from the previews, but I didn't realise how ridiculous it could actually be. Honestly man just thinking about it shits me off, I want to punch Richard kelly more than M. Night. Shyamalalalan.

complete speculation here, but I thought I had figured out the plot of the box and decided to wait for DVD. I personally would have hit the button before he even finished his sentence and took my money and kicked him out, but here is how I think the movie goes.

speculation: the guy shows up and says "if you hit this buttton you get 1 million dollars, but someone else you don't know will die"
they hit the button and you join the pool of random people that will get killed if someone else hits the button.
The guy that presents you the offer was probably one of those people at one point (and survived) abd thats how he lost a chink of his face.

But I tried to watch Bruno late last nite (got caught up in a 2player NSMBW game). Is this movie a gay porno or something? It wasn't really funny but more of a "can I trick you into looking at my penis? HAHA isn't this scene more shocking than the last!?" movie. I will try and finish it (i made it about 30 minutes in b4 falling asleep) but WTF is up with this movie?

Bruno 2/10

the only really funny part of this movie was the part with the baby. the rest of it was just gay. literally and figuratively.

Perm - Short Bus is on my list (somewhere near the bottom of the middle where it is easily skipped over) since someone on a different forum recommended it. I will get around to it eventually.

I have nothing against gays or "gay" things. Bruno is trying to be the "gay" Borat and it failed at being funny. It was too much "gay" in your face and failed to achieve the humor that was present throughout most of Borat. The first 30 minutes were just a gay porno and the the next 30 minutes contained some moderately funny scenes(like the baby stuff) but the last 30 minutes devolved back into a porno only of the softcore variety this time.

It wasn't sexy, it wasn't all that funny and some parts were obviously forced. Its a failed attempt at replicating the Borat formula of a 2hr "you got punked" episode with a plot.

As far as Short Bus, I have a lot of movies in my Netflix queue. All new releases or things I'm really looking forward to are in the top 3rd, the middle 3rd are movies that will serve as filler for when I can't receive something in the top 3rd and the bottom 3rd are movies that are either about to go into "instant watch"availability or are purposely on hold(like a tv series or sequels to a movie I haven't watched yet) because I don't want to forget about them. Short bus is near the bottom of that middle 3rd along with lots of other movies that I plan on getting around to eventually.

"Careful, boy. That man's a national treasure."

Fun fact: I have the book that Matthew McConnahey is flipping through toward the beginning of the movie. It's fantastic.

The Thirst

A Korean vampire flick. It's a bit long, but it definitely has it's moments once the story gets going. The story doesn't really get going until about 45 minutes in though. The girl in movie is pretty hot but she is missing more than few screws.

7/10

Rocknrolla: 8/10. I enjoyed watching it, but I expected more action out of it.

Dead Snow: 7/10. Hmmm, well the zombie costumes and makeup are suberb, and so are the gore events. The rest is just boring.

Star Trek (by J. J. Abrams): 9/10. It's a great Star Trek movie. I loved it.
I actually got the limited edition from amazon.com. The Enterprise model is fantastic, it's made of metal too.
