Nintendo Gaming / RE:New Kirby Adventure for GCN!
« on: November 23, 2004, 06:17:33 PM »
I really hope HAL builds upon more elements from Kirby's Superstar this time.
The huge number of different attacks, and the 2-player helper system made Superstar easily my favourite co-op game of all time.

Wow, this is the first time in a long while that I've liked a Nintendo commercial that didn't focus on gameplay footage. It's attention-grabbing, very good stuff overall.

I just wish a certain key word had been used in the commerical that mentioned Metroid Hunters: First Hunt.

"Free"

Edit: Just noticed it says "demo card included" in small writing in the bottom left corner.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Possible New Peripheral: GCN->N64 Adaptor

Aww... boo me...

I did look for any similar threads before I posted this, but I wouldn't have expected it to be in Fast Forward, because it's GameCube-related news.

Nintendo Gaming / Possible New Peripheral: GCN->N64 Adaptor.
« on: November 17, 2004, 05:15:40 PM »
A recent poll on Nintendo.com asked users whether or not they'd be interested in a N64 adaptor for GameCube, and how much they'd pay for it. (The poll may have been taken down by now.)

I'd actually be interested in buying this, if the price is right. The reason being I only have one controller for my N64, but 4 controllers for my Cube.

For those who may doubt my credibility, this news has already been posted on The Magic Box.

Boo Nintendo of Canada!

Nintendo.ca says they'd be appearing at my local EB on Sunday, November 7th as part of the DS tour.
I show up at the store on the 7th, and whadaya know? The clerk told me that Nintendo had held their event there the day before.

The site also said Nintendo would be holding an event at my local Microplay today from 2PM-5PM EST. I showed up at 2 and waited there until about 4:15. Nintendo was a complete no-show, so I left.

At least those two outings weren't complete wastes of time, as I walked away with F-Zero X, Jak and Daxter, and Soul Calibur II (GC).

My last chance to catch the DS tour is at a Best Buy tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully the third time's the charm, and Nintendo actually will be there at the time shown on their website.

No release date, or even a timeframe for Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and Advance Wars DS.
What's up with that?!

Do you mean just the Japanese launch titles, or all the titles confirmed for release there?
IGN has posted the boxart for what I believe is nearly all the Japanese launch titles.

The only games I think are missing are Mario Kart and Feel The Magic.

Looks pretty interesting so far...
Though I wonder if/how HAL is going to work the trademark Kirby powers into the game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Spider-Man 2
« on: November 03, 2004, 08:49:14 PM »
When I first heard about this game, I expected it to be a lowly port of the GBA version, just using the second screen as some kind of radar, so I really applaud Vicarious Visions for the direction they've gone in for Spiderman DS.

The 2D/3D style it uses is very reminiscent of my beloved Viewtiful Joe, and thankfully, the DS's touch screen capabilities have been put to good use as well.

Though I'm not completely sold on this game yet, it looks like it'll be a very solid launch title.

The following is one of the clues Chad Paulson left in the Warp Pipe forums.

"Why Love Bees? Why hide yourself in a dark room and pretend to inflict violence on someone else? Virtual is real? Real is virtual?

Touch, feel, interact. Unmask yourself! It's not online, it's noline!

Probably won't happen, but I'd really like to see Konami remake the original MSX Metal Gear games. The second screen could be a radar, that'd be a given.

Denis Dyack and Silicon Knights would love to be a part of this.

I'm suprised no one else has mentioned this yet.
Check the note at the bottom of MagicBox's DS Game List

Well, there go the chances of a Killer Instinct port to DS....

Edit: They were wrong, I suppose.

Omen, you get my vote for Post Of The Year!

I remember countless times when my sister's "cool", "thug" friends would badmouth the Cube.  They saw me play Mario64 and thought it was a GCN game!

As we all know, "Mainstream gamers" believe games like Smash Bros, Zelda, and Viewtiful Joe are, dare I say, "Kiddie" and consider Tomb Raider, GTA, Max Payne, and The Getaway to be greatest thing since sliced bread. This is a joke.

I certainly hope Viewtiful Joe wins Game Of the Year.  As Bill said, Something like this could show the mainstreamers that "Videogaming is an art, not a way to control the violence and sex appeal they see on tv"

Whoa, I just found these on the Pocketeers forum, and this game looks truly awesome!
I haven't been looking forward to many GBA games, but this one's a definate must-buy for me.

This is a great first-outing for the developers at Pocketeers, I can't wait to see what's next from them.
