Title: Mafia LVII:Sign up thread Friendship is Chaos Mafia Sign ups end August 16th

Well I have been planning this since the second Season of MLP:Friendship is Magic but things have been getting in the way of finishing its planning from getting a co host and putting it together and then figuring out how the roles should work in the game for each of the villians and the 6 main characters but that is behind me.
Anyway this is going to be a pretty different Mafia game from the last one that you guys just played in that it will be role heavy but I will explain as much as I can.
Game will start on August 17th 2012. I will put up the Day 1 thread in the morning. The voting will end later on in the night at Midnight EST.
I guess the first thing I should get out of the way is the Roles of both sides.
The Mane Six Apple Jack:Elemental Trait:Honesty Townie Role Protection. Can protect someone from attack during the night. Basically the Cop role in a normal mafia game.
Fluttershy:Elemental Trait:Kindness Townie Role Stare which blocks someones ability.
Pinkie Pie:Elemental Trait:Laughter Townie Role 4th Wall Breaking can get a random item. Also since she does this all the time in the show she would be able to pick first when she uses the ability. It will be random the item but she will get to go before anyone else.
Twilight Sparkle:Elemental Trait: Magic Townie Role Investigator. Learn someones role.
Rarity:Elemental Trait:Generosity Townie Role For Rarity in this Mafia game the other side namely Discord can really mess with the Main 6 and Rarity is here as a counter to that. Basically Discord can change the Main 6 against their element and pretty much useless to the cause. Rarity can reverse the damage done to her friends if she chooses wisely. After Discord dies Rarity loses the ability.
Rainbow Dash:Elemental Trait:Loyalty Townie Role: This is a sacrificial role. Where she can either use her ability once to throw herself on the vote to save someone from death or from blocking a hit on one of her friends. She can only use this once through out the whole game.
The Villains
Nightmare Moon: She makes the Day end one hour earlier then usual when she uses her ability. You may ask why I have this ability for her. Basically inactivity can mess with the balance of the game so this evens it for both sides. Mafia gets some trickery to use and townies have to stay on their toes and be attentive.
Discord.This is the Mafia's big gun. Basically he can turn 1 of the Mane 6 if he chooses correctly against their element. If he happens to get all 6 and he is still alive the game is over. If he dies before then everyone that was discorded will revert back to their previous status. Rarity can revert one of the Mane 6 back if she chooses wisely.
Finally Queen Chrysalis She can be searched twice. On the second search she shows up as who she is. I may change this though
Items
Anybody can use items. Good or bad.
Elements of Harmony
The Elements of Harmony can be used by someone who finds them but there is a catch. They have to figure out who is the Mane 6 and PM me their guess. They only get one guess a day. If they are correct then they can use it if they wish to use it on 1 person who they think is Mafia. If the Mafia gets the item then they can't use it but they will keep it away from the townies/Mane 6 and if the person with the EoH dies then that becomes unusable to the Mane 6 because it has been corrupted by Darkness. If the person with the EoH dies and is on the townie side then it goes back in the item pile.
Invisible Ink. This is more of a defensive item. You can be invincible for 2 attacks during the night.
Poison Joke Flower. This item causes the holder to not be able to do their action for the day. Be it Role or night action. You have no control over this really till the next day is up. This also affect the Mafias hit if the person in charge of the hit gets it.
Umbrella Hat: Your Pinkie Sense is twitching. Basically you can tell what type of role is being used on you when you have this item but not who is using it on you. Kinda a reverse investigation. You have to figure out who is looking for you yourself.
Anvil:This is one of the attacking items. I am either going to just make it so that it can stun the person for the day. This is different then Poison Joke Flower in that it only affects their role.
Binoculars: This item can tell you the persons role.
Knock out gas: This basically causes the person it is used on to not be able to vote for the next day.
Katana Sword: This item kills one person and then it goes back in the pile.
Chocolate Rain: Eternal Chaos comes with Chocolate Rain you guys Chocolate Rain! Basically a lot of bad things happen for both sides. This is an envirmental item and will last for 2 days after it has been unleashed. It basically causes lots of random stuff to happen to the items and roles and the Mafia. Pretty much the vote is the only safe measure unless you are really gambling with things.
Mare do Well Mask. This Mask can give the bearer the ability to fly above attacks or defend. The flying has a limited amount of uses. The flying, however will not reset back to the max when it goes back in the pile. The defends have an unlimited amount of uses. Basically you need to vote out this person to get this person out for good whoever is holding it at the time. Can defend against hits by Mafia for townies and can fly over items for the Mafia.
Buzz Saw. This item can kill someone of the players choosing. Simple as that.
Finally the Power of Love Spell. This can be used to either get rid of the Chocolate rain sooner if it is active or to get past Queen Chrystalis blockade of investigations quicker and find out who she is. For the Mafia they can use it and if Queen Chrystalis gets it as a item then she can add a member to the team because Queen Chrystalis feeds on love.
What is the purpose of the game?
If you are on the townie side you want to vote out the Mafia.
If you are Mafia you want to vote out the townie side.
How do I vote?
Each day I will put up the day thread and everyone will decide on who is Mafia and then vote for them. Simple type in bold for who you want to vote for. for example Vote Maxi.
If you want to change your vote then you must unbold your previous vote and make a new post while keeping your previous vote visable. un-vote Maxi and then make a new post with your new vote. I won't count your vote if you don't do this.
What is a Mafia hit?
The Mafia gets to attack 1 person each night with a kill action. The current Godfather will have to PM me with their action for the night. Nightmare moon will start as the first Godfather.
How are winners decided?
If you are a townie then you must vote and or kill all the Mafia members out of the game.
If you are the Mafia then you can win in two ways. Get the remaining of the Mane 6 alive discorded at the same time or to have equal amount of Mafia members as there is townies.
If we have any neutrals then they have to be the last one standing in the game.
What happens in the event of a tie?
If there is a tie then I will ask Rainbow Dash if she wants to put herself in the votes way. If not then there will be a 30 minute tie breaker period. The tie break can be done by anyone that has voted or by someone that hasn't yet that day.
If after the 30 minutes passed the tie break hasn't been resolved then nobody will die.

You don't have to if you don't want to Shyguy. Hey I can give you Gilda the Griffin to Role play as or one of the other Antagonist. A few other options are Iron Will the Minotaur or Cranky Doodle Donkey.

Okay I have added the items I have thought that would work best for the game. I have many more items I can choose from since I did a marathon of both seasons in the past 2 days just to look out for what items to put into the game. Look at the items and the roles and everything else up there and let me know if anything doesn't work out for balance. Okay I have to go grab dinner. Let me know!
Also I am thinking about adding 1 more item to the list but it would make players be able to get two items a turn. Let me know if I should forgo this action.

Well you don't have to of watched the show but it helps a little. If you look at the roles of the game and break them down and the items too they are somewhat similar to old roles and or old games and situations.
Actually looking at the roles and items only a few haven't been in previous games. Rarity,Nightmare Moon, Queen Chrystallis. For items. Only the Power of Love Spell is different from other games if memory serves as far as how things work. Maybe the Poison joke Flower.
Also the game starts in 2 weeks. If you want you can watch the 2 seasons. Maybe 2 hours a day if you want I did put that Season 1 and 2 link there under the interesting links and where I am putting the people who have signed up for the game.

Great we have 13 people signed up I believe I said 15 people for the 9 roles. I will run with the items if I get that amount of 15 people. As for the 3rd group I have decided on an amount of people. If I can get 21 people I will add 1 of the 3 group people. There is 3 of them and they are all different from each other. 2 of the roles is 1 person and the 3rd role has 2 people for the role.
So for 21 people the first 1 will be in play, the 2nd on will be in play with 25 and the last one will need 28. If these numbers are a bit high let me know.

Hmm I don't really have much to give really for prizes for this really. I could ask one of the better known MLP:FIM fan artists to draw something up but I make no promises on if that can happen or not since they can get really busy with commissions and stuff like that so if I do that it will be coming out of my own pocket and it will likely be based on what I write up for the ending of the story if it happens.
As far as I know there is a MLP:FIM comic but it is over in Europe and there is a new one but it is being worked on right now.

Okay guys and gals. This weekend is going to be pretty swamped for me so I will still be ending sign ups on the 16th and I will post the Day 1 thread on the 17th but this weekend we will not be playing since I will be busy and I will open the next day again on Monday. Now if you don't like this the other option is to extend sign ups until Sunday night and start on Monday. I figured that the first option would get people time to get into the game and used to their roles if they have them and the items and possible strats over the weekend break.

Okay ohhboy is offering that code from the last game for this game as one of the prizes so there is that. As far as MLP:FIM prizes go I guess I can see if I can go out and see if I can find some merch for the winners of the games.

Thanks for pointing that out Unclebob. Also Shyguy I was on twitter today and it was tweeted out that the comic book that I was talking about comes out in November. So there is that.
I guess I better start putting together the threads in the Mafia forum in the mean time.

I also want to note to all players that I will be hidden for the rest of the game. This is so I can contact players with out reading to much into things.
