 This should be an awesome game if the rumors that it is being made in Japan are true. I loved nintendogs and love cats more. Combine the two and this will be awesome!!!!!!

Nintencats is a total no-brainer.  The only speedbump is cats don't have the same opportunity for different versions.  No one really cares about cat breeds.  But then I hate it when multiple versions of the same game come out so I wouldn't care.  Ideally the two games should connect so that your cat and dog can play together, fight, whatever.

I think some sort of hamster like game would work well too with mazes and wheels and tunnels and all those other cool things hamsters interact with.  The game could have hamsters, mice, gerbils, guinea pigs, etc.

Another speedbump that cats offer is that cats suck.

And they don't do tricks and stuff.

I'm afraid of the entire thing would be feeling milked if a NintenCats is followed by third party copykats like "Virtual Gerbil" and "Hey kids! Boa Constrictors make great pets!"

...

The whole point is that dogs, like humans, are social creatures. Cats are too, but in different ways. If Nintendos was just a better tamagotchi, it wouldn't be all it is today. Nintendogs is also a social networking toy, which is why Bark Mode is such a hit in Japan: you meet new people and new dogs just walking down the street.

Any sequel or rip-off would need to extend beyond just being virtual pets and show us the true rewards of interacting with other beings, be they pets or people.

Nintencats is an unclever name.
More like KITTENDO.  >=(

If they do make a hamsters/mice etc game, the kittens -must- be able to interact with them. =D

That's old.  Miyamoto said they probably won't do cats.  He said the dogs in Nintendogs actually have some cat-like behavior like licking their paws and stuff.  You never know tho.

Before I die, I'd like to own a copy of Nintendomo-kun.  That would be nice.

Excellent.  I remember that picture that was floating around the web a couple years back.  I laughed.

I'm gonna have to agree with kirby_killer_dedede on this one. What could be more boring than a real cat? Ah yes, a virtual cat, that you can watch climb all over your furniture and not respond to you. "Hey look, it's playing with yarn...again". Sorry, I hate cats...plus they have only been domesticated for a short period of time, and have no loyalty to their owners...and they steal your breath when you sleep.

That isn't to say they couldn't merely take an unrealistic angle and simply use the same AI from Nintendogs.  It could work, but it would just be horribly typical of Nintendo.

Why all the cat haters? I love cats way better than stupid dogs, and my cats have alwasy been smart and loyal, you just have to work harder with them than dogs, dogs sell out too easy. But to reply to topic Myomoto said in Game Informer magazine they are not going to doa  cats game. But he said there might be other games. so I will go with that for now because its the best confirmation you can get from them.
